The Democrats, intent on attemping to seize the upper-hand on the ethics debate, launched a full-blown production at the Library of Congress today. As they unveiled their plan to try and brand Republicans as running a "culture of corruption," they turned to music.

As dozens of Democratic members of Congress filed into the Great Hall of the Jefferson Building at the Library of Congress, soft orchestral music reverberated through the marbeled room. It's the theme for their mid-term election strategy. Sen. Barack Obama stood at the podium - in front of his ranking colleague Sen. Dick Durbin - as the face of the reform effort We'll be writing more in tomorrow's newspaper......

Who cares? And please, don't bother telling us anything about the content of the Democrats' message. After all, the Trib wouldn't want to do anything to undermine its inevitable endorsement of the merry band of crooked GOP congresscritters this Nov. or the 2008 GOP presidential nominee.
