9 a.m. MIDEAST — The Middle East Institute holds a discussion with Gilead Sher, former Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, discussing the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict.

9 a.m. SOFTWARE PIRACY-SENTENCING — Scheduled sentencing before U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III of Danny Ferrer of Lakeland, Fla., who pleaded guilty to running a for-profit software piracy operation.

11 a.m. HURRICANES-FAMILIES — Nonprofit groups hold a briefing to discuss the impact of the Gulf Coast hurricanes on children and families.
