Looks like two potential 2008 Democratic presidential candidates, senators John Kerry (Mass.) and Chris Dodd (Conn.,) are trying to boost their own diplomatic credentials with a big trip to the Middle East. The Hartford Courant reports...

I hope they're paying their own ways. What, really, do either of them hope to accomplish? What can they learn that we do not already know?

Well...good luck to both on that since neither has a shot. Though ridiculous and blown out of proportion, I am grateful for Kerry's 'botched joke' (I'm not entirely convinced it was a botched joke) because it has crushed any chance he might have at the nomination again. He's been a great senator, but he will always be the Northeast dilatante anyone not from New England can't stand. The Dems problem in the past has been it's inability to come across as regular people, which is why Obama is so exciting for so many.
This is going to be one exciting presidential race. With armies of people on both sides duking it out, who knows what will happen?

Kerry and Dodd need to just stay in the Senate we have a person to win the White House in 2008.

Don't hurry back, guys.

Ah Dale, could there be any more spin were Obama's concerned? He's already talked of as a front runner, and yet most people know little about him. I know so many people who already plan to vote for this guy but they don't even know where he stands on the issues. That really scares me.

John Kerry will give the Democrats a great shot at the Whitehouse in 08 if he just goes away, maybe he could join Darth Cheney in an undisclosed location somewhere inside Siberia.

Bill,
I see your pal Paulo put Barack Obama's middle name in quotation marks. Hardly seems like he's harmlessly pointing out a fact as you suggest. Seems like he's using some sort of sinister code. Just like the codewords Republicans will pepper their speeches with to rural, mostly white crowds.
