From Washington Post:
Maliki disputed President Bush's remarks broadcast Tuesday that the execution of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein "looked like it was kind of a revenge killing" and took exception to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's Senate testimony last week that Maliki's administration was on "borrowed time."
The Iraqi Prime Minister said statements such as Rice's "give morale boosts for the terrorists and push them toward making an extra effort and making them believe they have defeated the American administration."
Why are George Bush and Condi Rice trying to help the terrorists? Why do they hate America?

"It's probably worth asking," Snow said, "what message does Congress intend to give, and who does it think the audience is? Is the audience merely the President? Is it the voting American public? Or in an age of instant communication, is it also al Qaeda? Is it Iraq? Is it players in Iraq? Is it U.S. troops? Is it people in the Gulf who want to understand whether the United States is, in fact, a partner upon whom they can depend for security even in trying times?" Tony Snow
Bush doesn't think the surge will bring "victory".
Bush is using the surge to deflect fault for his failures onto the Maliki government and the Democratic Party. That's his goal, and he is willing to sacrifice American lives to achieve it. They're already laying the groundwork. Just listen to their statements. Undercutting Maliki, and blaming the Democrats.
Shameful.

Doesn't matter what the polls say. It never has mattered with this administration.

If only President LoneRanger and his sidekick TontoCheney would listen to the American people whom they are supposed to be leading, and not the Evangelical/NeoCon thinktank groups....

Conor, sarcasm. If you didn't pick up on the parody of tired complaints by GOPers and other war supporters about people who opposed, I am sorry.
However, this poll shows McCain's greatest weakness in 2008. If the US is not out of Iraq by then, McCain has no chance of winning. He is more hawkish then Bush and that will be his fatal flaw.

The Swamp is of course VERY selective about the polls it chooses to publicize. Perhaps that is why the Swamp refuses to mention the latest poll which shows that the public overwhelmingly (strongly?) believe that the media have a liberal bias. Among all voters, a miniscule 13% believe the media present all viewpoints, 47% believe the media has a liberal bias, only 20% see a conservative bias, and 18% have no opinion. Even a plurality of Democrats see the press as having a liberal bias. Independents, by a 2-1 margin, see the press as liberal.
