Sen. Barack Obama is showing some early signs of a strong connection with supporters through the Internet.

Barely a week after announcing formation of a presidential exploratory committee through a video posted on his campaign web site, Obama has signed up more than 100,000 supporters through the site, according to the campaign.

"It's very, very impressive," said Matthew Dowd, chief strategist for the Bush-Cheney 2004 Campaign and co-author of the book "Applebee's America."

"When Howard Dean--who was the Internet candidate and grassroots guy--finished his entire campaign, he had a total of 500,000 names. So Barack is way ahead of that pace," added Dowd, interviewed in an e-mail exchange.

In an e-mail sent this morning to supporters, Obama wrote, "In the last week, I've been humbled and inspired to see more than 100,000 of you sign up to join our efforts to change the debate in this country, so that we can begin solving our common problems and pursuing our common dreams."

Campaign spokesman Dan Pfeiffer confirmed that Obama was referring to the number of people who had signed up as supporters through the campaign web site, www.barackobama.com. Pfeiffer declined to provide information on how many of the supporters have made a financial contribution.

I'll post this for when Paulo starts his one note swiftboating of future President Obama.

Paulo,I'm still waiting on your answer to my question:

WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN 08?

I know,it's a tough one Paulo, pick a GOP loser and go with it,you can do it.

It's nice to see that you got the day off from working the Mickey D's drive thru window today Paulo.

Batman Paulo cannot say he does not know. All he does is swift boat

It's always refreshing to see the farce that is Dale Peters, the one-time "Republican" who does nothing but tow the Loony Leftwing line, here by following Batman's lead, or is Batman actually Raving Loon, or actually John E.? Maybe Dale Peters also is John E? I'm really starting to wonder!! The writings and use of words for all these guys is exactly the same.
