The Swamp apologizes for several hours of disruption of service here today, caused by difficulty that the privately operated Web-site which manages both Swamp postings and the comments of Swamp readers suffered during the middle of the day.

Your comments have piled up in an ether-hold, and will be liberated shortly. Your patience, and good comments, are appreciated.

The mission of liberating our comments from the Ether-hold is a central front in the War on Terror. We need to support our IT geeks in the field. I am proposing that we surge an additional 21,500 IT geeks to the ether-hold until victory is assured.

I don't think 21,000 IT geeks will get the job done. That's scarcely enough to control the borders of the ether-hold. The real question is do we want to liberate these comments or not? If we're committed to the mission we'll send at least 100,000 more IT geeks.

Cut and run, cut and run

The IT geeks will be the first line of defense since Vista has been released upon the world. Let us hope the geeks can defend against viruses and worms that could invade our computer systems as more people install the new OS from Microsoft.

..."we must not allow a ether-hold gap"...
