Yet more evidence that the Amb. Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame moment may be passing.

Broadcasting and Cable reports the shelving of a planned Lifetime channel series based on the lives of the former diplomat and his wife, the once covert CIA agent who was outted.

Conceived and written by Sex and the City scribe Amy Harris, The Honorable and Mrs. used the Plame story as a jumping- off point for a series about a CIA agent whose cover is posing as the wife of the United Nations ambassador.

Lifetime touted the series a year ago when it unveiled its development slate.

What with former vice-presidential aide Scooter Libby convicted earlier this month for perjury and obstructing the leak investigation—and Plame herself testifying before Congress—we figured this was a propitious moment for the Lifetime series. Alas, it is not to be.

Evidently, Warner Brothers acquired the rights to make a theatrical release based on the Wilsons's story. But with Washington on to the next big scandal- the suspicious firing of the federal prosecutors-and the nation seemingly having moved on as well, a lot of the air has leaked out of the Plame-Wilson balloon (pun intended.) There's always YouTube.

As usual with a Frank James editorial, the writer "Amy Harris" whose idea this was just happens to be a magabucks contributor to all things Democrat, including John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. For her contribution record, see

What a startling coincidence....

Aww, poor babies. Wasn't the "Vanity Fair" spread enough attention? It's obvious these two drama queens had fame on their mind the whole time.

To bad they can't make movie.

Rudy could've played the Valerie Plame part.

Thank you, Bruce and JeffY, for showing us the inner workings of two irreparably deformed brains.

Bruce: Frank had the good sense not to mention Harris' political affiliation, since it had nothing whatsoever to do with this story or the ill-fated series. Not everything written turns back to your tiny, paranoid world. Sometimes things happen irrespective of political affiliation.

JeffY: The Wilsons did not write the series or have any apparent involvement in it. Add that to the fact that the VF article appeared after Bush ordered Plame's covert operative status disclosed, and you have to conclude that neither this article nor the series have any connection whatsoever to the Wilsons' supposed desire for attention. Again, not everything ties back to rightwing hatred and paranoia.

p.s.: That guy in the next cube is always looking at you in a funny way - better be careful!

Gee, isn't it amazing that basically a nonstory and nonscandal no longer has much Hollywood interest? Also, last poll I saw indicated that more than three-fourths of the country wasn't following the "scandal" and even heard of anyone involved.

Billy/Jeff,aren't we being a little cynical?Joseph Wilson has certainly received attention during his distinguished career with numerous awards and citations. And after viewing his wife,I;ll assume she gets plenty of attention.

The attention neither one asked for was when your Prez decided to speak 16 words that he knew were untrue.

There will be a movie, believe me.

What they are likely to do is weave in the common themes of this presidency: deception, corruption, misinformation, bribery, theft and the murder of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and the "waste" (Obama/McCain) of thousands of American lives.

The Penguin will play Cheney.

Is that the story where some guy called another Maccaca, or was it the one where Bush and Cheney were listening to everyone's phone calls?

I forget which media manufactured controversey this was.

Gee...Scooter might think differently! Was that another poll from www.johndsopinion.com?

JD is right. Dark skinned minorities and supporters of civil rights should be quiet when they are called ethnic slurs by our smiling leaders.

The loon and I agree on one thing. For an older woman, Plame is really, really hot.

"In the interests of full disclosure, will the Tribune contributors to "the Swamp" (Frank James, Mark Silva et al.) reveal their political biases by disclosing who they voted for in 2000 and 2004 (and other years) for president? How can the readers fully or accurately assess their postings, the "take" they have on current events, or even what they consider "newsworthy", without this information?

Notice every posting Bruce makes says the same thing?

(Note date of above quote)
This is the first ever Swamp article.

Mr Duke,

What about when John E uses ethnic slurs? Can we complain about that?

Jeff, Loon,

Valery Plame is hot as a pistol, and she don't look so old to me!

Sounds like Michael Moore is available, as soon as he finishing eating his donuts - give lard butt a few months.

after Bush ordered Plame's covert operative status disclosed,

a blinkin ...Please direct us to a link or site for verification of your assertion that Mr. Bush ordered that disclosure, I would be most interested to read about your" PROOF". Perhaps your just trying to imitate John E., the village idiot.

Joseph Wilson has certainly received attention during his distinguished career with numerous awards and citations.

Raving Loon...Those numerous awards and citations you speak to, would that also include the stinging rebuke from the bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report, which basically called him a liar, not only to the content of the report, but also who authorized his trip to Niger ? You have to stop hanging around John E. , he's turning your brain to mush.

Let's see: Hollyweird leftie writer and activist can't even sell this series to her fellow Hollyweirdians. Pretty sad.

And pretty typical of Frank James to censor the fact that the push for this agitprop came not from some nonpartisan writer but from some partisan apparachnik.

JohnD is right,I saw the same poll and nobody really cares about THE OUTING of VALERIE PLAME.It was a waste of time and money, just like bringing that fat loser EX-V.P.Gore to spew his myth on global warning, nobody cares.
But,people Do Care about the minimum wage that the democrats pushed to the back burner so they can bring one loser after another to testify about n-o-t-h-i-n-g.Get back to work and get that minimum wage increase resolved so all the illegal aliens can get some fake ID's and buy auto insurance.

Don B:

I certainly have no proof that GWB ordered disclosure of Plame's covert status. It's merely surmise on my part -- surmise meant solely to provoke dead-enders like you.

It seems to me you folks have exactly two possibilities to deal with here, given that the Libby trial made very clear that Cheney and Rove were directly involved with the disclosure:

1. GWB was told about and approved the disclosure in advance; or

2. GWB, the "MBA President," had not a clue what his direct reports were doing relative to a matter of substantial import, perhaps because he was too busy riding his fancy bike.

So you choose: your president is either a crook or an incompetent fool. Given that no heads rolled in the aftermath, #1 seems more plausible, because he's not going to fire someone for following orders. Choose DB, choose.

Yes,
Maccaca is a racial slur.

to whom, none of us are sure, but why let that stop a media manufactured controversey?

And for you all you youngsters out there, if you are a "covert" CIA agent, don't recommend your ,Kerry employee husband, to go to Africa to drink tea and talk to former govt. officials trying to debunk a British Intelligence claim with half ass assertions, then claim the Vice President sent him there. Hi might write an OP ED in the NY Times.....which might cause people to ask questions bringing wanted....uh, I mean unwanted attention to your supposedly covert wife.

I wonder if Joe Wilson will ever testify under oath?

Your kidding right? He smiled and pointed to the kid holding the camera after he said it.

And Beverly Hillbilly Jethro, who knew what macacca meant? Everyone had to go to dictionaries to try and find its meaning. It was just a word George Allen spouted.

But if you want to talk about racist comments, I'm game to discuss statements made by Joe Biden, Hillary Clintoon, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charles Rangel, Teddy "Swimmer" Kennedy.
