Tony Snow, the White House press secretary who has been sidelined since exploratory surgery on March 26 revealed a recurrence of cancer, will return to the podium of the White House press briefing room today.
Snow will appear at the morning "gaggle'' for reporters, which is held off-camera, as opposed to the televised press briefings at the White House -- though there is no formal briefing scheduled today.
However, the White House now says the first five minutes of Snow's gaggle will be covered live, on TV, and CNN plans to present his return. Starting time is estimated at 9:23 am CDT.
President Bush will meet with leaders of the European Union today in a U.S.-E.U. summit that will cover a range of issues -- while not adequatedly addressing the one that E.U. leaders are most concerned about: Climate change. And Bush will join his E.U. counterparts in a press availability in the Rose Garden.
Snow, a father of three and former FOX News commentator and news talk show host, had undergone treatment for colon cancer before becoming White House press secetary. Surgery last month disclosed that the cancer had returned and spread to his liver. Snow was said to be consulting with doctors about treatment for his disease, and had made one brief appearance at the White House Correspondents Association dinner this month, but has been away from work until today.

Bud McFarlin, Raving Loon, Doug R., It is good to see that your are consistently pathetic! I am surprised you guys didn't say what the rest of your ilk said about Cheney after the bombing in Afghanistan. You know, that you hoped that Tony Snow was dead.
You just can't put partisan politics aside for a moment to offer a little bit of support and respect for the health situation Tony has been dealing with can you?! Politics don't mean much when someone is dealing with a life ending disease. You guys really are pathetic! It is no wonder so many parts of our country are going down the drain? You guys like to blame Bush for everything but people like you are having a far greater impact than Bush on the negative culture we live in. You are a bunch of whiny losers. I hope Mr. Snow can perform his job well given his health considerations. Dana Perino is, I must say, prettier, but good luck and good health to Tony.
And John D, given your avowal of being a proud Bible-thumper, aren't you ashamed of yourself for using the LORD's name in vain, and for spelling it out in full (and without giving the LORD his proper due by capitalizing that Name at the very, very least)? Such behavior could be viewed by some as secular, you know. Tisk, tisk, and -- by the way -- tisk.
On the subject of your post, John D, I fail to see any frothing at the mouth from any posters prior to yours that even comes close to what you've written. I assume by "ending your self-imposed misery" you're referring to your earlier post where you suggested that "lefties" kill themselves rather than have to endure their pain of hating (was it Bush? or neocons in general?).
Such hypocrisy, such blatant examples of wrath and pride! I believe you might want to bring this up in your next conversation with the LORD. If you truly have Faith, and put your trust in Him, He can bring you out of this darkness of your soul.

Op109, yes I am a proud "Bible-thumper." Technically I am a Christian, not a Bible-thumper.
And thanks for your concern about using the Lord's name in vain. You see I purposely lowercased god, rather than using God. I am not using God's name in vain. Perhaps I am referring to Zeus or some other alleged "god," but certainly not God, our Lord and Savior.
But I do appreciate your concern. You might want to attend some church services for a few weeks. You might find out that it's not so bad and that you actually like it and get something out of it.
