The much-awaited testimony of former Justice Department senior aide Monica Goodling is set for next week.

The House Judiciary Committee just put out the following announcement:

TIME DATE PLACE
10:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 2141 Rayburn House Office Building

Hearing on: The Continuing Investigation into the U.S. Attorneys Controversy and Related Matters.
Witness: Monica Goodling, former Justice Department White House Liaison
By Direction of the Chairman

Goodling is a central player in the federal prosecutors firing scandal, but balked at speaking to congressional investigators until a grant of limited immunity could be worked out.

This should be interesting.

I wonder if this Regent University drone has been practicing saying "I don't recall"?

If Congress gets its hands on the "missing" e-mails from KKKarl Rove we might be looking at our best shot yet for impeachment of all of these Republican hacks.

Poor Monica.

So far from God, so close to the Bush Administration.

Would not the fine graduate of Liberty University Law School, Monica Goodling, have no need for immunity from criminal prosecution, if she actually practiced what her professors preached to her over the course of three years ?

The name 'Goodling' has a bad ring to it. When I get in the Wayback Machine to old Ft. Lewis, 1969, there was a self promoter named Goodling that was hated by all.

He was only a Sp4 but seemed to have sway over E5's and more. He would accompany the 'Butter Bar' Lts. on inspection and run his fingers under the rim of the toilet in the hope of finding somthing incriminating. I couldn't believe my eyes.

How he obtained this position is and was a mystery to all involved in the boring and deadly, 'Battle of Ft. Lewis'.

Anyway, completely different Goodling, I know.

Pardon my error. Goodling is a Regent University graduate. No difference, however.

Gonzo-gate may be what finally brings this crooked Republican administration down.

johnf,

You're right. As they say: "It's a distinction without a difference."
