The latest Harris Interactive Poll shows Barack Obama moving closer to Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination for president. The poll shows that 37 percent of voters intending vote in the Democratic primary favor Clinton, while 32 percent would vote for Obama.
From the Harris website:
Former Senator John Edwards, whose wife’s cancer has received widespread media coverage, was picked by 14 percent of potential Democratic voters while former Vice President and Oscar-Winner Al Gore was selected by 13 percent. Three percent chose New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson while Senator Joe Biden and Congressman Dennis Kucinich were each chosen by one percent.
Before being asked to pick their first choice in the primary elections, the adults surveyed were shown a list of all the main candidates in both parties and some other well known Republicans and Democrats, and asked which of them they would consider voting for. They could name as many people, in both parties, as they wished.
Among Democrats, more people say they would consider voting for Hilary Clinton (68%) than for Barack Obama (61%). However, Obama leads Clinton among Independents (by 37% to 29%) and among Republicans (by 14% to 7%). As a result very slightly more people overall would consider voting for Obama (39%) than for Clinton (37%).

As could be expected from the Obama-for-Messiah club at Tribune Tower, they publicize only the recent poll most favorable to Obama. And even that shows him well behind.
Real Clear Politics has averages up the latest 7 national polls and shows the following:
Clinton 36.0%
Obama 22.3%
Edwards 11.4%
Gore 16.8%
Chicago's Messiah is 13.7% behind.
Real Clear Politics also gives the Republican poll results, which as usual the "Swamp" doesn't mention:
Giuliani 25.7%
Thompson 17.9%
McCain 15.1%
Romney 10.7%
Harris Interactive polled Republicans the day before it polled the Democrats. Since the "Swamp" censors mention of Republicans, I'll have to give the link:

And although the reporters (?) label this as a "poll", the Harris Interactive Survey is of people who self-selected themselves to be contacted. In other words, it's not a random poll.

Bruce,
Once again, your analysis is better than the "reporters".

Great article. I enjoyed reading it.
I think we need to know what our candidates stand for on the issues as well so I created a site to track presidential candidates and the first article is always the current scorecard of their political stances. Check it out. http://www.candidatepositions.com
