It will be a busy weekend in Iowa and 49 other states for the Democratic presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.
On Saturday, Obama and his followers will participate in a national door-to-door canvass, an effort designed to garner media attention and provide an early test of the campaign’s ability to tap its large on-line following to build a field organization that could help win early primaries and caucuses.
During a conference call Thursday with volunteers, Obama called the event “the largest one-day grassroots organizing drive this early in a campaign.”
Cuauhtémoc Figueroa, the campaign’s national field director, said more than 10,000 people had signed up to participate in more than 1,000 locations across the country as of Thursday. Some 2,400 of those people had signed up to knock on doors in Iowa, including 800 who would be traveling from Illinois.
Obama, a former community organizer, is expected to knock on a few doors himself Saturday in Dubuque, Iowa, before heading back to Chicago for some rest ahead of yet another West Coast fundraising swing.

Will the secret service be going door-to-door with Sen. Obama? And what will Obama do if a military representative is following right behind?

When does the Senator from IL actaully do work for IL. I see he had no idea what was going on in the state of IL. Why hasn't the swamp even mentioned his political beatdown in the Senate?

Bud McFarlin,
If your being funny/sarcastic, I don't get it?
It is a given (to me anyway) that Obama has had his life threatened by racist nutjobs and yeah the Secret Service will be there when Obama goes door-to-door.
And your reference to "...military representative...." Huh?
