The Swamp

by John McCormick

Excerpts of an upcoming biography of Sen. Barack Obama are already leaking out.

The book, by Tribune staff reporter David Mendell, isn't due out until mid-August. But U.S. News & World Report says it already has a copy and is quoting a few passages.

The section quoted reflects many similarities to the final chapter of a multi-part Tribune series recently completed on Obama's biography.

A previous Swamp post on the book is here.

Wow, a Barack Obama bio written by a Chicago Tribune reporter? What ARE the odds? From 2004 when the CHicago LIBune ran the Jack Ryan campaign out of town, this newspaper has been in bed with Barack Obama. The Tribune is bought and paid for, their "reporters" are bought and paid for. Just change the name to The Barack Obama PR Agency and Tribune. A more accurate name, hmmm?

Why is it people are so surprised politicians have ambitions and plans? Don't we all?

Shouldn't the Obama campaign count John McCormick's and David Mendell's Tribune salaries as the Trib's contribution to the campaign, in recognition of the fawning columns churned out daily?

Little Johnny Wetsthebed,

Maybe if you read one of his books it would help you leave the life of being a follower (Republican) and lead to you becoming an enlightened independent thinker.....naaah not you,...nevermind little Johnny.

There is an obvious conflict of interest here. Tribune "reporters" win if Obama wins and lose if he loses.

John D - In a previous post you wrote:

So, I'll ask this question again and maybe the LIBune censors will see fit to let it post: Why do you Left wing Loons have such a fascination with me? Why do you folks google me? Why are you Loons so deranged and demented?

My answer: I can't tell you if anyone has a fascination with you or googles you or cares at all about you. I will tell you why people pester you.

1) You are a flat earther. You refuse to face facts. Your boy Bush is the worst President ever and you refuse to admit it. You cling helplessly to your beliefs and spout foolish talking points no rational person would think true. You know, way down deep, that Bush is a total, spectacular failure yet still you defend him and attack the opposing party in the most ludicrous manner. This is called "cognitive dissonance." You go online and swear the world is flat and expect people not to argue the point with you?

2) Like all good republicans you insist that everything, EVERYTHING, is Clinton's fault. I know a HUGE part of being a republican is avoiding being accountable for anything and pointing fingers at other people whenever possible but those of us on "the internets" don't have to nod our heads and go along like a bunch of brainless FOX News viewers.

3) Even when shown direct proof of how unbelievably silly your arguments are you refuse to give them up. You’re like a weatherman that is always wrong and doesn’t understand why nobody respects him. No matter how much you insist it will rain frogs today it won't. You claim fully developed snowmen will fall from the skies and you wonder why we mock you?

Bottom line is you, and your arguments, are ridicules.

P.S. - If you don't want to be heckled so much try not calling everyone who disagrees with you "loony." We aren't the ones who insist the world is flat.

RNC Bruce & Johnny D'Luded,

Practise up:

President Obama

Say it again:

President Obama

"CHicago LIBune ran the Jack Ryan campaign out of town,"

Awe come on Johnny, you can't be upset about that! After all your brilliant leaders in the Republican party are the ones who really ran him out of town.

Considering you fascination with Bill Clinton's sexual "perversions" didn't you want to know about Jack Ryan's?

nisleib,
In the postings of the conservatives here, I see mostly discussion of issues. From the liberals, I see mostly personal attacks.

Why is that?

This is what Logic Prisoner, Mark Silva, Frank James and the Chicago Tribune consider intelligence:

Yes John E and his protectors and enablers at the Chicago LIBune, though, prove my point that the Loony Left is indeed deranged and demented.

S. Sherman, your last post is hilarious! Are you reading the same thing I'm reading? Choose a thread and check the comments and COUNT the number of times one side or the other has debased the other. Hmmmm interesting to look at isn't it? Y'all throw someone under the bus if they even THINK of dissin your point of view.

What would be so wrong if you actually sat down and read a book? Who cares if the trib writers wrote it? I thought in your world all media were left wing nuts anyway, so it shouldn't matter if it's the Trib, or the NYT or Woodward/Bernstein you're gonna think it's biased and ya know something it IS biased. I would venture it's biased towards those who can read and those who read opinions from varying sources and come up with their own thoughts on issues rather than spew rhetoric from those who tell them what to think.
