by John McCormick

Following the lead of several other presidential campaigns, Sen. Barack Obama's campaign said today that it is launching a new text-messaging service to help organize events and help volunteers connect.

“This campaign is about the people across the country who are taking organizing into their own hands and text messaging is a key tool that will help us reach out to people who rely on their mobile phone service for information,” Joe Rospars, Obama's new media director, said in a statement.

The new service will allow the campaign to communicate news about events and campaign developments, and also allow users to request information from the campaign. The campaign said it will use text messaging to inform supporters about public appearances and to ask for opinions and advice.

Anyone who texts “GO” to OBAMA (62262) will receive a free bumper sticker between now and June 30th. Participants will pay their standard text messaging rates to their service providers. More information is at www.barackobama.com/mobile.

I've already registered Little Johnny and Bruce for an Obama for Prez in 08 bumpersticker.

John McCormick ignores his own newspaper's editorial on the real story, Obama and Rezko, to give us this free campaign ad for St. Barack.

And I'd love to hear why this text-messaging ploy was not worth reporting when other campaigns did it, but is somehow Swamp-worthy news when St. Barack does it.

If you want a pro-choice/late term abortion bumper sticker--text Go to Obama(666)

Paulo,

You forgot "Hussein."

If your're going to be a nitwit, at least make it consistent.

I wouldn't even know how to text message anyone-- and I don't care!!!
