Isn't this how Watergate started?
Officials are looking into a weekend break-in of a campaign office for Sen. Barack Obama in Davenport, Iowa.
But that's about where the similarities to the famous political burglary that ultimately ended Richard Nixon's political career apparently start to fall apart.
A campaign spokesman said the incident happened Friday evening and it was discovered Saturday morning. Two laptops were taken, but it does not appear that either contained anything sensitive or irreplaceable.
The office in the Mississippi River town is one of the many the Illinois Democrat has established across Iowa to boost his presidential bid in the early voting state.

Reminder: even Nixon didn't pardon the plumbers or commute their sentences.

I bet the password on his computer is (SilvaSwamp) and you have to face the East when typing it in.

Looks like Bill and Hillary are getting nervous. Soon we'll probably find Barack in the woods with a gunshot wound to the head, a la Vince Foster.

Don't worry you hard core republicans...even if they find out who did it...you can commute the sentence.

Still playing that muslim sounding name game huh paulo. Hows that working for ya? Too bad we can't bring back the old McCarthey days huh Paulo. You could do a lot more in the good ole days. After reading your past fried chicken jokes, it's not really hard to see why you are so afraid of Obama. Whats the matter bwana, did you find out that the word bwana is of arabic descent?

bill r.,
When it comes to Paul "Hussein" O, what do you recon is the better strategy?
1. Ignore him like you did your friend's little brother back in high school?
or,
2. Post slap him around like the little b****h he is?
I'm leaning towards 1.

This is getting abit worrying; look at the trend of events.
1)Obama offered secret service protection due to fears over his safety,
2)Obama's Washington apartment goes up in flames.
3)Man arrested with a knife outside Obama's hotel room.
4)Now,Obama's office in Iowa broken into.
I actually thought Political hooliganism was an exclusive affair of the African politics. American diplomats are extremly vocal when dealing with political thugery in Africa, One can never imagine that such incidents can be replayed right in the heart of American soil. There are three curious aspects pertaining to these now increasing political thugery directed at Obama.
1)They have all taken place in a period of less than three months.
2)No other leading candidate has been a target of this well choreographed political hooliganism
3)In all occasions the authorities have promised that investigators will not leave any stone un turned. However, it appears that some stones have proved too heavy to be turned as no one has been charged in a court of law todate.
My most nagging question is, what should we expect to here next in the comming few days or months. Shall the American people allow some lunatic maniacs to shutter their dreams of a United Prosperous USA.
As I have always said before, Obama symbolises the Unity in diversity of the American people and the will of the majority of the American people shall eventually prevail. LONG LIVE AMERICA, LONG LIVE OBAMA.

Doug...I try to stick with #1, but sometimes the ignorance and hate get to me. I do notice that he basically sticks to the Obama threads now. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why, if you've read any of his past posts. Funny, for such an "international" sounding name, he sure seems like he's from the "deep south". wink wink
nudge nudge.

Thanks for the valuable insight Paulo "Racist" Bush!

Hey Paulo - you surprised all of us by not blaming Hillary's campaign staff for the break-in. Is it because your email from the RNC hasn't arrived yet?
Posted by: BC | July 9, 2007 11:30 AM
I doubt it's the case but maybe the Obama camp is taking a page right out of Karl Rove's dirty playbook. Break into your own office, steal nothing useful and make sure you spread it to every news source possible that it looks like the workings of your opponent.
Somehow that just seems too deviant and republicant though.

Just think; only a week ago we had a bunch of right wingnuts whining about the cost of Obama's Secret Service detail. They'd rather he get assassinated than spend taxpayer money to protect a presidential candidate.
Pathetic.

Of course you're right and after all who says it's one or the other.

More mean spirited than usual, John. Your comments cover several of your RNC talking points, however. Vince Foster's suicide was suspicious. Hillary is SO ruthless. So on and so forth.
By the way,John. Are you still pretending to be a Christian?
Posted by: Catherine | July 9, 2007 2:19 PM
Catherine, me, mean-spirited? Please, I am a dove amongst the devilish lefties you hang around with.
In regard to Mr. Obama, I wish him no harm and when the Trib orginally had the story of the man with the knife my comment was scary, but that post never saw the light of day and in fact the Trib pulled that Swamp item and replaced it with the no big deal item.
IN regard to Vince Foster, there is lots of suspicion to this day. Catherine, honeybunch, you really should do a little research on Billary. Coincidence or not, but lots of folks affiliated with them as well as lots of folks who didn't like them, came to have untimely and unusual deaths, including Mr. Foster.
Not being mean, just stating a truth. Whether you like it or not or choose to accept the reality is clearly up to you!

John, there is more evidence of your hero's major coke use than any Scaiffe funded rumors about Hillary's involvement in Vince Foster's suicide. Aren't you just a little amazed that not one human being can remember seeing Bush when he was AWOL from the National Guard? The Bush's have deep pockets for sure.
