John Edwards might consider a thank you note to Ann Coulter
The Democratic presidential candidate announced a few moments ago that he will report a campaign warchest available for use in the primaries of just over $12 million.
His campaign's bank balance is slightly higher, at $13.3 million on June 30, but the remainder of the funds can only be used for the general election, according to a report his campaign will file shortly with the Federal Election Commission.
Shortly before the close of the quarter, conservative talk show host Ann Coulter, who had previously used a sexual slur to describe Edwards, said she wished that the Democrat would be assassinated by terrorists. A day later, Elizabeth Edwards phoned into MSNBC's "Hardball" during a Coulter appearance to confront her on the air. The Edwards campaign then featured Coulter in e-mail fundraising appeals, which first went out on June 26.
By the June 30 close of the quarter, the Edwards campaign raised $9 million during the three-month period and spent $6.4 million on operating costs during the period.
All presidential candidates must file detailed disclosures with the Federal Election Commission by midnight tonight. Democratic front-runners Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) have yet to file. Republican candidates Rudolph Giuliani and Mitt Romney filed early on Friday but Sen. John McCain has yet to file.
Aides to McCain revealed earlier this week that his campaign expects to show a net worth below $1 million, including unpaid debts. That would put him in a weaker financial position than long-shot candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), who today reported cash-on-hand of $2.4 million and no loans.

Comments
If we ignore the coultergeist, we do more damage than actually responding to it's falsehoods, exaggerations, untruths, hyperbole, bile, and hatred. Just like the coultergeist would do more damage to Edwards to ignore him rather than to get it's belly down into the gutter and look for all the most despicable, awful, vile, banal and mendacious things it tends to ejaculate.

It was a horrendouly stupid move for a right wing commentator to wish terrorist death on anyone. That one stroke made Edwards millions. Maybe that's the answer to wasting all these millions on campaigns. Let the people in opposition do it for each other.

It's nice to see that the vile Mann Coulter is actually turning around her life by helping to get a good candidate (John Edwards) elected as our next President.

Geez, Mike Dorning, Mrs. Edwards just didn't happen to call into Spit Matthews show, the show isn't even a call-in show. The Spit Matthews folks let the Edwards people know Ann COulter was going to be on and gave Mrs. Edwards a number to call in. When Ann Coulter showed up for the show, the Spit Matthews folks told her Mrs. Edwards would be phoning in.
Also, Mike Dorning, Coulter made her comment based on Bill Maher's alleged comment about wishing terrorists would kill Cheney. He actually didn't say that, but did say people would be alive if Cheney was dead.
Mike Dorning, I know like the rest of the Trib reporters, reporing truths, facts and circumstances is beyond your biased capabilities.
No Swamp "reporters" how about something on Hillary and the Breck Girl (Edwards) plotting to keep folks like Dennis Kucinich and other lower tier candidates out of the debates? How about it Mike, Markie or Frankie? We all know if it was Guiliani and Romney plotting to keep Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee and the rest out of the debates, you would be all over it!

Nothing about that in the topic here, John D. I see you've learned your lessons from Ann Coulter et. al well -- when the topic doesn't provide you with enough ammunition, then change the topic.
Nice of you to mention, though, that Maher didn't say he wished Cheney was killed. Coulter didn't make that distinction. YOU might have mentioned that Coulter's comment for the week following her appearance on Matthews included the gem of her whining about having to be browbeaten by Mrs. Edwards for "being mean to her husband." Poor baby! SHE can be nasty as she wants to be, but it's not fair when people call her on it!

Opie, Ann wasn't whining about being browbeaten. What she was pointing out was the double standard. Randi Rhoads from Air UnAmerica can call for the assassination of George Bush and there is not a peep from the media. Bill Molehair can say people would be alive if Cheny was dead, and not a peep. Coulter can do a take-off on Molehair's comment and the media goes into a snit.
As far as me "changing" the subject, no I am just pointing out another media and LIBune hypocrisy. If it was Guiliani and Romney whispering to one another that the lower tier candidates should be dropped from the debates, Frank James would have been all over it like it was macaca reborn! The Queen B and Breck Girl talk about it and not one darn thing about it in the Swamp.
What about it Lefties? Do you want to muzzle the likes of Dennis Kucinich and the Swamp's second favorite presidential candidate, Chris Dudd, from future debates???

Ann Coulter is vile.

Ann Coulter is no mre vile than Rosie O'Donnell, Air UnAmerica, Stuart Smalley, Keith Olberidiot, etc. In fact, compared to those folks, Ann Coulter is nicer than Princess Diana.

John D defending Ann Coulter and Bruce citing The Onion.
Hey John D, could you give me your definition of "Loony" again?

Get a grip on it Little Munchkin Johnny, would ya?
I love it when you and RNC operative Bruce, stick up for the Wicked Witch of Neocon Nation.
I'm glad that Skeletor Coulter is still out there spilling her vile hatred, it's working against her and the chickenhawk Republicans this time around.

Yeah, Bubba, you and anyone from the Left is loony.
Recent examples of Left wing loons in the Swamp: Bush orders the killing of thousands of New Orleans resident AND their pets!!
Bush, Rove, et al are Satan, Nazis, murderers, etc.
Sorry, but the only recent president I know of who actually has had people killed is one who's wife currently is runnimng for the job. Pity poor Vince Foster and countless of folks in Arkansas who got in Clintoon's way.

Give Anne Coulter a broom so she can fly like the odorous witch that she is.
John D, how does it feel sticking up for a gaggle of liars, criminals and half-wits on a daily basis?
Posted by: Logic Prisoner | July 16, 2007 2:51 PM
Can John D EVER post a message WITHOUT calling people some type of name (i.e. John Edwards, Breck Girl). When I read his posts, he sounds like a fourth grader out on the playground stomping his feet and calling people names. Grow up, John!

Ann was whining about being "browbeaten" by Elizabeth Edwards. I'm using Coulter's words from her own column. And as far as your "just pointing out another hypocrisy," we all know that's a crock. You're changing the subject because you can't get enough traction out of the material presented by the Swamp, and you want to get more mileage out of your allegations.
Re: the Vince Foster murder rumors, there's about as much proof that Vince Foster's death was NOT a suicide as there is that BushCo. engineered the bombing of the WTC (all hearsay, all very convincing to those who can't make better judgments, and all being spouted as gospel by partisan quacks). This makes you the intellectual equivalent of Rosie O'Donnell. Congratulations -- maybe you can "wear it as a badge of honor."
Posted by: Op109 | July 16, 2007 4:41 PM
Janstress, clearly you must not read the posts from your friends on the Left: Smirky McFlighsuit, Chimpy McFlighsuit, Darth Cheney, Satan Cheney, KKKarl Rove, Rush Limpburgh, Sean Insanity, Bill O'Really, Fox Noise, Feaux News, Juannie D., Johnny Dipshitz (sorry, Mark, but that was used), and I could go on.
Go back to sleep, Janstress, reality and your world have nothing in common.
