At the end of a fairly "yawn" news week, politics-wise, the Swamp is pleased to bring you this political nugget from America's premier source of fake news: the satirical newspaper The Onion
.
The blurb in question -- from the paper's special "USA! USA! USA!" issue published this week, featuring such headlines as "Congress Passes 'America is #1' Bill" -- comes from the bottom corner of Page 9 under the "Corrections" label.
It centers on Illinois' senior senator and reads as follows:
"Due to a miscommunication with a CIA source, The Onion ran an obituary from the outspoken, but still very much alive Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) last Monday. Sen. Durbin will die next Monday of 'heart complications.' The Onion regrets the error."
The Swamp regrets that we didn't notice this sooner.

Senator Durbin could be dead and buried and the pathetic IL. GOP still couldn't beat him.

"In a Senate floor speech Tuesday, Durbin cited an FBI report describing Guantanamo Bay prisoners chained to the floor in the fetal position without food or water and sometimes in extreme temperatures.
'If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control," he said, "you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings.'"
The "Americans" he is referring to are the US Marines at Gitmo.
