Chris Dodd won a straw poll.
But a lot of people are unimpressed.
Dodd won the Plymouth County, Iowa, poll Thursday night with 22 percent of the vote. Next were New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and 2004 vice presidential nominee John Edwards, each with 21 percent.
Dodd's office Friday touted his victory as a great win, with spokeswoman Taylor West boasting how "we are proud of the grass-roots campaign we are building in every part of Iowa."
But the state party was not pleased. It discourages such polls, and spokeswoman Carrie Giddins called such polls "obscure events."
Plymouth County Democratic Chairman Jonathan Neunaber threw more ice on Dodd's fire.
"Anybody who bought a ticket to our dinner could write a candidate's name on the back and vote, and Dodd's campaign bought an awful lot of tickets," he said.
"It seemed like his whole Sioux City office was there," he said, "and I recognized some people from his state office."
Not so, countered Dodd spokeswoman Colleen Flanagan.
"While it's true that one of our strengths is organizing, with only two staffers there," she said, "the results of this straw poll had much more to do with the strength of Chris Dodd's message of proven, bold leadership."
David Lightman reported this story for the Hartford Courant, a Tribune Co. newspaper.

How many waitressses did he "sandwich" in this county?

Chris Dodd is a celebrity of sorts he had a waitress incident reported nationally with Ted Kennedy--I need not go there that's who he is. Jerry White, Springfield, IL

Even Dodd is doing better than most of Republic Party nimrods.

"The mood here is one of unspeakable sadness. Rove's very presence these past six-and-one-half years has been a source of joy and light. Not just to the jaded Beltway insider, such as myself, but to the children who frolic behind him, hoping to catch one of the sweets which fall naturally from his doughy pantaloons. 'Turd piƱata!' they shout."

Well this must please the Tribune since Dudd is their second favorite candidate after Barack "Foot in the Mouth" Obama. Where was Mr. Foot anyway? Dudd was first, followed by the Queen B and then John "BC thinks I wear cheap suits" Edwards.

Mr. Dodd is a MEAN OLD man who should retire before he implodes. Never before have I seen a better example of his temper as when he was on Bill O'Reilly's spin program. The man IS VERY MEAN.

Let's take a trip down memory lane and why John Edwards is the Breck Girl. And, BC, still thinks Edwards buys his suits at K Mart.

John D, since you've been UNABLE or TOO COWARDLY to back up your allegation that Edwards' suits cost just as much as Bush's suits do, why don't you be a man for once and just ADMIT THAT YOU FABRICATED THIS "FACT"?
Why is that so hard for you to do? Are you unable to tell the truth?
