Pol Pot, Nazis, Gulags blah blah blah. Vote Republican

Dick Durbin, just as embarrassing as a human being as the one called John E. here in the Swamp. Problem is Durbin has political power and gets on TV. Illinois should be ashamed of the crap we've sent to Washington lately.
Please, Peter Fitzgerald, run against Durbin. We need a real American in the Senate for Illinois and not some empty suit who'd be happier as a pet project of Hugo Chavez.

Typical Republican, John D has a point. Vote republican!!!! We still have the rest of the world to conquer. Who's next John D? Oh wait we're not finished yet in Iraq. Oh what the heck stopping now is just a sign of weakness. The USA needs to show the world that we are as stupid as they think we are, vote republican. Don't concentrate on issues don't question, just punch the chad. Thank you people of Illinois who have shown the wisdom to send not just one, but 2 senators with courage, conviction and compassion to Washington. Senator Durbin has my vote. Gosh darn, there I go thinking again.

Little Johnny InTheBox,
After the the Wingnuts smeared Fitzgerald for his investigation into the CIA leak case it's been said that he doesn't want anything to do with you Wingnuts anymore, "heckuva job" nitwits.
You Repugs can't win in Illinois anyway, we know better.

"8/22/06 BUSH CLAIMS HE'S STAYING IN IRAQ AS LONG AS HE'S PRESIDENT"
I SAY THIS, AND EVERY VOTER CAN MAKE THE GRADE FOR THEMSELVES.
THE GAO VS GOP
15 OUT OF 18
THAT EQUATES TO 17% OF THE BENCHMARKS WERE MET. HMMMMMM PARLIAMENT ON VACATION, BUSH ON VACATION. AT A TIME OF WAR. OH GREAT COMMANDER IN CHIEF, WHAT VOICES DO YOU HEAR NOW?
100% VS 17% NO YOU HEAR STAY THE COURSE, GIVE ME 60 BILLION MORE AND I WILL NOT FAIL AMERICA THIS TIME. COME ONE GIVE ME JUST 60 BILLION MORE, MAYBE 1000 MORE SOLDIERS LIVES, MAYBE 500 CIVILLIAN LIVES AND I CAN GET THE JOB DONE. THIS IS THE BETTER WAY FORWARD. NO.
I THINK THE GAO SPEAKS FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, SO CAN THE GOP LISTEN TO YET ANOTHER INDEPENDENT STUDY GROUP THAT SAYS YOUR FAILED LEADER IS STILL FAILING AND STILL FAILING AND STILL FAILING, AND STILL FAILING.
IF YOU GET AN F IN SCHOOL YOU EITHER LEAVE OR GET KICKED OUT.
DO YOUR CONGRESSIONAL DUTY AND ADVISE THE HOUSE MADAME SPEAKER PELOSI TO CLEAN HER HOUSE NOW.
IMPEACHMENT OR CENSORSHIP
OR BOTH.
IT TOOK OUR FOUNDING FATHERS YEARS TO RESTORE ORDER. IT WILL TAKE IRAQ THE SAME. WE GOT THIS HERE IN AMERICA. FIX THAT WHITE HOUSE OF YOURS AND WE WILL TAKE CARE OF US.
OUR SONS ARE STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE, CAN YOU!

I can't tell if Typical is being serious or if that's grade A snark.

Ignorant-for-life John E., I said PETER Fitzgerald run against Dick Durbin, NOT PATRICK Fitzgerald.
BTW. Mr. Ignorant for Life John E., I do not dislike Patrick Fitzgerald. I question his investigation into the whole Plame affair because he knew who the leaker was in just three days. But while I question on him that one score, I also elieve him to be a well-meaning man, a good man and overall a good U.S. Attorney.

Dick Durbin is a DISGRACE to the people of Illinois. From calling our military prison in Cuba the same as the Nazis internment of millions of human beings, to the comments about Iraq, should tell the voters once and for all that he should be sent out to pasture. The pasture should be filled with the same kind of manure that comes from his MOUTH.

I'm with John D.....
I live in Illinois, one of if the not the most corrupt states in the union.
I'm ashamed EVERYTIME Durbin(D) opens up his mouth.
Courageous Senators from Illinois?...You've got to be kidding !!!
Other fine exampples....
We got Gov Blago(D)the most hated fool in the Gov seat. He's so bad that his own party doesn't want anything to do with him
We got Mayor Daley(D) whose name is synonymous with big city corruption. Oh yeah and his brother was that knockhead Gore's campaign manager...very impressive!
We had Gov Ryan(R)convited felon
Heavily heavily democratic state...
We probably use less fertilizer on crops cause of all the BS flying around here....
Obama cut his political teeth here...and you libs want this guy as president?
Oh Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeese

I just hope Senator Durbin is planning to start impeachment proceedings when the first of our bombers go into Iran. Isn't ONE fiasco enough for this crowd?
Posted by: athena | August 30, 2007 2:14 PM
Not surprising that the post from "Typical Republican" is nothing but talking-point platitudes, baselessly slamming others, and just general nonsense that means nothing. That's pretty much the basis for voting Republican...listen to nonsense, and go to the polls and harm our nation with your ignorant vote. Glad to see you're being honest with yourself "Typical Republican." Given the stupidity of what you said, I could not choose a more appropriate name for you. "Vote Republican....it's easier than thinking."

Whatever happened to that other senator from Illinois? What's his name? He must be out working on behalf of the citizens of Illinois, right? Right? Right?

Poor little Bobby,
We've already seen what Illinois is like when the Repugs are in charge (George Ryan), quit crying you losers.

Little Johnny "Halsted",
He's running for President.
GOBAMA08!

The key word is EXIT!!!
p.s. John D stay off the crack pipe and take your bipolar (affective) disorder medicine. You rant as if insane!!!

What IS up with Bush going on vacation all the time?! I thought we were at war. Aren't we supposed to blackout our lights, ration our sugar/butter, etc.? Reds/Bush: Whatever happened to 'whoever relaxes is helping the axis' [of evil]? Here is a thought: maybe this 'war' is a bunch of horse dung propaganda.
I'm proud to have Durbin/Obama as my Senators and Daley as Chicago's Mayor. Corruption or not, I feel my beliefs are actually being represented most of the time. It's too bad that half of the country is too ignorant to understand that if the US were run by people like them, then we would truly be the envy of the world. If you reds don't like Illinois, move to Indiana - I am sure you'll fit right in.

I've got a great idea for the Republicans in Illinois. Bring back Alan Keyes! He's a real winner!
Posted by: Hawkeye | August 30, 2007 3:57 PM
John E
In Illinois there is no difference between Dems and Republicans....
Shows how much you know..
The Republican party is here in name only.
Both sides have been feeding off the taxpayers forever.
It's just that the Dems have been doing it longer and are better at it.
Don't sweep aside the Daly Democratic Machine and the rest of the corrupt backroom deals Dems in the state.
Illinois is a lost cause and is a great example of WHAT NOT TO DO!
At the end of the day Illinois has and will be a heavy Democaratic state with all the corruption that goes with it.....
If Sen Turbin were a Republican I'd hate him just as much!!!
Have a nice weekend

RAY GORAK. HITLER WAS REAL AND SO WAS THE HOLACAST. AND THE ONLY PEOPLE OUT IN THE PASTEUR IS OUR TROOPS. DO YOU KNOW ANY OF THEM, IF SO, THEY PROBABLY WOULD SLAP YOU BEHIND CLOSE DOORS AND TELL YOU STRAP ON MY BOOTS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT DICK DURBIN IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY.
Posted by: Roger Morris | August 30, 2007 4:34 PM
John D. is the one who should be ashamed of nearly everything he's ever said here. Head-chopping, wisher that all who disagree would die and, as far as we can tell, has his DittoHead right up Rush Limbaugh's a**.
John D., get a grip or get out.
Posted by: snalg | August 30, 2007 4:37 PM
John E, if you don't agree with someone, you attack them. Debating is not attacking. I thought the "left" was suppose to be inclusive. Not bitter, hateful little men. You are a prime example of the term "becoming what you hate the most".
Posted by: Bone | August 30, 2007 5:28 PM
Let's see.
If I remember. The last time we had elections in the state of Illinois, the Republicans couldn't get ONE candidate to run. They chose to get some fanatic from Maryland who couldn't get elected dogcatcher.
Durbin calls an ace an ace. If we had more like him in the Senate we wouldn't be in Iraq.
Corrupt Democrats in the State of Illinois.
That's nothing compared to the corrupt Republicans in the Federal government.
Posted by: dogjudge | August 30, 2007 5:34 PM
John D.,
Durbin voted against the war.
Enough said, dimwit.
Posted by: Bud McFarlin | August 30, 2007 5:51 PM
Athena, impeachment procedings start in the House. The senators are the jury.
BTW every senator that followed their constitutional mandate to review the evidence against Bill voted for removal.

Durbin:Military pushed to the limit
Wrong. The United States has 2.6 million soldiers. There are 162,000 soldiers in Iraq. That means 7% of the United States military is in Iraq. Doesn't sound like the military is being pushed to the limit to me.
Durbin: Let's not mess up Iraq exit
Deliberate disinformation. There has been no decision to withdraw troops from Iraq. It's not possible to 'mess up' something that hasn't even been decided.
Someone here posted a message saying 'Isn't ONE fiasco enough for this crowd'

I feel sorry for the journalists at the Chicago Tribune who had to listen to glib Dickie Durbin. He reminds me of Al Capps old comic strip Send Fogbound to Washington to get him out of Dogpatch it applies to Durbin. Durbin and Schumer are both partisan hacks. We have a noble and successful mission in Iraq and we don't need this liberals advice we don't need to hear his apostle of the obvious advice. Over Labor Day keep him in Chicago we don't like it when he comes home and his every word is carried on radio, TV and in the local paper. Jerry White, Springfield, IL
