The very helpful people at the National Republican Senatorial Committee were kind enough to inform us that Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) who chairs the committee will be on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulous" Sunday morning show with his Democratic counterpart Sen. Charles Schumer of New York.
According to their advisory:
NRSC Chairman Senator John Ensign will appear on ABC News' This Week with George Stephanopoulos this Sunday, September 2.
Ensign will appear live with DSCC Chairman Senator Chuck Schumer of New York. The two Chairman (sic) will preview 2008 Senate races and discuss the outlook for the remainder of the year.
Of course, the third senator whose presence will be there in spirit though not on camera is the embattled Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho. If Craig is going to quit, which seems increasingly likely, it certainly would help Ensign if he did so before airtime Sunday.

The 3rd person who will be there, in the flesh, is Democrat George Stephanopoulos, former staffer to Mike Dukakis and Bill Clinton transformed into "nonpartisan" ABC interviewer.
Why do Republicans even bother to attend loaded setups like these, where they'll be outnumbered 2-1?

RNC Bruce,
The next time the RNC has a meeting why don't you put your question on the agenda?

Why don't you or someone in the RNC ask them why they attend?? I would say, they do it because they want to do it. It goes along with the job.
Why do Democrats, progressives, or independents bother to attend loaded set-ups like Fox Noise, Bill O'Liar, or Sean, that great unpatriotic American, Hannity when they can't even get their say in without being cut off or interrupted.
Can you ansewer that honestly for us Brucie??

Bruce must be reeling with a NRSC typo being exposed by a member of the biased liberal media. Not a good start to his weekend.

For the same reason Democrats attend loaded setups with O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. - because they want the chance to tell their side of the story.
Tell us, Bruce - in his almost 7 full years in office, which Democrat-run media talk show has VP Cheney appeared on? Why is he TOO AFRAID to face a "hostile" talk show host?
