AMES, Iowa -- The candidates and their supporters (and throngs of reporters) are still waiting to hear the results of today's Iowa Straw Poll.
The results were supposed to be available at 7 p.m. Central, but those gathered around former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's stage were just told it will be at least another 10 minutes.
Update1: At 7:32 p.m., Republican officials said they were "close" to reporting the results.
Update2: At 7:41 p.m., there are still no results.
Update3: At 7:49 p.m., ditto.
Update4: At 8:01 p.m., the numbers are now more than an hour delayed. Things are going to start to get especially tricky for East Coast newspapers trying to make their Sunday edition deadlines.
Update5: State party officials now say the results are delayed due to electronic voting machine problems. About 1,500 ballots need to be recounted because of a problem with one machine.
Update6: At 8:11 p.m., party officials said they were about to announce the results. But they seem to be stalling a bit, still, with no numbers as of 8:19 p.m.
Update7: Mitt Romney has won the Straw Poll.

How exactly are the neo-cons going to vote for "None of the Above"? Thanks to snotty little prince georgie and his thug cheney, you guys could run Jesus and Santa Claus on the same ticket and not get a vote. Ha Ha. Watching the melt-down of the Republican party is hysterical. I'm sure Lincoln is spinning in his grave.

Just for the record, a "neocon" (which is short for neoconservative), is "a former liberal espousing political conservatism,"
according to Merriam-Webster dictionary.
I sincerely doubt that the people to whom some bloggers refer are former liberals.
Much harder to find are former conservatives espousing liberalism. And I'm not sure what those types are called...at least insofar as a family news medium will allow.

Neocons are the NEW CON-artists of the GOP who have abandoned every principle of conservatism and replaced them with treasury-depleting Napoleonic adventurism based on world conquest because they believe if you are not a subject of King George, then you are a terrorist.
People with military experience need not apply.
