President Bush went boating and fishing today with his father, the former President George Herbert Walker Bush, and his brother Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, who just might have gotten elected president in 2000 if he had won his first race for governor, in 1994, and brother George W. had lost his first race for governor of Texas, in '94.
It worked out the other way, of course, and now George Walker Bush is president and John Ellis Bush a retired governor.
Their father says his newest boat and probably his last, the Fidelity III, is capable of 70 mph on the water -- he has clocked it at that, with three people aboard and a half a tank of gas to lighten the ship, he told reporters gathered out at Walker's Point several weeks ago.
(You may notice in the photo below: Those three Mercs out back are packing 825 horsepower. "It can gallop!'' one of the Bushes told the Swamp today.)
Today, says White House spokeswoman Dana Perino, the three were out there simply to cast a few fishing lines.
"They're taking advantage of the great outdoors -- it's one of the things that this family loves to do when they come up here in the summertime,'' she said at the Kennebunkport press filing center. "They do a lot of what other families do when they get together for family vacations...''
"Bicker?'' a reporter asked.

Where were the Bushes' friends, the Clintons? Surely they've not run out of free vacation spots?

Our troops are dying in Iraq and the Iraqi Parliament is on vacation...while the Frat Boy in Chief is out fishing.

The great outdoors they want to allow industry to rape and poison with little to no regulation. We love those mercury tainted, PCB tainted fish Mr. President.

The loony left posts forget that the Bush family is visiting the Dad like most brothers are wont to do. They have made America and Florida great stop being envious your green eyes are showing and environmental wackos stop being anti-capitilistic. Jerry White, Springfield, IL

"EVERYONE IS ON VACATION"
Except America
Except the Marines
Except the Navy
Except the Air Force
Except the Army
NO THEY ARE IN THE DESERT WISHING THEY COULD GET A GLASS OF CLEAN WATER.
NO THEY ARE IN THE DESERT OF IRAQ TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO THE ENEMY IS TODAY.
SUNNIS ON SUNDAYS, SHITTES ON MONDAY, AND ALL OF SAUDI ARABIA THE REST OF THE WEEK.
SAME TIME, SAME PLACE AND ALL IS GOOD FOR HALLIBURTON.
9/06 - BUSH SAID - THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT IS STILL A WORK IN PROGESS.
WHAT ARE THEY THIS YEAR?
ON VACATION, ON A PILGRIMAGE. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, EXCEPT THEY FORGOT TO PUT A CEASE FIRE IN PLACE BEFORE LEAVING. NOW THAT ALL THE FACTIONS ARE FRIENDS FOR THE MONTH AND CAN HOLD HANDS FOR A MONTH, WHY NO A CEASE FIRE SO WE COULD GO TO THE KUM BAYAI TOGETHER.
SOME UNIFICATION OVER THE LAST YEAR. I MEANT RECONCILIATION OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS. THEY NEW THE PLAN, MALIKI NEW THE PLAN.
1001 CIVILIAN AMERICANS DEAD AND COUNTING (NOTICE HOW THEY GOP SNUCK THAT IN THIS MONTH) BUT NOT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. 3,900 MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN DEAD, NOT FISHING, BUT DEAD AND COUNTING. SO ALL COUNTING HAS STOPPED UNTIL AFTER SUMMER BREAK, BUT CAN A SOLDIER GET A BREAK MR. PRESIDENT.
WHAT PRESIDENT / COMMANDER IN CHIEF GOES ON VACATION, ON VACATION, ON VACATION. NOT A LEAVE OF ABSENCE OR A LEAVE OF POST, BUT FISHING WHILE HIS MEN AND WOMEN ARE IN THE BATTLEFIELD. PATTON IS ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE.
NOT A GENERAL, NOT A GREAT SOLDIER, NOT A GREAT AMERICA, ESPECIALLY NOT A GREAT "WAR" PRESIDENT.
HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR NO ONE GETS SHOT HUNTING.
ONLY THE BUSH FAMILY WOULD START TWO WAR OCCUPATIONS AND NOT COMPLETE THEM AND THEN GO ON VACATION.

That, was SERIOUS funny. Thank you!

Jerry,
I'm beginning to feel sorry for you.
America was great even before Prescott Bush stole Geronimo's skull for Skull and Bones at Yale. Before Babs put on her first set of pearls. And Florida was great too. Just ask Mickey Mouse, a key advisor to this administration.

What other families do is work hard during the hot month of August while minimally 33% of their salaries go to pay for Bush's criminal war.

I'm sure the troops on the ground in Iraq realy love seeing photos of their fearless leader fishing. Why does that boat need three motors?

Imagine being that fourth guy; Poor (chump).

The loony left posts forget that the Bush family is visiting the Dad like most brothers are wont to do.
And what about military brothers in Iraq that want to visit their dad? This mis-administration keeps extending their tours of duty, preventing exactly that which you are supporting. Let's see you come out and call for the Democratic bills providing equal time in Iraq and the US for current soldiers. If you can't, you are just a loud mouthed, lustering, bullying hypocrite. But then, we all knew that anyways.

Jerry W,
You really think they are like most families?
BTW, 'loony left' belongs to John Dfool. It's the Ditto Head mentality; You can't come up with your own insult?
Here's an original; Stick to the 'snake dancing' at church on Sunday. Leave the 'thinkin' to the heavy weights like Paulo and Aroo.

"OK, they think we are fishing. Heh heh.
Now, how do we parse out the next 20,000 lives? I saw hit Iran. We have a little over a year to cement the 'new direction' in. Let's just do it. Hey Jeb, when the other lessors all destroy each other how do you plan to announce? I think you should make them beg you, at the convention. By then they will need you. George! Too much slack in that line!" (Pappa)

DR,
Hope the photogs hang around a while. They may get a shot of the Bush Boys rolling Big Pussy's body off the back of the boat in a garbage bag.

I wonder if Daddy Bush bought carbon offsets for all of the pollution that those 3 Merc engines spew into the air.
Probably not.
