A turn on the debate about "change" is taking place this week, as politicos argue about, well, small chunks of it.
Earlier this week, some supporters of Republican Rudy Giuliani asked contributors to kick in $9.11 as part of a fundraising drive for the former New York mayor, whose international fame owes to his performance in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
A supporter came up with the $9.11 idea and didn't clear it with the campaign, according to a Giuliani aide who called it "an unfortunate choice." Critics roundly denounced it as crass.
Now Democratic candidate Joe Biden's folks are firing back with a protest solicitation. They're asking people to register their objections with a contribution in the amount of $20.08. Or $200.80. Or maybe $2,008.00.
"Today, we're going to send a signal that we've had enough of Republican candidates exploiting 9/11 for political purposes," writes Biden campaign manager Luis Navarro. "Let them know that in 2008, we're going elect a President with the vision and strength to pull the country together instead of ripping it apart for political advantage."

Biden is so, like, wasting our time. He, Chris Dodd and the other single digit candidates have provided entertainment and even education, but now they need to get out of the way.

"an unfortunate choice"
What a bold statement from a strong and decisive leader!! Way to put this issue behind you.

Wouldn't it be nice if Republicans and the media were as outraged over this as they are over a newspaper ad?

Rudy's a joke.

Ms. Parsons, how can their be a "debate" (your headline, not mine) about anything when only one side (the Democrat side, naturally) is presented in your column?
It takes at least two to debate. With the Swamp, you don't get two sides, only one. Which is outrageous.
Try presenting both sides for once.
