Sen. Hillary Clinton, who hopes to be the next president, says her husband, the former president, often brings her romantic gifts -- a giant wooden giraffe from an African trip, and a Chanel watch that reminded him of teeth.
"Oh, he's so romantic," the former first lady says in an interview appearing in the November issue of Essence magazine. "He's always bringing me back things from his trips."
The watch had a bracelet made of white cubes.
"I had dental surgery, and he said it reminded him of teeth," she explained.
The senator insists, too, that she is satisfied with decisions she has made in her marriage.
"Now obviously we've had challenges, as everybody in the world knows," she says in the interview. "But I never doubted that it was a marriage worth investing in even in the midst of those challenges, and I'm really happy that I made that decision."
In 1998, news unfolded about her husband's affair with Monica Lewinsky -- news which Clinton has written about in her own memoir.
She says women should support each other in the choices they make in their marriages.
"I think it's so important for women to stand up for the right of women to make a decision that is best for them," she says.

She has to be the MOST stupid woman in the world. First, to ever marry the JERK, and second, to be ashamed of the LEWD behavior that he committed and look like a BIGGER JERK than him. Heaven forbid her ever becoming president. If she does, this will be the first time that TWO JERKS occupied the white house.

Ignoring Senator Clinton's laughable comment about the romantic gifts, I find her choice of words interesting. Senator Clinton no doubt sees this marriage as a "investment" and expects her ROI to be the office of President.

Did Hillary/Bill cackle during this intimate look at her personal life. This is worth one great big cackle, a wooden giraffe. How romantic! Even Margaret Thatcher did better than that with her old man.

Actually, Ray, the most stupid woman is Laura Bush for marrying the doofus we have for President now.
And Stevie, a lot of people look at marriage as an "investment", and not for political purposes. Stop trying to read between the lines.

I have one word for Hillary, " HYPOCRITE"

Is this woman ever capable of speaking the truth? Who can forget the "romantic" picture of the two of them and Chelsea walking to the helicopter during the Monica scandal? Or forget the "romantic"
gifts that he brought to Monica after being out of town. Hillary would gain some credence with women if she would just i.d. Bill as the clumsy cheater he is. Depending on your definition of what "is" is.

Including this article, in the month of October, the Swamp has run 43 articles with "Clinton" (the Dem frontrunner) in the headline, and 54 articles headlining runner-up Dem Barack Obama, versus 21 articles for GOP frontrunner Rudy Giuliani and 10 articles for GOP runner-up Fred Thompson.
Total for the top two in either party, 97-31, a 3 to 1 Democrat over Republican ratio. Which is about what I've found in other studies of the Swamp.
If you want all-Dem all the time, read the Swamp. If you're looking for balanced coverage of both parties, look elsewhere.

Brucie, Brucie, Brucie:
How many times do I have to tell you that The Swamp is a BLOG, not the news. The reporters post items on here that they think will be of interest to the bloggers to comment on. Nowhere does it say that they have to post 50-50 on both parties.
And do you think that the emphasis on Barack MIGHT be because he is the Senator from Illinois?? You know, the state that The Trib pubishes in??
You know, you really need to get a life if you are now doing monthly studies of The Swamp and the posts on it. Either that, or how about a few line charts tracking this over the life of this blog????

How did Bill pass on that romantic voodoo doll from Haiti?
All he gave Kathleen Willey was advice for her newly swollen lip; ice. What a guy!

I love how Republicans preach about family values, yet made fun of Al Gore for kissing his wife, and make fun of Bill Clinton giving his wife gifts. I guess the family values Republicans practice are limited to calling prostitutes, getting divorced multiple times, and molesting underage male pages.

And we encourage you to follow your own advice. If you have something meaningful to contribute (that is related to this post), please do so.
On the subject at hand, I'm surprised that the Repubs would urge Hillary to dump her husband. Seems to run contrary to Republican "values". Maybe Monica was doing her a favor....

Liberal math: 3 equals 1.
And Liberals must pretend 3 to 1 is actually equal time, because otherwise they have to admit the Swamp (which proclaims itself the source for ALL political news, not just Democratic Party political news), is just a bulletin board for the Left-wing reporters who write for it.
Liberal math is like Liberal spelling ("pubishes") and Liberal geography (Clinton is senator from New York, not Illinois).

I think I speak for Bruce when I'm say I'm OUTRAGED about the over-coverage of the Chicago Bears, and almost zero coverage of the Tennessee Titans. If you want all Chicago sports all the time, I guess we only have the biased-homer Trib to rely on.

I think Bill also gave Hillary a case of the crabs.
