The Republican National Committee has unveiled its new logo for the party's convention next summer in Minneapolis-St.Paul.
It's a serviceable logo, not highly designed or stylized, featuring the party's trademark elephant. The RNC's press release says it's a "triumphant" elephant. But it could just as easily pass for a dancing circus elephant. Or a sidewalk chalk outline of a dead elephant. Only Election Day 2008 will determine which it really is.

This may be a better logo.

I think they need a different animal. The bull would work

New GOP LOGO?
It should read:
MY FELLOW REPUBLICANTS, PLEASE DON'T USE THE LARRY CRAIG STALL!

I guess the hammer and sickle was taken!

Waaaait...Isn't the GOoPer convention in Minneapolis?
Shouldn't the logo feature an elephant taking a wide stance over a broken bridge? Perhaps crying over an ad? With a giant bush as the background?

When elephants fight, it is the grass and the mice that suffer.

What a horrible choice..it looks like the elephant's head is nearly cut off at the neck. The star for an eye? That is cartoon for roadkill. And to think...I'm for that party.

An overweight mammal increasingly rare in its native habitat, known for charging first because of its relatively small brain, and with prison stripes on its back.
Perfect.

Hey, I have an idea for their theme song!
♬
Born down in a dead mans town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog thats been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the u.s..a....
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said son if it was up to me
Went down to see my v.a. man
He said son, dont you understand
I had a brother at khe sahn
Fighting off the viet cong
Theyre still there, hes all gone
He had a woman he loved in saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
Im ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run aint got nowhere to go
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a. ♩

Oh, sorry, I forgot; The Republics already used this one.

They left out the large, steaming pile of manure that is the illegal occupation of Iraq.

...and to think they will all have the opportunity to actually use the 'Larry Craig' restroom in the Lindbergh Terminal!

RNCBS:
That steaming pile is always there. It's not just from Iraq.

Do you guys have any non-liberal contributors to this blog? You tout it as "a new way to report news from Washington" but it all seems like the same old liberal blather to me.
