It looks like a decision could come as early as this weekend on a date for the Democratic version of the Iowa caucuses.
Radio Iowa's O. Kay Henderson is reporting this hour that the Iowa Democratic Party's State Central Committee will meet Sunday evening to discuss scheduling of the Iowa caucuses.
Iowa Republicans have already settled on Jan. 3 for their date.
Henderson reports: "In conversations with Democratic party officials and those connected to or participating in the discussions, it appears highly likely Iowa Democrats will hold their precinct-level meetings on January 3 as well."
New Year's Eve reservations at the 801 Steak & Chop House in Des Moines are going to be a hot ticket.

Die-hards unite.
This isn't a democracy anymore. It's a parka-snowmobile-ocracy. Those with the means will get to the polls. Everyone else will huddle around ovens and try to keep themselves warm.
