No need for Obama to get nasty, governor says: The Swamp

The Swamp

Political analysts maintain that, if Barack Obama hopes to remain competitive with Hillary Clinton, he'll have to start going after her more aggressively in their race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

But Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, whose career bears some parallels to Obama's, argues otherwise.

"There's no point bloodying each other up," Patrick tells his hometown newspaper, the Boston Globe. "Part of the appeal of his campaign and his candidacy is that he is a different kind of candidate and not making all the conventional moves and following all the conventional advice."

A rising African American star in Democratic politics, Patrick's endorsement was considered a big score by the Obama campaign. Clinton also pursued Patrick, who served in her husband's Justice Department. But Patrick held a large rally for Obama last night in Boston.

Parker is the highest ranking African-American in the Democratic party. It's about time the Democratic leaders begin putting their support where their mouths are and try to catch up to the Republicans in placing African-Americans in high positions, like Rice, Powell, Thomas, Steele and others.

For Obama to get nasty? Right now, the other headlines out about Barack are calling him Osama and bashing him for associating with people who don't like gays (because liberals love diversity, except diversity they disagree with). Sounds to me like he's got a long way to go before he's close to the nastiness of his rivals.

hes not winning in the phone polls, but in internet polls, rally attendance, volunteers, and donors hes wiping the floor with her. i'm pretty sure that means he doesn't have to do anything to "remain competitive with Hillary Clinton"

Patrick is right. The pundicts don't know what they are talking about - especially the national pundicts. They've been wrong about every thing and why should Obama take their advise?

Obama should stick to his gun and do what is best for America. He has my vote already, i have not been poll and i am not intrested in this bogus poll number

Obama is on the right track. He should stick to his guns.

You are doing just fine, Sen. Obama. See you at the White House!

I secongd that, I hope that he sticks to his guns and stays above the fray of pettiness, innuendo, and lies. Barack Obama is a class act that and a true moral compass. He tells it like it as and backs up every move with common sense and a clear sense of purpose.

Well, if Bruce is going to fall down on the job, I'll have to post this to the Obama lovers in the Swamp:

The latest LA Times poll has Hillary leading Obama 48% to 17%. Ouch. The USS Obama is taking on water. There's nothing left to do but get desperate and launch a smear campaign on Hillary. This should be fun. In other news, Stephen Colbert is close to even with Biden, and ahead of Richardson, Kucinich & Gravel among likely Dem voters. If you are still donating money to any of the latter three, I have some investment ideas I would like to interest you in.
