Maybe people really do read their e-mail in the morning.
Following an electronic solicitation sent early today, Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign says it is receiving a surge in online contributions. The Swamp reported about the e-mailed fundraising pitch this morning.
"We’re experiencing the biggest spike in online donations today since the day Obama announced," spokesman Ben LaBolt says.
The campaign's web site reports that it has raised nearly $500,000 toward the $2.1 million goal Obama listed in his e-mail to supporters.

I just donated another $50. If anyone can do it, it's us (Obama supporters).
No machine can survive 365,000 of us and counting.
If Edwards requests, I will also give. Out with the old, and in with the new. Let's get rid of the b-tch.

I am a cab driver in NY city. I just gave $110 to Obama...Hillary has done nothing for NY. She smiles with Murdoch and cashes his money...we need integrity in the white house...

great to hear Daniela. My friends and I are doing all we can over here and cannot understand for the life of us why America is pushing harder for a CHANGE. People like Obama come by very rarely. There is a reason he has gone from nobody knowing who he has to having over 400,000 donors in just months.

agree. obama just got a $50 donation from me. its time for us to kick out those insiders and let them know who still owns this country!

I just donated $25, registered to vote in the primary, and sending out e-mails for others to do the same. The funny thing is that I never had hope for politics until Obama ran for president!

Absolutely S.S. --- Obama will blow the mainstream media and Washington Establishment out of the water when the first primaries take place. It'll be wonderful!

I read the email and was waiting on payday yesterday to make my additional contribution. I am glad to see others are inspired as I am. This is my grassroots effort to take my country back.

GO OBAMA, we sent a donation and GLADLY will send more! Keep up your message and your drive. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!

I think he is going to catch fire in the next few months. I just have like (almost) everything he has to say - even criticizing the auto industry in my home state (they deserve it). I'll give a few more dollars and I will support him win or lose. GO OBAMA!

Obama closed the gap just days after he asked for donations. I sent in 100 dollars and will continue to do so until we take back our country.
