It may seem like a formality, but supporters for Sen. Barack Obama will be up early Monday morning to file petition papers to get him on the ballot for the Feb. 5 primary in Illinois.

The Illinois Democrat's presidential campaign says the group, including former colleagues from his state Senate days, will start waiting in line at 6 a.m. in Springfield, Ill.

The supporters expected to be there include state senators Kwame Raoul and Terry Link, Champaign city council member Gina Jackson, and Steve Preckwinkle of the Illinois Federation of Teachers.

Obama will not be on hand for the photo op, instead resting up in Chicago for a busy day of campaigning in Iowa and Virginia later in the day Monday.
