Italian craftsman Genny Di Virgilio arranges a retail display of ornaments beside his own work featuring sculptured figurines of 2008 U.S. presidential candidates Barack Obama, John McCain, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Rudolph Giuliani, on November 14, 2007, in Naples, Italy. Dogs in the manger, yes, but never have I heard of presidential candidates in the manger until now. Or to be more accurate, carvings of the candidates.
As the photograph shows, Italian artisan Genny Di Virgilio has made creche figures out of some of the U.S. presidential candidates. (Is there someone in Indiana carving Italian politicians? I wonder.) We're pretty sure they're creche figures since our Italian-English dictionary tells us presepe means "manger" or "creche."
Apparently, Di Virgilio is following the national polls. Notice how Sen. Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani are standing side by side with a bit of distance between Sen. Barack Obama and Clinton while Sen. John McCain is definitely in the second tier?

The little Rudy character looks like the plastic toy Skeletor doll that my dog always pee's on.

Me thinks Genny is a very smart man...if you look at the national trends over 07, neither Clinton or Giuliani has ever trailed!

It's interesting to note that the artist has reduced all of them to the least common denominator, which is Hillary/Bill. She looks wonderful in that, uh, suit? I'm sure this is one artist who won't be the Uffizi. At least not any time soon.

Nancy, we said this to you in the 80's and we're saying it to you NOW. "JUST SAY NO" is a HORRIBLE thing to teach a child about drugs.
It should be "Just say, 'No, THANK YOU.'"
