It is a long way to go to raise money, but Sen. Barack Obama is headed to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico for fundraising events early next week.
The trip appeared on his public schedule Saturday and was confirmed for the Swamp on Friday evening. Besides raising money, Obama will meet with the governor of Puerto Rico. Both islands also have delegates for the Democratic National Convention to award.
Caribbean news organizations have previously reported on the trip. Caribbean Net News, for example, says the Monday morning event at the Ritz-Carlton on St. Thomas will have admission prices of $1,000 to $2,300.
Not a bad place to start the week.

I wonder if he'll get $2300.00 donations from dish washers, like Hillary did?

How about he and the rest of the candidates that are supposed to be there spend some time in DC doing their jobs? ALL of these candidates, both sides, are on a two year vacation from reality or should we call it "The Amazing Race"?

Good deal, Obama. Much Caribbean fundraising success!

He will not, Paulo, because his campaign is based on transparency, unlike HRC's which is based on obfuscation.
Good to hear that Obama is focusing some time on places that don't get much attention, like these protectorates.
My feeling is he'll get every delegate they send.

transparency? How about we get the real deal on the relationship of Obama and his 15 year friend and fund raiser Antoin Rezco? Apparently he has friends in Lebanon who can send him 3.5 million in a pinch and not to mention his ties to Syria. Read Phildelphia Inquirer Jan 29. Ask yourself where's the transparency.

ok, lets talk transparency, her tax records, nope, her release of the contributions to the clinton library, nope, her involvemnt with nafta, nope, her ongoing trial with peter paul, nope, and her relationship with the co-defendants in the rezco trial, which is fra more damging that the relationship that oabama has with rezco. transparency, no case there, hillary is clandestine.
