Ron Paul, that freedom-loving candidate for president, will take his support where he can find it -- including, it appears, from the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Nevada.
Paul, appearing on Fox News Channel's Fox and Friends this morning, was asked about his endorsement from Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Carson City, Nevada -- scene of one of the early caucuses.
Hof has reported being so impressed with Paul at a campaign stop in Reno that he has decided to raise money for him. Hof and two of his prostitutes, including a woman who goes by the name of Air Force Amy, also attended a Paul news conference. The women reported liking what they saw, but suggested they still want to shop around the rest of the field.
Jeff Greenspan, a spokesman for Paul, has said that the congressman from Texas does not personally condone prostitution, but doesn't think the federal government should regulate it.
Paul, who has run for president as a Libertarian and now is raising a lot of money as a maverick Republican, anti-war and also anti-abortion, had this to say about Hof's endorsement.
"“Now I don’t know much about him, but I don’t screen anyone who wants to send me money,'' he said on Fox today. "If they believe in freedom and want to endorse it and they want to give me money, what they do with their freedom is their business, but I don’t screen people.
"We got 37,000 donors in one day,'' said Paul, who has been raising big money on the Internet, "There’s no way I could find out what each individual believes in. As long as they endorse what I believe in, the Constitution and individual liberty, freedom means people have a choice with what to do with their lives and their money and what they want to do with their religious beliefs, but that doesn’t mean that if you believe in freedom you endorse what people do with their freedom”.''

Ron Paul is the people's choice and the facts are there to prove it.
Ron Paul dominates in straw polls, debate polls, fund raising, web traffic and grass roots networking. I have gathered the evidence to support this statement and created a website.

Gee, a legal business owner in Nevada is speaking up for a candidate. One would believe that it is every American's right to speak for the candidate of thier choice. But perhaps this isn't what the media believes. Perhaps the businessman has to be from a company in the military industrial complex or Blackwater to say anything that is important in political discourse. Yep, that's probably it, to be important you business has to deal in death.
Have a nice day!

Brothel owner throws support to Republican Paul
Anjeanette Damon (ADAMON@RGJ.COM)
RENO GAZETTE-JOURNAL
November 25, 2007
Perhaps nothing better exemplifies the libertarian streak that runs through Nevada than the state's permissive policy on prostitution -- the ultimate expression of the live-and-let-live philosophy.
So, it should be no surprise that the presidential candidate with the purest libertarian bona fides picked up some X-rated support while campaigning in Reno last week.
To be more explicit, Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof declared his support for Republican contender Ron Paul during Paul's campaign swing through the state.
The odd thing about it, however, is that it came about with the help of television news personality Tucker Carlson.
Carlson, who hosts the show "Tucker" on MSNBC, is traveling with Paul for a magazine article he is writing.
"Dennis Hof is a good friend of mine, so when we got to Nevada, I decided to call him up and see if he wanted to come check this guy out," Carlson said.
Paul spokesman Jeff Greenspan said Paul's campaign were surprised to see Carlson emerge from a limousine with Hof and two of his celebrity prostitutes to attend the morning's news conference at Lawlor Events Center.
Following the news conference, Hof said he was so impressed that he wanted to start raising money for Paul.
"I'll do it today," he said. "I'll get all the Bunnies together, and we can raise him some money. I'll put up a collection box outside the door. They can drop in $1 dollar, $5 dollar contributions."
Hof's prostitutes, Air Force Amy and Brooke Taylor, said they liked Paul's message, but wanted to learn more about the other candidates before making a decision.
Paul is an ardent libertarian who believes in returning the purview of the federal government back to what is articulated in the U.S. Constitution. He's a diehard supporter of states 'rights.
He's also a devout Christian, who opposes abortion.
"On a personal basis, he doesn't condone those things," Greenspan said about prostitution. "At the same time, from his campaign perspective, it's not the role of federal government and it's not in the constitution for federal government to regulate these things. The Nevada voters and Legislature have decided it is a legal activity
in this state."
Primary calendar finalized
Perhaps feeling the holiday spirit last week, New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner finally set the state's presidential primary date.
By state law, New Hampshire must hold the first primary in the nation. But with several states jockeying for an early position on the nominating calendar, Gardner had been holding out on setting the date. On Wednesday, he selected Jan. 8.
Here's what the final calendar looks like for Democrats: Jan. 3, Iowa; Jan. 8, New Hampshire; Jan. 15, Michigan (although four of the frontrunners are boycotting that contest); Jan. 19, Nevada; Jan. 26, South Carolina.
For Republicans: Jan. 3, Iowa; Jan. 5, Wyoming; Jan. 8, New Hampshire; Jan. 15, Michigan; Jan. 19, Nevada and South Carolina.
That's good news for Nevada voters on two fronts. First, it's expected that Nevadans largely will be left alone during the holidays as the candidates seek to nail down victories in Iowa and New Hampshire.
The races there are much closer than in Nevada and will continue to suck up the most attention.
Second, because Iowa and New Hampshire are so much earlier than Nevada's, the Silver State can expect some heavy campaigning for nearly two weeks in January.

According to AP Hof and his two employees were invited there by Tucker Carlson of MSNBC. Is real, honest journalism dead?
Posted by: John Cade | November 28, 2007 1:01 PM
To James,
Thank you for posting the original article from the Reno Gazette-Journal. As is often the case, the closer you get to the facts at the actual events, the more accurate is your understanding of them. Best would have been to attend the event personally, but a fair first-hand report is superior to what we get after this many retellings.
In General,
I actually don’t find Mr. Silva’s retelling that inflammatory. He correctly points out that Ron Paul supports freedom, but does not necessarily endorse what people might do with their freedom (presumably, as long as the activity is legal in that jurisdiction).
Perhaps under constraint of brevity, Mr. Silva did end up misrepresenting Ron Paul’ full positions: “anti-war and also anti-abortion”. Paul is anti-undeclared-war, and while personally pro-life, has maintained that government at the Federal level has no constitutional authority to manage abortion or any other social issue. This would leave social issues to the states or individuals (a la Amendment 10).
I applaud the trend towards balance in reporting. Ron Paul’s positions do not easily fit “sound bites”. In order to understand them in full, I highly recommend some follow-up research so voters can decide for themselves. I found www.ronpaullibrary.org a useful repository for getting more detailed information on Ron Paul’s platform, but there is ample information on the Internet from several sources.

Why is this a bigger story than Hillary accepting thousands of dollars from hundreds of "low-wage Chinese immigrants" who can't be found?
Hello? Is there a journalist in the house?
Posted by: Haze | November 28, 2007 1:34 PM
While it seems pretty clear that Mr. Silva is hoping to cast Ron Paul in a sleazy light to the readers, at least he gave Ron Paul's response to the situation. Anybody who appreciates freedom will immedately see that Paul's stance is the correct one and this will generate respect and more support for Paul. If people still disagree with Paul after reading this, then they were always hopeless and Paul has lost nothing.
This article at least exposes the thought that freedom means being tolerant of how others use their freedom, a very important message.
So, Mr. Silva, thank you very much for publishing this article.
Posted by: Mitch C | November 28, 2007 1:34 PM
I see that the tabloid media (formerly known as mainstream) simply does not rest.
I find it amusing that the comments are screened for "obscenity, spam and over-the-top personal attacks," yet I guess that standard doesn't apply to Mr. Silva himself?
Do you people have a gun held to your heads, forcing you to participate in such sleazy "journalism?" Or is ethics no longer a consideration in your field? Or do you really keep yourselves this clueless?
Either way, this fight coming from you dinosaurs gets more and more futile every day.
You have but one choice, start reporting in an honest fashion, or prepare for the death of your profession. You can only distort reality for so long, and eventually, even the tabloid fans will figure you out.
Meanwhile, your obvious attempt at character assassination is inspiring more and more people every day to seek out and to understand the attraction that is Dr. Ron Paul and his message of freedom and love.
Or to put it simply, your attacks create the fertile ground where this movement is putting its roots down.
Thanks for your inadvertent support!

The Baltimore Sun Company's history is among the longest and most distinguished in American journalism...or at least I thought it was. For this respected newspaper to grapple with this editorial in this manner is truly a travesty and highly dis-honorable.
Is it humor the Baltimore Sun is attempting? As Dr. Paul is the only advocate in the Republican Party against the illegal and undeclared war that has killed over 4000 great and brave Americans, is that funny? Is it because Dr. Paul wants to protect the freedom of unborn Americans too is that what’s funny? Is it because he recognizes the loss of our freedom through the unconstitutional and illegal Patriot act is that is so funny? Is it because he has all so opposed to the real ID card and loss of habeas corpus, maybe that is what is so very funny to a paper that represents our freedom of speech? Or maybe The Baltimore Sun believes that it is the devaluation of our currency and loss of or wealth that may well put millions to international bankers that will most likely put Americans into the streets eating from soup kitchens, maybe that is so darn funny? Well who will buy your newspapers then, who will advertise then? OPPS! maybe you didn't think about that while you conspire to hurt our country by making a mockery of our elections process.
By using the tactic of thinly disguised supposition as facts to create a smear report on the Dr. Paul’s campaign the only completely truthful, and fully consistent candidate running for president is deplorable. The use of supposition, conjecture, and innuendo is completely nauseating to say the least.
Not revealing MSNBC's Carlton Tuckers involvement as the architect of this unsavory scheme, and the continued repetition of it’s’ reporting is a blatant propagandizing tool exposing the entire façade as a group coordinated enterprise. This would give reason for busting the media monopoly up completely.

Why not report who wouldn't vote for a candidate rather than who supports one. I think you will get more insight to a candidate with that info. Take Rudy, ask the NYFD and NYPD how they feel about the man that led them on 911 and the aftermath. Their opinion far greater shows his leadership qualities rather than the fact that a brothel owner likes Ron Paul shows his.
By the way Rudy is hated by NYFD & NYPD.

Ron Paul is great for having a following, for raising money, for standing on and being a soap box, for awakening the Bush rage within us from all these years, for being a nobel American, but he is not the one for president of the United States at this time. Obama believes in the Constitution, and in many of the same things Paul believes in, he is also for freedom, but he is democratic, for ALL people and actually will be able to DO SOMETHING, and bridge divides, when he's in the white house where I can't see Ron Paul doing this. It's like once Ron Paul gets 'to the end of his rope' I see him sitting at the table with his hands folded in front of him and looking at all his supporters staring him in the face, and Paul saying, "Okay, what now?"

I'm sick of everyone acting like Tucker did this to smear Ron Paul! Anyone who watches Tucker and is aware of his general personality, knows that this is classic Tucker. He's one of those people that seems to have an absurd amount of friends. I imagine he wrote an article about this guy once. He brought someone he thought would like Ron Paul's message, and won over a new supporter. I'm guessing Dennis Hof can afford a $2300 donation, and that a lot of his clients are rich businessmen types. Not to mention his girls are probably very well paid.
Ron Paul is wise to not repudiate any supporters, being as they are supporting him, not vice versa. I welcome Dennis Hof and any of his prostitutes aboard.
Tucker is not only fiercely independent, he is a gigantic Ron Paul supporter, who has no intention of smearing Ron Paul. As Willy Geist said on Morning Joe yesterday, "Tucker is a full fledged member of the Ron Paul Revolution".
I can't wait to see his article in The New Republic.

Ruthie M posted: “It's like once Ron Paul gets 'to the end of his rope' I see him sitting at the table with his hands folded in front of him and looking at all his supporters staring him in the face, and Paul saying, "Okay, what now?"”
I can see how you might get that impression. Ron Paul’s campaign is indeed “bottom up” rather than the traditional “top down” campaigns of the other candidates. It’s interesting to note how much more leverage that has given Paul over his opponents. I can’t think of another candidate who’s had nearly this level of groundswell commitment.
In a way, I see this as a fair analogy to America and its historical success. America is one of the first examples in history of a country that was designed as a “bottom up” structure. The constitution echoes this when one reads it. The attempt was to limit government to what was necessary for function, while at the same time trying to build in enough checks and balances to keep federal government specifically limited. The founders seemed to rely on the voluntary interactions of a free people to fuel the nation.
Perhaps it’s the “bottom up” campaigns (and countries) which are which are the most equitable, responsive, and productive. Centralized control often advertises the *intention* of equity, responsiveness, and efficiency, but historically fails to deliver actual results that match the intention. Transferring more power to fewer “deciders” has inevitably led to abuses throughout history.
Ron Paul has set some standards and goals (enforcing constitutional limits, eventually eliminating unnecessary and unconstitutional federal agencies, etc.) After these governmental facades of security drop away, the groundswell campaign support could be replaced by Americans taking up the mantle of their own futures once again. His “Okay, what now?” phase might be to once again rely on the massive productive energy of the American people acting in their own best long term interests.
Maybe it’s time to see the voluntary interactions of liberty as the best fit for actual results, for a campaign, or a nation.

I still find it amazing that this endorsement by an obscure pimp is covered nationally, while I've hardly heard a peep about fmr. Rep. Barry Goldwater Jr.'s endorsement of Ron Paul.
Being that Barry's dad was known as "Mr. Republican" and inspired the Reagan revolution - and that he was a popular congressman in his own right from LA, I guess he's not important as some pimp according to your "reporters".
Consider this very serious statistic. When Goldwater ran against LBJ and the media railroaded him like it's attempting to do to Paul - only about 400 Americans had died in Vietnam. After the media won LBJ the victory, another 50,000 Gi's lost their lives.
Think of that and consider whether you want to repeat history when you vote in the primary.

I have read this page any printed it out I am A FIRM supporter of Ron Paul , and if a page that is not dedicated to Dr.Paul can have this many people standing up for him, then just imagine how he would be backed not just by this Country but by the WORLD as a president. Anybody that calls themselves American has to vote for Ron Paul.
hell I wouldnt be suprised if ol'Rudy himself isnt pushing the Ron Paul Button at the polls, I mean he is is callin himself Mr.9-11, and Americas Mayor.
The problem is that The Media has everyone beleiving that Rudy,McCaine, and Bush are what the Republican party is ,and they are what the Republican party stands for. I think anyone from Maryland has seen the damage that has cause by having O'Maley elected as Govenor, strictly for being a Democrat, look where thats gotten us 1.7 billion dollars in dept, and a massive tax bill.
This artical has not worked to sway me, it just further goes to show how much Dr.Paul loves and respects FREEDOM and that he knows that American is suppose to be a FREE nation.
I would gladly help open the White House doors to Dr.Paul along with any prostitutes, pimps, homosexuals, "tatooed freaks",and anyone else living thier lives as free as they posibly can, who want to come with him.
Simply put Ron Paul is not just A HOPE FOR AMERICA, he IS America, and could very well be the Savior of this great country, this land of the free.

His purpose and scope is to provide an necessary outlet for the 1% of fringe political groups and individuals who are normally disenfranchized with more mainstream candidates. He performs his purpose very well, much like Ralph Nader and Ross Perot that preceeded him.

In my opinion, I can hardly call a collection box to drop $1 dollar, $5 dollar contributions a legitimate endorsement. Dennis Hof said, "I'll get all the Bunnies together, and we can raise him some money. I'll put up a collection box outside the door. They can drop in $1 dollar, $5 dollar contributions." Dennis Hof is using marketing 101, which has created free nationwide advertisement worth thousands of dollars for his brothel. At one time the federal government owned a brothel and went broke.
Mustang Ranch brothel … “By 1990, the IRS was fed up … and seized the ranch, putting the federal government in the unique position of running a brothel. It failed and the ranch was padlocked for the first time. Four years later, the brothel's new owner — the federal Bureau of Land Management — put the once infamous painted lady in the desert ignominiously up for grabs on eBay.” http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,292166,00.html

Ron Paul gave the right answer. Freedom does not discriminate. Let us also not forget that prostitution is legal in most of Nevada. This is a states rights issue and that state says it is legal. Who are we to decide who can and cannot donate to a political campaign? Would any of us like it if we were excluded because we held a certain belief, or maybe we were different colors?
