I'm no fan of drug addiction, having seen many lose their lives to it. However, it is stupid to keep treating this disease as a crime. It's kinda like a law against restless leg syndrome.
Drug addiction is spread by money. Take the money out of it and the spread will begin to slow.
I know it flies in the face of all logic, but what we are doing is not working.
If you took all the drug related incarcerations out of our justice system, we'd have a lot of empty cells.
If you could wave your magic wand and completely eliminate all of the drugs which are currently illegal in this country, you would not decrease the disease of addiction by one person. They would just find something else to become addicted to.
