DES MOINES -- The sign war is well underway inside and outside Veterans Memorial Auditorium, the site of this evening's Jefferson Jackson dinner.
Six Democratic presidential candidates are expected to speak to some 9,000 party activists in a state where the nation's first voting is less than two months away. The dinner is viewed as the marquee event for Democrats in what is the final stretch of caucus campaigning.
Signs are plastered to just about every inch of space in the auditorium's hallways (see the Tribune photo below).
Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign smartly secured spots for signs in a parking ramp just west of the hall, providing a high level of visibility for the New York senator's air war as activists walk into the building.
Sen. Barack Obama's campaign was seen bringing in giant wood letters to spell his name. Each letter had Christmas tree lights around its border. The Illinois senator speaks last, likely after 10 p.m., so he will need all the fireworks he can muster for an audience that could be starting to think about heading for the doors by then.
The bartenders and wait staff are also making their way into the auditorium, as are some of the the hundreds of journalists who will cover the event.

The last 15 "Swamp" articles on the 2008 presidential race:
Obama and other Dems
Obama
Clinton
Giuliani
Obama
Thompson
Biden
Edwards
Obama
Obama
Obama
McCain
Clinton
Edwards
Obama
12 on the Democrats (including 6 on Obama alone and 6 on the other Democrats) versus 3 on the Republicans. This 4-1 Dem over GOP ratio is usual at the Swamp.
Mr. McCormick, why does the Swamp have a News Blackout on the GOP?

RNC Bruce is destined for one of the strangest footnotes in history.

After complaining for months, if not years, that the Swamp covers the Dems more then the GOP you would think Bruce would just stop coming to this site.

The count is currently 17-3 Democrat.
Guess to the math-challenged Left, that's "equality".
And the Left-crazies don't criticize the biased reporting, but instead make personal attacks on the person pointing out the bias.
