DUNLAP, Iowa – Linda Andersen was typing on her home computer when she heard a noise just beyond her backyard.

Was it a bird? A plane? Superman?

It was a bird – a Bell 222 to be exact – aka the Hill-a-Copter, landing in a patch of frozen grass next to an elementary school soccer field.

"We don't usually see stuff like this," said Andersen, 60, of Dunlap, population 1,200 or so.

Andersen said it was a thrill see the helicopter transporting Sen. Hillary Clinton around for the candidate's five-day tour of Iowa, but the spectacle didn't win her vote.

"We're kind of undecided," she said.

Undecided voters are just who Clinton hopes to reach during her Sunday – Thursday trip through 12 counties, which also aims to transform enthusiastic supporters into voters on caucus night.

"I hope to bring a new beginning to America," she said at an event at a Dunlap livestock auction barn. (Despite much scrubbing it still smelled of cattle.)

Clinton's stump speech was filled with a mini-biography of work experience that she asserts gives her the edge when it comes to picking a president who will be ready to lead on "day one." Clinton mentioned past work with the Children's Defense Fund in the 1970s, her failed 1993 attempts to reform U.S. health care and her success is creating a national children's health insurance program.

Speaking from an auction block, Clinton joked that the location gave new meaning to the idea of evaluating the candidates.

"I've been to cattle auctions in Arkansas before," she said. "But I've never felt like I was the one being bid on."

A livestock auction? Is Hillary doing another mysterious deal in cattle futures that will register another miraculous 1000% profit?

Look in your own backyard RNC Bruce. The Bush crime family INC.

Why did George W. Bush insist--with such fanatical certainty, despite the well-established, clearly-stated doubts of his own intelligence services--that Saddam Hussein was hoarding a vast arsenal of weapons of mass destruction? Why the insistence on this pathological disassociation from reality, which led directly to the death of thousands of innocent people? Why did he tell such lies, such cynical lies, such horrible lies, lies dripping blood, lies breeding more lies like rats on a plague ship?

That's easy--because his family was making money from it.

We're not talking here of the family's well-known association with the Carlyle Group, the world-bestriding "private equity" firm whose massive war-machine holdings have been so greatly engorged by Bush's sack of Baghdad. True, Carlyle has long been a profitable Bushist perch: Papa George was an eager bagman for the firm, cruising the globe with his plutocratic partners--like the bin Ladens--for insider contracts, secret buyouts and lucrative "privatizations" of public services. Even the L'il Pretzel himself was parked on the board of one of Carlyle's companies when he was at loose ends between scamming the shareholders of Harken and bamboozling the voters of Texas.

But last year, Papa retired from the firm, heading off into the sunset to wallow in the government swag that Junior had pumped Carlyle's way--$2.1 billion in 2003 alone. While he doubtless still has "interests" in a number of Carlyle's shady deals, the old man is through with the higher hustlerdom. No, today we're dealing with Pop's brother, William, uncle of the current president.

mcBS,

Please quote the land deal. Are you talking about the property he owns 5 miles from a propoosed freeway that has been on the drawing board for 20 years or the property he alledgeedly owns near the south suburban airport. Please provide links.

Or the like the current Senate majority leader and his land deals or a current prewsidential canidate and his land deal.
