Manchester, N.H. – Sen. John McCain is on a roll in the Granite State.

Today he nabbed another prized endorsement – this time from the Keene Sentinel. And the newspaper didn't just praise McCain. It also took an opportunity to jab two of his key opponents, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

"Where McCain most distinguishes himself from the rest of this year's Republican pack is in the areas of life experience and force of character," the editorial said. "He is not a single-issue candidate off on a frantic ideological jag. Although his political ideology has evolved through experience over the years, he has not changed his previous political positions en masse to appeal to the presumed prejudices and preferences of voters.

"Nor has he tried to craft a candidacy around an artificial personal who promises to save us all from terrorists, or from the devil. And perhaps most important, he campaigns with decency," said the endorsement.

So far, McCain has been endorsed by The New Hampshire Union Leader, The Boston Globe, The Des Moines Register, The Boston Herald, The Portsmouth Herald, the Valley News and the 11 small-town Salmon Press weekly newspapers in northern New Hampshire.

McCain is THE ONLY COMPETENT Republican candidate.

WOW,I thought he nailed Bruce Willis or Dennis Miller!!!!!!!

THE Keene Sentinel? Circulation a whopping 14,000?

This is, as the headline puts it, BIG!

For the context that Jill Zuckman doesn't give you: the Keene Sentinel is a Liberal Democrat newspaper that endorsed Democrat Al Gore in the 2000 general election and Democrat John Kerry in 2004. This Democrat paper's endorsement of McCain is thus likely to hurt McCain among Republicans.

The Keene Sentinel also just endorsed Clinton over Obama for the Democrats. Predictably, the Obama-loving DNC Swamp hasn't highlighted THAT endorsement.

I feel a pregnancy coming on for the sen. History always repeats itself and I predict a muslim baby just in time for S. Carolina.

"the Keene Sentinel is a Liberal Democrat newspaper that endorsed Democrat Al Gore in the 2000 general election and Democrat John Kerry in 2004."

"The Keene Sentinel also just endorsed Clinton over Obama for the Democrats."

Sorry, Brucebot, but the second sentence directly belies the first. If the Keene were indeed a "liberal Democrat(ic) newspaper" than, given the choice, it would likely nominate THE MORE LIBERAL CANDIDATE, which is undeniably Barack Obama.

Which candidate, heck, which Democrat, is to the right of Hillary Clinton?

You don't even know what you're railing against anymore, just attack attack attack, even with blatant non-sequiters such as your quoted statements above.

And the hits keep coming. Another endorsement, as the campaign grows. McCain is for real, after all.

Just think where'd we be as a nation if we had elected him back in 2000 instead of Bush. We, and the world, would be a lot better off and more secure.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, TO ALL"

OH GREAT ST. NICK McCain is COMING TO TOWN. SO YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU BETTER NOT HIDE, BECAUSE JOHN MCCAIN CAN'T TELL YOU WHY.

It's a shame that Billy Boy and what's his name,Pablo or Hector, whatever, aren't with us to enjoy the fleeting moment of Johnny Wacko McCain.

"The Keene Sentinel, a liberal newspaper on the western edge of the state, endorsed her [Clinton] today." [Jill Zuckman, 12-21-07]

Is the Keene Sentinel a Lib leaning newspaper? When even a DNC Swamp reporter acknowledges it's Liberal, that's CASE CLOSED.

These endorsements of McCain by Left-wing partisan newspapers is one of many reasons not to vote for him.

Hey Bruce,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... if you know what I mean...

The only one left yet to Endorse McCain is Hellary. She's still too busy endorsing Bill.

McCain Soon will take the Oval Office . . . couldn't come soon enough

The basic, hard fact is that John McCain runs BEST of all Republican candidates in polling for a general election match up -- the ONLY GOP candidate to actually defeat Hillary in a general election. Honor, integrity, and courage do matter! -- Jackie
