The Washington Post and ABC News have released the results of a new national poll portraying a contest between Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, the former governors of Arkansas and Massachusetts, respectively, which explains the infighting the national front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination, Rudy Giuiliani, hears on his tail.
While Giuliani continues to lead the Republican field in the national survey, his support is at its lowest point this year in the Post/ABC polls. Huckabee has more than doubled his support among likely Republican voters, and has erased the great advantage which Giuliani once held.
Among Republicans surveyed, support runs:
Giuliani -- 25 percent
Huckabee -- 19 pct
Romney -- 17 pct
Fred Thompson -- 14 pct
John McCain -- 12 pct
Ron Paul -- 3 pct
Duncan Hunter -- 2 pct
Among Democrats surveyed, support runs:
Clinton -- 53 percent
Barack Obama -- 23 pct
John Edwards -- 10 pct
Bill Richardson -- 3 pct
Joe Biden -- 3 pct
Dennis Kucinich -- 2 pct

ISOLATE THE CONSTITUTION OF THESE UNITED STATES.
DID I SAY CONSTITUTION.
YES I DID, BECAUSE I'M PANDERING TO THE PEOPLE IN AMERICA THAT DON'T BELIEVE IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. I AM PANDERING TO EVANGELICALS WHO LOVE OXYCONTIN AND DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TED OR JIMMY OR LARRY, OR DAVID.
I AM THE ISOLATIONIST AND I WILL ISOLATE ANYONE THAT ISN'T ONE OF US!

In August of 1998, Huckabee was one of 131 signatories to a full page USA Today Ad which declared: “I affirm the statement on the family issued by the 1998 Southern Baptist Convention.”
What was in the family statement from the SBC?
“A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ.”

Ah, yeahhh...
But uh Swamp, care to comment on the Democratic race: you know, the 30-point spread between Hillary and Barack?
Oh, that's right. Let's wait for a more favorable poll. That's the only time they count.

This is the best:
"Asked which candidate best reflects the core values of the Republican Party, 18 percent said McCain, Giuliani and Huckabee were each cited by 16 percent, 14 percent picked Romney, and 13 percent named Thompson. As if to punctuate the confusion, 16 percent said they had no opinion."

A Swamp story has a poll as its main topic, and RNC Brucebot has yet to jump in with a "Here's an anti-Barack Obama poll that the Swamp won't mention" yet.

BC,
I think Brucie's been calling in sick to the RNC the last few days. His usual incessant whining has been pleasantly absent this week.
Maybe the RNC offers paid vacations for its stooges?

I can't believe what I am hearing from Huckabee supporters. Cute Christmas cards are supposed to prevent the coming recession?
SCARY THOUGHT FOR THE DAY #26:
Huckabee and Guiliani have nothing for the economy compared with Romney's business and economic acumen. Will you still be complaining about Romney's faith when they lay you off and foreclose your home? Get real, and don't get me started about Huckabee as a foreign policy disaster. Huckabee and Ahmadinejad sitting across at a table???? That's classic, what a nightmare.
Take all of the t-shirts mocking Bush you see at the mall and insert Huckabee's face. That's what college kids may be wearing until 2012. Bush haters are going to FEAST on Huckabee, what a goober...there's a good image for the Republican stigma. Are you kidding me??
Why don't we all vote for an inferior candidate merely because he's not LDS. Evangelicals are going to ruin this nation.
