The Swamp

Hillsborough, N.H. – Inside a packed American Legion Post this morning in this tiny town on the Vermont border, Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat turned Independent, put his support behind Republican Sen. John McCain for president.

"I know that it is unusual for someone who is not a Republican to endorse a Republican candidate for President," Lieberman said. "And if this were an ordinary time and an ordinary election, I probably would not be here today. But this is no ordinary time -- and this is no ordinary election -- and John McCain is no ordinary candidate."

Lieberman was the 2000 Democratic nominee for vice president, and he ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for president in 2004. Last year, he lost the Democratic primary for Senate in Connecticut and ran in the general election as an Independent. Now back in the Senate, Lieberman still caucuses with the Democrats.

"In this critical election, no one should let party lines be a barrier to choosing the person we believe is best qualified to lead our nation forward," he said. "The problems that confront us are too great, the threats we face too real, and the opportunities we have too exciting for us to play partisan politics with the Presidency."

Lieberman and McCain are longtime friends who have frequently co-sponsored legislation, as well as joined forces to rally support for the war in Iraq.

The pair arrived on the Straight Talk Express, accompanied by Tom Ridge, the former Pennsylvania governor and former director of Homeland Security.

"I am deeply honored by Joe Lieberman's endorsement," McCain said, calling it an act of courage. "In an era when politicians so often put political expediency ahead of conviction, Joe Lieberman has stood up for what he believes is in America's interest. He has stood tall against the prevailing winds on national security and understands why we must succeed in Iraq and in the broader war against radical Islamic extremism. He is a principled leader, a good friend, and I am proud to have his support."

Holy Joe LIEberman is the 2007 version of Zell Miller.

Benedict LIEberman just wants to be chosen by McCain as VP, because he knows he'd never get it as a Dem. He also knows he could never win a "popularity" contest (i.e. election) on his own merits anymore, and this is his last shot at making it into the White House.

Will someone please just book Holy Joe a week in the Lincoln Bedroom with his Hero in Chief so the rest of us can get back to the business of electing Barack Obama as our next President?

"LIEBERMAN DECEIVES AMERICA WITH HOMELAND SECUITY"

I find it amazing that the GOP did everything it had too, to keep Joe Lieberman in the Senate. He drafted the Homeland Security with Fred Thompson. Just think of all of its provisions to consolidate our government under one RULE.
aka the "SECRETARY."

So I don't find it ironic, because he hates his colleagues, and he is like the devil in an hour glass awaiting to be awaken.

JOE LIEBERMAN IS SELLING YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL, JOE LIEBERMAN HAS BEEN UNWATCHED AND UNCHECKED, AS HE WALKS HIS FINE LINE TOWARDS THE AMERICAN REICH!

AMERICA NEEDS TO READ, AND STOP BEING DUMBED DOWN BECAUSE OF THE DOLLAR.

READ S BILL 1639, AKA SECURED BORDERS, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, IMMIGRATION REFORM OF 2007.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, I've never known that there was an ECONOMIC VALUE in ones nationality or ethnicity.
BUT HITLER DID. HE SAW IT WROTE IT, AND DID IT.

SO AMERICA MAY REAP WHAT IT SOWS. I DIDN'T VOTE FOR JOE LIEBERMAN, YOU DID, I DEFINITELY DIDN'T VOTE FOR JOHN ABSENTEE MCCAIN.

I HOPE ALL BILLS ARE FILLIBUSTERED AND THE GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN OVER THE HOLIDAYS LEAVING DICK CHENEY AND GEORGE BUSH AMIST OF THEIR COMPLICITNESS IN BREAKING THE FISA LAWS, AND SPITTING ON THE 4TH AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION.

IT'S IN ABU GRAIB WITH THE REST OF THE DETAINED PRISONERS OF DICK CHENEY, AND GEORGE BUSH QUAGMIRE AUGMENTATED VERSION OF AMERICAN HISTORY.

NOW THAT IS HIS LEGACY!

SBILL 1639

Hawks of a feather. I like McCain. I can't say that about Joe "the republican."

Lieberman is being his usual weasel like self. All he knows how to do is whine about Israel and gravel to whom ever supports anything that remotely benefits Israel. He cannot be counted on because he will switch positions just like he is doing now by backing McCain. I have never been to NH. But if the people in NH are so gullible to his weasel ways then I don not care to visit such a place

Sen. Lieberman claimed that McCain would put America first, which candidate among the Republican Party do you believe will put America first?

It's amazing how the libs and dems are turning on Sen. Lieberman. He is one lib / dem who makes sense. Perhaps the only one.

I thik a McCain / Lieberman ticket would kick butt.

joe Lieberman is neither a liberal nor a Democrat. Other than that your post is spot on. Next!

Joe Lieberman and John McCain need to reserve places at the nearest retirement village. They are out-of sync with the times. The old guard needs to be put to rest, and new blood not tainted by pro-Zionist agendas and global paranoia needs to take the helm. The parasite state of Israel (60 years of bleeding the American people of billions of dollars of support and military weapons and secrets) has benefited from the Iraq incursion. Now, Lieberman goes to the Hawkish McCain to "bomb. bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran, " certainly not for America, but to safeguard his beloved Israel. Lieberman needs to pack his bags and go to Israel and run for President there.

Wake up, people, Lieberman is using McCain in a last ditch effort to score one for his spiritual homeland Israel. He probably plans to retire there. The sooner the better.

Man love at it's best. Aren't they a cute couple!

Obama hardball.

A McCain-Lieberman ticket would discount McCain for Dems and leave only Obama as a viable candidate if he secured the nomination.

What was honorable in a Gore-Lieberman ticket becomes unpalatable and dishonorable in a McCain-Lieberman ticket.

Poor Hillary!

With such shenanigans, how could she have a chance?
Republicans have long been waiting for a chance to pound her out.
