MANCHESTER, N.H. – It's not just a dogfight in Iowa anymore.
Today's CNN/WMUR poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows that Sen. Hillary Clinton has lost more ground in the Granite State, dropping to a statistical dead heat with Sen. Barack Obama.
Clinton has lost five points and Obama has gained eight points since last month to bring them to 31-30 in the newest survey, with Clinton ahead by just one point. Sen. John Edwards stands at a distant third place, at 16 percent, with Bill Richardson at 7 percent, among Democrats.
Over the last several months, Clinton has essentially seen her 20-point advantage vanish as her opponents have questioned her electability in the general election.
On the Republican side of the primary race, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is still substantially ahead of the pack at 32 percent.
Sen. John McCain and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani are tied for second place at 19 percent. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has gotten a slight bump, moving up from three percent last month to nine percent today, putting him in fourth place ahead of Rep. Ron Paul, who has seven percent.

I do, indeed, support Dr. Paul for US President.
I see him as the only hope for a return to what
made The United States great- just that- the UNITED States. We were
formed as a Republic. By all definitions we are now an empire.
Empires do not persevere. I am deeply concerned for this country and
the world. I would suggest attempting to read newspapers outside of
the Western Hemisphere. The move towards Globalization is outlined in
many official documents from the CFR, TLC, and the
Project for a New American Century Manifesto: Rebuilding America's
Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources For a New
Century-(http://www.newamericancentury.org/publicationsreports.htm)
certainly one of the scariest documents I have ever read.
And guess who is and isn't a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission?
2 days ago, the most popular news story in the world (virtually
un-reported in the Western MSM) was that Iran stopped accepting US
dollars for oil from China, Japan and other countries that hold more
US currency than our own country does. What are China and Japan going
to do with their immense US cash holdings, if they were to dump it on
the open market, we would spiral into an economic depression that
would make the 30's look like boom times. The reality is quite scary.
Dr. Ron Paul has a solution to these problems; a Jeffersonian foreign policy, a smaller less-obtrusive Federal government and a return to sound (not fiat) currency.
President Ron Paul. Admit it, it sounds right.

You are on a roll !

This is huge! I suspect Obama numbers are even better because this survey was done before full effect of the Oprah rally and endorsement by Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. Looking good for Barack! Meanwhile serious turmoil is being reported in Clintonia.

Perhaps in a few months the Queen B's theme song will be Cold as Ice, as her campaign could be DOA.

A new Strategic Vision poll shows Obama leading 33% to 25% over Clinton in Iowa.

I guess now the Obama folks are applauding polls.
A Rasmussen poll released today shows Clinton leading Obama by three in Iowa.
A Suffolk University poll released today shows Clinton leading Obama by seven in New Hampshire.

Sleeping in the White House does not count for experience. We are a representative democracy - not a monarchy. Are you Looking to 'reap' eight more years of nepotism like the seven we've just had ? Not me.
Although her sputtering machine would have us believe that she is the 'electable' choice - this argument falls unquestionably flat - she will drive more republicans to the polls and does not inspire confidence in her own party... go look at the polling yourself.
I voted for this lady in her NY senate race.
I voted for her husband twice (would have again).... but ignoring all conviction and tri-angulating her response to Bush's rush to 'war' in Iraq was and is unforgivable. Afghanistan,as any a monkey knew, was and is a noble cause. If a person in her position could not figure out what was happening with our rush to a false war- in Iraq - then whatever limited experience she does have - counts for very little.
Worse yet, and far more likely, she knew exactly what was happening... she crunched the numbers and made what turned out to be a bad bet - IRAQ. Ooops! And now we're stuck with what is partly the mess of her making. I will NOT ever vote for anyone who supported the Iraq ruse.
Fool me once...
So NO Thanks Mama - I'm for Obama !
Barak Obama for President of the United States of America .
-Go Barry !

Although I agree with the Jeffersonian foreign policy and the less intrusive government, the move from "fiat" money to a gold standard is really a move from "fiat" to "fiat". It's taking money based on nothing but the value of worthless paper that is deemed valuable because it has a cool ink pattern on it (and a government's word) and making it money based on a worthless metal that is deemed valuable because it's shiny (and the government's word). People could decide gold or silver is worthless no less than they could decide paper currency is worthless. Neither serves a useful function that justifies 1/100th of it's current value.
Unless you're gonna peg the dollar to something TRULY valuable due to utility (not aesthetics) like land, then it's fiat all the same.
And that doesn't even cover the fact that there's not nearly enough gold/silver on the planet to properly back the value that mankind has created and put into currency systems.

I am so excited for Barack Obama. He will make an excellent president and he will heal America.

The fact is, this country -- all of us -- are tired of the same old, same old. Hillary's "the same old." What we see is what we know we'd get: More acrimony, more cheating, more slander, more scandals, more pandering, more divisiveness; more cover-ups for Bill, more behind-the-scenes deals with China. It is past time to turn the page. Obama offers a rare opportunity for Democrats; it would be a shame on the party to reject it.

I really don't think Jefferson is who you want to emulate for foriegn policy. His foriegn policy as President is widely recognized as being absolutely disasterous. His embargo of all trade with England and France did nothing to change their behavior but created economic havoc in the United States.
Jefferson's proudest achivement in foriegn policy was also his biggest departure from being "Jeffersonian". The Louisiana Purchase was tremendously important. However many of Jefferson's allies at the time felt that it was also enlargemnet of the power of the Federal government that was not sanctioned by the Constitution.

No, I don't live under a rock. Do you know how to read?
I didn't say gold didn't have any applications. I said it doesn't serve a useful function that justifies 1/100th of it's current value. Are you trying to tell me that gold's current value is anything but immaterially due to it's usefulness as a heat shield on the shuttle or it's ability to conduct electricity? Copper is also a very useful metal, would you care to trade some gold to me straight up for my copper? They have reasonably equal practical utility.
Unless you live under a rock, that'd be a fair trade, right? You don't live under a rock, do you?

What an idiot. Money is created and backed by our bank lending process. When you borrow $100K for your house, that money did not exist before. Most money does not exist in cash form, but as a cipher in a bank ledger. The fact Ron Paul does not understand basic banking and currency realities, he is an idiot and should be kept out of office.
