STORM LAKE, Iowa -- On the same day a new ad promoting Sen. Hillary Clinton's recent endorsement by The Des Moines Register was rolled out, Sen. Barack Obama unveiled a new ad that looks an awful lot like an endorsement ad.
As a variety of campaign scenes flash by, so do quotes from publications ranging from TIME magazine to the Register.
The script, as provided by the campaign, is below the jump:
His candor is refreshing.
His scrupulous honesty is far more presidential than the dodging of other candidates.
Barack Obama, his healthcare plan takes on powerful interests and that tells voters something important about him.
On Wall Street, he got tough on CEOs telling them to protect the middle class.
Because for Barack Obama, it’s not politics as usual. It’s change we can believe in.

The Des Moines Register's endorsement is so important!

For the last 20 years the country has been run by a Bush or Clinton. America is not a Monarchy - it is a democracy. We do not pass leadership from father to son or husband to wife. Our government is chosen by the people for the people, and I believe the American people are ready for a change. Barack the vote in '08

So where's the Hillary ad?

Great ad, very positive. No one wants to see Hillary's ad. The DMR endorsement for Hillary also said that Barack Obama would make a "fine president". I guess the Clintons arm twisting paid off for them in this endorsement, just like the others she's gotten. The Arkansas Mafia in action.
Obama '08!!

The Des Moines Register hasn't picked a winning candidate in over 20 years, statistically speaking Obama should be better off without their endorsement. Besides that, the Register did say those things about him so he has every right to use the quotes. Go Obama! Vote for Hope, Vote for Obama!

No one has any idea how much I prayed that Obama should not get the Des Moines Register endorsement. It's a curse!
I couldn't understand how supporters were hoping he got it. But this is something I understand very well.
After February 5th, the Des Moines Register endorsement will become something that some candidates will hold an all-night intercessory prayer so that they don't get the endorsement.

Obama is the first politician in my life time that I feel like I can really get excited about. I hope he wins. Hillary had one important vote during all her 'experience' in congress, one critical vote- to authorize the war. AND SHE BOTCHED IT. She didn't even read the intel report

A change from ones left hand to the right hand is no change. A change from a father to his son is no change. Neither is a change from a husband to his wife any change at all.
Obama/Edwards is the dream ticket. The spirit of our forefathers and that of the spreme being will see us through this phase in our nations history towards the dawn of a new era.
Vote Obama/Edwards '08!
God Bless the USA.

Awesome ad. He depicts hope. A new type of leader. I want him to win. He does not need the endorsement, although it may be "limelight" that everyone else is looking for, I feel it is a curse. There is such vigor within his campaign. He makes you want to take a stance and make a change. "GO OBAMA" He has an agenda for the people and not himself. "We the People."

Fine. Great. Just keep Hillary out of Storm Lake. That town is STILL innocent. Let's not ruin it.
