MANCHESTER, Iowa – Sen. Barack Obama has increased his lead in Iowa, according to a new poll released this afternoon by the Quad-City Times newspaper.
The poll shows Obama with a nine-point lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, as well as former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards.
The survey suggests Obama now has the support of 33 percent of those who say they are likely to participate in the Jan. 3 Democratic caucuses. Clinton and Edwards are at 24 percent, according to the Quad-City Times.
"Although there were some doubters early on, we might just win this thing," Obama just told an audience here.
The poll also shows former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with support from 31 percent of likely Republican caucus participants, compared to 22 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
The newspaper's full poll story is linked here.

Holy sinking Titanic!!!! Obama 9 points over Hillary with the caucuses two weeks away? And New Hampshire in a polling dead heat but with Obama soaring and Clinton sinking. This is what is called a sea change, folks. And hopefully the media will not become a tool of the Clinton smear machine as they become more desperate.

Go Obama Go !
Loved your zinger towards Clinton in yesterday's debate !

Why the only pool showing Clinton and Romney on a comfortable lead is the one from the F.ederal O.ffice of X.eating?
All the other pools just show that Obama and Huckabee are closing down or even turning the game around...
Seems like the White House is getting desperate trying to keep their Bipartisan ticket Clinton-Romney safe, so they can keep their 10 years tyranny for 10 years more. What is worse Putin or Bush? At least Putin doesn't keep using our forefathers words in vain...

Yahoo!! America is finally seeing the REAL Hillary, and they aren't liking it!
The Obama express is on the move and cannot be stopped.
Don't think the Repubs have a chance against Barrack, no matter who they polish up.

This is off subject, but we need a break from this 'all horse race all the time' stuff.
Lets get back the the War on Xmas for a change!!
Look what I found in my junk mail the other day. And just when we all thought the War on Christmas was lost, or won, or whatever...
* * * * *
Dear (Occupant),
Well, the war on Xmas continues. At the October planning session at the Bethlehem PA, Holiday Inn, participants reviewed past successes and mapped out future strategy.
Past Successes;
1. Created the image of an immortal elf called 'Santa Claus' Note the close phonetic similarity to 'Satan Claws!!'
2. Made people think they owed it to Jesus to go into debt over their heads buying landfill junk.
3. Had the 'reason for the season' start at the mall before Halloween.
4. Created in the minds of people an obligation to the 'bottom line' of huge international retail corporations and report it all as if it's part of a great Xmas season.
5. Vilified the word 'holiday'. Christmas needs to be exclusive!
6. Infiltrated the whole season with Pagan symbols and traditions like 'Christmas trees'.
7. Started a new shopping 'tradition' called 'Black Friday' thus bringing out the worst in adults and endangering children in stampedes and crushes.
8. Publicized above fist fights, assaults, tramplings, fist fights etc. Scheduled several throughout the 'holiday season'.
9. Created in the minds of parents the idea they can control their children's behavior by bribing them with Christmas gifts. This may be the most successfully destructive victory to date. (See Santa Claus is Coming to Town.)
Future Strategy;
1. Find ways to keep Bill O'Reilly talking about 'the war on Christmas'.
2. Move up the start date from before Halloween to before Labor Day.
3. Increase the number and intensity of the store stampedes. (Include some gun fire for God's sake! (Duh! No-brainer in America!))
4. Eliminate 'Turkey Day' entirely. It's proven NOT to be money maker. It's just in the way. A real marketing and merchandizing dog, (A day off shopping?! Get real.)
5. Make Xmas only a half day off. By noon most people know what they don't want to keep, and may trade up when they return the item.
6. More flaming hair at those Xmas Eve candlelight services.
7. Associate Xmas Eve with 'Evil' or the Biblical 'Eve' or 'Evil-oution'. (This one is still highly conceptual and Marketing is still working out the kinks.)
8. Create 'Christmas Purity Police'.
9. Create a 'Landfill Day' tradition on 12/26 similar to 'Boxing Day' in Canada and the UK, except instead of giving unwanted gifts to the needy, people will proceed directly to the landfill and toss them away. This creates a small post Xmas buying push without 'returns', and doesn't enable the undeserving poor among us.
Well, as you can see we have had some successes but huge challenges remain, so lets get cracking kids! And remember to register now for the post holiday debriefing in Nazareth, PA. on 6 June! (Oh, If only it were still 2006! ;^)
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Huckabee is rising in popularity on a shoestring budget because his message is what people want to hear. Outspent 20 to 1 by Romney he has twice the voters of Romney in Iowa. Nationally in one poll he is #1, as people begin to find out what he stands for this will just increase.

Check out this site... It describes Mitt's sudden decision to donate to a subsidiary of National Review and to join the NRA in 2006. Just in time for the election, imagine that!http://rightsmart.blogspot.com/2007/12/rom-money-buying-endorsements.html
Mitt has bought everything and everyone, but he can't buy the American people. The Mitt has hit the fan. Go Huck!

People need to realize now that this country will never elect Obama president, and it has nothing to do with his skin color. He simply does not have enough experience to be trusted with the most important office in the US. Not that Hilary could win either, she's just go too much garbage (not that she won't try to hide it). In fact, the democrats only hope is Edwards, and he's been beaten once already!

john D? Bruce? Jerry White?
Anyone wanna chime in on how the Tribune is devoting undue ink to Barack Obama?
The silence is deafening.

To Roger Morris vote comment-
Roger, seriously? I understand that african americans still are being driven away from the polls, but to say that Obama will lose because of the black vote? What? Until recently Hillary was pulling more African Americans than Obama was. Was she doomed to lose as well? I'm as white they come my friend, but your statements are based off of fear. That's exactly what Obama is trying to fight against. I like most of the nominees, but seriuosly Roger, Obama's "black vote" will help him, but it's his WHITE VOTE that you're not accounting for. He's been doing pretty well amoungst democrats and ESPECIALLY INDEPENDENTS WHO ACCOUNT FOR 40% OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. Think about it. Just think about it

So when are we going to see the post breaking down the latest FoxNews poll, which shows Clinton up 9 in New Hampshire or the latest CNN poll, which has her up 8 in South Carolina? How about the Hotline poll released the same day as this Quad Cities poll Swamp is trumpeting, which shows Hillary and Barrack in a 27 to 27 tie?
Swamp seems to pick and choose based on what's favorable to Obama. I'd suggest all who are interested in polls to simply visit realclearpolitics.com to get a more balanced picture.

I think the winner of this presidential election is the people of Iowa. Nobody gave Gov. Huckabee a chance in the media but the people of Iowa gave him a fair hearing. There is nothing fony about this man. He is a great guy. Sen. Clinton was able to talk her way into being the most experienced and strongest politician alive today. The media bought her claim and crowned her the invincibility title. The people of Iowa did not buy into her claim.
The people of Iowa have done a great service to this nation.

When the people understand that Huck's tax plans are a shift from income to purchases, and all their tax shelters like IRAs will be less beneficial, he will have some explaining to do. It probably will eventually happen but not without a major fight. In any event he's not the best salesman.

Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate who is supporting TRUE universal health care. Donate to his campaign and help spread the word.

I think Gov. Huckabee is the best choice for the republican party to regain the presidency. I'm registered as DEM, but will crossover if he's the nominee.

"Biggdawg says the Swamp picks polls only favorable to OBAMA." Well I think the Swamp gives the most frequent and accurate account of what's going in this election and I have been glued to this computer in attempts to counter all the garbage I read all day! I must say this is the most exciting election I can remember and i have been around a few years.

Well, you certainly told me, Jimmie L.
By the way, maybe you should get out more. Being "glued" to your computer just has such an ... I don't know... antisocial ring to it.
