The Swamp

DES MOINES – The crowd is sparse right now at Huckabee's victory/defeat rally, but that's not necessarily a bad sign – campaign staff hopes it's because everyone's still caucusing.

The 50 or so folks here now seem to be Huckabee's kind of crowd, mostly families with well-dressed and well-mannered children. More than once, a circle of prayer has assembled in the banquet room at the Embassy Suites.

The one place not getting a lot of traffic is the cash bar – and it's probably not because the Miller Light's are $4.25.

Just doesn't seem to be that type of crowd.
