By Mike Dorning
GREENWOOD, S.C.--The State, the largest newspaper in South Carolina, endorsed Barack Obama for president today as "the Democrat most likely to unify America."
The Columbia, S.C.-based newspaper posted the endorsement on its web page a few minutes ago.
"We...have a good idea what a Clinton presidency would look like," the paper's editorial board wrote in its endorsement. "The restoration of the Clintons to the White House would trigger a new wave of all-out political warfare. That is not all Bill and Hillary’s fault - but it exists, whomever you blame, and cannot be ignored."
"Sen. Obama’s campaign is an argument for a more unifying style of leadership," the endorsement continued. "In a time of great partisanship, he is careful to talk about winning over independents and even Republicans. He is harsh on the failures of the current administration - and most of that critique well-deserved. But he doesn’t use his considerable rhetorical gifts to demonize Republicans. He’s not neglecting his core values; he defends his progressive vision with vigorous integrity. But for him, American unity - transcending party - is a core value in itself."

As much as I love BArack Obama ans his message, I think it is a shame for a newspaper to "endorse" a candidate. HOw I can seriously trust this paper ever again, that their selection and presentation of the news is not biased. Thanks but no thanks!

Pandering at its best I suppose.

Frank, grow up! Nothing is ever unbiased in the media.
But fantastic for Barack! His message of unity and hope are shining through.
There is one little barb, I wish Barack would have made last night during the debate. When Clinton said she was prepared to take on the Republicans b/c she has been for "16 years", I wish Barack would have turned to her and said "and that is why I am the best candidate to lead our country forward -- who wants to drum up again the tawdry 16 year history of the Clintons during a general election? That is not change, and that's moving backward, not forward." Missed opportunity to stick it to her; but that's ok. Barack 2008!

Great endorsement. Unify the country in order to take on the economic trouble ahead. Go Obama!

An increasingly important weapon in the Hillary Clinton arsenal is the witness of her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton. In venue after venue, Bill has been called upon to defend his defenseless wife, swearing up and down that she is the solution to all our problems.
Having the endorsement of a two-term President of the United States is certainly useful. Who could doubt Hillary's qualifications now that Bill has vouched for them? Well, there's one answer, I can.
Underlying President Clinton's testimony is one all pervasive question, "How much credibility does he bring to the table?". I believe the answer is none.
How does one believe a perjurer, someone who deliberately and with malice aforethought, lied to a grand jury? And can't which is which I heartily concur with The State's endorsement of Senator Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President.

"I wish Barack would have.."
Why didn't he? Maybe he can wear an ear piece to feed him lines during the final presidential debates against a Republican...

Now we know for sure that Obama is faltering... unifying is one thing... leading is another - there is only one leader - Hilary.

if hiLIARy wasn't the scared one, she wouldn't be attacking obama so much
and if hiLIARy was a decent leader, she wouldn't need hubby to do her dirty work for her

she wouldn't be attacking obama so much in a race within the party? she would be serving tea and biscuits so the republicans can eat her later.
she wouldn't need hubby to do her dirty work for her, ala Michelle? Who needs a spouse to offer a scathing attack, on behalf of her spouse, on her husband's rivals?

Obama needed to state that Bill Clinton was impeached during a very partisian time in our history. And that change will not occur by electing someone who only stirs up that wicked partisianship again.
The country does need a presidential sequence of:
Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton

Bottom Line:
Like all of you. I know that health care is the most critical, and important issue facing the American people. Now, and in the coming elections. And like the vast majority of the American people, I want HR 676 (Medicare For All) passed into law NOW! "Single payer, Tax Supported, Not For Profit, True Universal Health Care" free for all as a right. Like every other developed country in the world has. See: http://www.house.gov/conyers/news_hr676.htm
“HR 676:
For church goers: less money to insur. companies and more to the church- lots more.
Srs on Medicare: save way over $100/wk. Because no more medigap, long term care & dental insur. needed. No more drug bills.”
But if we the American people fail to bring enough pressure on our current politicians to get HR 676 passed into law before the elections. We will have to identify, and replace all the politicians standing in the way of passage of HR 676. And, I think the best first place to start is with the politicians that blocked the bipartisan SCHIP bills for the kids. Passed by congress twice.
But what about the President. It was Bush after all that blocked the bipartisan SCHIP bill passed by congress to assure more health coverage for Americas kids. So which of the presidential hopefuls do I think will be most supportive of implementing the demand of the majority of the American people to have HR 676 (Medicare For All) passed into law immediately!
We have some very fine presidential candidates who would make good presidents. But none of the top Presidential candidates directly support HR 676, the only true Universal Health Care plan. So I am supporting Hillary Clinton. She is the only top candidate that has ever actually fought for universal health care before.
I have enormous admiration, and respect for Hillary Clinton. She fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds back in 1993. To prevent this disastrous health care crisis that is now devastating the American people, and America. She fought so hard for the American people that she risk almost completely destroying her husbands presidency. I haven't forgotten her heroic effort. If any Presidential hopeful for universal health care deserves my support, it's her.
Also, if we the American people fail to bring enough pressure on our government to give us HR 676 which we all so desperately need NOW! Then we will need the most skilled politician we can get on our side to broker the best health care plan for the American people that we can get. Though it will be less than we need, and less than we deserve. The politician I think to best do this is Hillary Clinton. The Clinton's are probably the most skilled politicians in American history.
The insurance industry, and medical industry that has been ripping you off, and killing you has given Hillary Clinton so much money because they fear her. They have also given Barack Obama so much money because they fear Hillary Clinton. They think they can manipulate Barack Obama against the best interest of the American people better than they can manipulate Hillary Clinton. There is no race issue with Hillary Clinton. The Clinton's are the poster family for how African Americans want white people to be towards African Americans.
As always, African Americans are suffering, and dieing in this health care crisis at a much higher rate than any other group in America. The last time there was any significant drop in the African American death rate was when Bill Clinton was president.
My fellow Americans, you are dieing needlessly at an astounding rate. In higher numbers than any other people in the developed world. Rich, and poor a like. Insured, and uninsured. Men, women, children, and babies. And we the American people must stop it. And fix it NOW! Keep Fighting!!! Never! give up hope. There are millions of lives at stake. Bless you all... You are doing great!

Bama wants to avoid answering the questions about his platform on issues but forgets Reagan fired air traffic controllers and broke the unions. GEE WHAT WAS HE THINKING?HE IS A POLITICAL LIGHTWEIGHT!!GOD HELP US ALL.

Don't you mean "Congrats Senator???? Obama!"
I think the '????' make it more correct as I'm not sure he's still a Senator since he has never actually done any Senate work for the People of Illinois.

Jack,
Can you compare and contrast Hillary's and Obama's voting records? For example, can you compare the Bills both candidates have proposed in Legislation? In other words, you need to substantiate your claims for the Hillary. Are you also saying that Senator Clinton has more experience than Obama? Maybe she does. She is much older. She is also been a part of the Washington establishment and democratic money machinery wrapped around special interest groups. Are you looking at all or most of the issues? If so, which issues? Do you think Hillary can be the best influence in the world to rebuild America’s credibility? What do you really know about the Clintons? Do you think the Clintons represent your interest and the interest of your community? If so, please elaborate.

People know a winner. And just think, the first state to secede from the Union, the first to fire a salvo starting the Civil War, and the state with the MOST slaves of any other state, has turned the page with its largest newspaper endorsing Barack Obama! Are they saying that his uniting America and Washington would be easy? NO. But they are happy that at least he will try. It's going to be Great, seeing Obama win in `08.

First, I commend the endorsement by the State and it's honest observation of Barack Obama.
I traveled all the way here from Waterbury,Connecticut on Sat. and Sunday, because last year I read Obama's book titled the Audacity of Hope.
I been following this campaign very closely and have watched, John Lewis, Andy Young, Charlie Rangel, Maia Algelou, Sheila Jackson,Bob Johnson, Magic Johnson and a number of other civil rights leaders of NAACP, who have proclaimed that the Clintons should be returned to the White House, over the election of a bright and concerned young man.
I remind you that the days of the plantation mentality is on it's way out, there's a rise of the post baby boomers, who have not been exposed to the brainwashing that has occurred among our so-called black leadership and their lust for control and an unwillingness, to release the power and shame of the playing the house negroes of the past.
Just recently, I came to believe it was time for me to move aside giving up the presidency of NAACP and to allow a younger generation of leaders to step up and would lend what ever positive experiences I could afford them.
I was born here in Columbia, South Carolina, and not far behind most of those I have mentioned at the age of 64 yrs.I too am a longtime civil rights leader and I have returned home to let everyone I come in contact with to know how disapointed I am, in those who betray the Dreams of Martin ,Malcom, A.Phillip,John,Marcus,Mary,Barbara, Dorothy,Delores, OBAMA and so many others.
Guess what, we are the defining factor as to whether the Democratic party is to survive and possibly win in the fall, not the Latinos as they would lead you to believe, remember where you heard it at and this is in no way a slight against the Latinos, but the true power of our vote in this primary is telling ,you don't have vote for the Clintons now, you can give Obama the same respect as they did for Hillary in New Hampshire, and if she wins the primary over Obama you can vote for her in the general election of November.
Remember this is a primary, not the general election and African Americans voters are one of the largest voting blocks within the Democratic party don't be fooled into losing all that power!

What has gotten into Bill Clinton, he of red-faced outbursts of anger?
Katha Pollitt of the liberal Nation Magazine, an unlikely ally of Hillary's "vast rightwing conspiracy" already gave one answer (http://www.thenation.com/doc/19990322/pollitt):
"We will never know the truth behind Juanita Broaddrick's claim that Bill Clinton raped her in a Little Rock hotel room in l978. The most you can say about it, which is also the least you can say about it, is that her story is credible ... investigations by NBC News and reporting from the Washington Post poked no major holes in it.
"She has as much corroboration as Anita Hill--friends who say she told them about the assault at the time, one of whom says she saw her immediately after with a bruised and swollen lip.
"So far as we know, Broaddrick has no motive to lie. Of course, the President's men are right to say you can't disprove an ancient charge like this.
"But the best Clinton's defenders can come up with is that rape doesn't fit his 'MO'--as if, after all the backing and filling and prevaricating and outright lying, we know what this man's MO really is."
More recently Christopher Hitchens, also of the independent left, has written
(http://www.slate.com/id/2182065):
"In my opinion, Gennifer Flowers was telling the truth; so was Monica Lewinsky, and so was Kathleen Willey, and so, lest we forget, was Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who says she was raped by Bill Clinton. (For the full background on this, see the chapter 'Is There a Rapist in the Oval Office?' in the paperback version of my book No One Left To Lie To. This essay, I may modestly say, has never been challenged by anybody in the fabled Clinton "rapid response" team.) Yet one constantly reads that both Clintons, including the female who helped intensify the slanders against her mistreated sisters, are excellent on women's "issues."
Then there was one of the original Washington Post stories, "Clinton Accuser's Story Aired"
(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/broaddrick022599.htm, that was very sympathetic to Ms. Broaddrick:
"Juanita Broaddrick told her story to a national television audience last night, saying she did not tell authorities 21 years ago of her contention that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her because 'I just don't think anyone would have believed me.'
"In a gripping account punctuated by sobs, the Arkansas woman told "Dateline NBC" that in her Little Rock hotel room, Clinton suddenly 'turned me around and started kissing me, and that was a real shock. I first pushed him away. I just told him 'no.' . . . He tries to kiss me again. He starts biting on my lip. . . . And then he forced me down on the bed. I just was very frightened. I tried to get away from him. I told him 'no.' . . . He wouldn't listen to me.'
Yet today, somehow, the media is more interested in covering the presidential "horse race" than looking at hard truths while professional "women's rights activists", lowly whistle and look past the individual carnage and the possibilities for reprise of Oval Office embarrassment.
On Tuesday, The State, the largest newspaper in South Carolina, in its endorsement of Barack Obama for president, editorialized:
"We...have a good idea what a Clinton presidency would look like. The restoration of the Clintons to the White House would trigger a new wave of all-out political warfare. That is not all Bill and Hillary’s fault - but it exists, whomever you blame, and cannot be ignored."
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton (of all people) makes cheap shots in last night's debate saying that Obama "never take(s) responsibility" and the media dutifully chalks up the debating point in her favor but doesn't ask, as they say in Spanish, "and how are things at home?"
When, in one of those silly moments similar to how much of the media fall all over the Clintons as if the presidential campaign was a Restoration, a lone voice from the back of the U.S. Senate, that of Daniel Patrick Moynihan, called out to remind a body that was about to rubber stamp Clarence Thomas' elevation to the Supreme Court about their responsibilities.
Anita Hill came forward and the rest was history. Unfortunately, it was too late to make a difference.
Unlike Hillary I do not believe in vast conspiracies. I believe much of the media reportage this season is better described as a confederacy of dunces.

I think Hillary Clinton is the most knowledgeable and experienced person to be president. She is the most likely to be able to take on the job of being president from Day One! Obama does not seem up to the task of being president. Hillary has a more detailed plan and a better understanding of the complex issues that we face. I also do not like the way Obama has used the issue of race to stir up emotions and cause a division in the Democratic party. To say that Hillary said something racist is totally off the mark and very mean spirited! The Clintons have a history of standing up for civil rights. We should not allow issues of race or gender to divide us! We should also not vote someone because of their race or gender. I support Hillary because she is smart and experienced, not simply because she is a woman. That is true equality electing someone based on their merits!

In the debate Obama exposed Bill and Hillary Clinon for not telling the truth, or misrepresenting and misquoting out of context. Obama came out more credible.Clinton was impeached for not telling the truth to the nation and disbarred. The leaders of america does not belong to one party -- Lincoln, Jefferson, Roosevelt, JFK, Reagan. Republicans and democrats have always respected them and quoted them.Reagan and Bush have quoted Roosevelt and JFK during their campaign. Bill Clinton is not in this elite category. He was impeached. Bill Clinton got elected with 43% of popular vote, thanks to Ross Perot who took 20%, mostly from Bush.Bill Clinton opposed welfare reform and balanced budget but compromised because of Republican majority. Obama is a philosopher-politician campaigning for CHANGE AND UNITY. He has succeeded in bringing new people and also appealing to republicans, like Regan did. Bill Clinton was not supported by independents or republicans. Hillary Clinton has taken money from the chinese Hsu indited in california. She is a racist, called Mahathma Gandhi was pumping gas in Kansas. The media has forgotten, it is worse than virginia senator calling an Indian maccaca and lost election.
It was Reagan who signed the bill for Martin Luther King holiday. Hillary discredited Martin Luther King saying Johnson (white)signed the civil rights bill. Bill Clinton is abusing and misusing his office of "Former President". Obama is a statesman and will not stoop so low to expose Bill Clinton's bad history. The media has the responsibility to warn Bill Clinton not to meddle in the primary process.

Clinton is an ex-president. He is stepping out of line a bit too much and misusing his position. And if he is going to keep on dishing out dirt -especially- completely fabricated dirt - he really does need to watch this space. The people are loosing patience with him rapidly.
Remind me if I'am wrong but was he not the one who also brought great disgrace to the office of the President and was impeached for telling lies on national televison and under oath!!
We need a President who can unite people, restore confidence in in the sytem and take this country forward to it righteous place in the sun. Obama is the one.

The only way the Clintons will win is by fighting unfair. The Clintons continue to get away with their underhanded strategies and lies that they have been using for the past 20 years ONLY because we (voters) continue to vote for them. When we vote for them it sends them a message that we don't have a problem with their bad ethics and antics. If we (voters) stop voting for the Clintons they will be forced to realize that their dirty tricks are no longer working. The Clintons seem to believe that Americans are dumb or NOT SOPHISTICATED enough to see their tricks -- guess what? We are not dumb and we are sophisticated enough. Barack Obama is committed to bringing our country together to meet the challenges we face. To win the chance to change America, we must first defeat the hateful Clinton tactics that are being used to tear us apart. Help turn the page on an era of small minded, deceitful, full of lies old school politics -- the next time you hear these attacks on Barack don't fall for them. Take time to do some research on Barack and know the facts for yourself. Don't believe the lies -- you're smarter than that.

Obama has skinny experience at the National level. He speaks well, has photogenic face and smile. He is NOT a Uniter. He is as devisive as Republicans. Who Likes Al Sharpton And Jesse Jackson ??
Obama Is Best BUDDIES With Al Sharpton And Jesse Jackson, So NO Votes For Obama !!!
People Should See Who's The Most Qualified Just Like In Todays Jobs....DUH !!
If You Vote Towards Character w/ Little Or No Exp. Over Full Experience, That Is A Very Poor Way Of Voting/Hiring. It Is Exactly What Happened With The Last Election, Now We Have A Knucklhead In The WhiteHouse.
This Country Is In Such A Mess Right Now, We Need Experience 100% Of The Way And That's Where Bill And Hillary Come In. America Cannot Afford "Lack Of Experience" At This Day And Time. This Country Needs A Great Economy Like It Once Did Back In The 90's When The Clintons Were In Office And Gain America's Reputation Back In The World, Lets Get Bill And Hillary (a 2 for 1 deal) Back The White House Again !!!
If Barack Obama Is President, I Will Not Be Surprised To See Al Sharpton Or Jesse Jackson As Vice President !!!!!

At the debate in South Carolina, Hillary Clinton admitted that Bill Clinton is standing up for her in this campaign. Historically, we have never had an ex-president stand up for a campaigning presidential candidate. George Bush, Sr. didn't campaign for George Bush, Jr. and he, George Bush, Jr., looked even stronger for his father not doing so. However, when Bill Clinton is campaigning for Hillary, it is a blatant indicant of the weaker candidate's inability to stand up for herself. Have American Democrats forgotten who the presidential contender is? If not, then why is she not in South Carolina? Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Edwards stand behind their husband and support them as they should. In this presidential campaign, Barack Obama and John Edwards have been the only stand up candidates. When running for president I consider standing up for oneself a display of strength. Remember Johnny Carson would open his show with Ed McMahon's crescendo, "Heeerrreees Johnny!"? Afterward, Johnny Carson would come out waving and walking toward his seat. In this campaign, Hillary Clinton is opening her act with the crescendo, "Heeerrreees Hillary!" and Bill Clinton comes onto the stage waving as he walks toward the microphone. But, wait a minute! Bill isn't the person running for president, Hillary is, have we forgotten that?
Hillary Clinton's campaign is likened to the Giants defeating the Patriots using management to play the line backer and wide receiver positions to win the Superbowl. Then, when the Patriots complain about the fraud, the Giants can say, you need to take that up with management as they receive diamond encrusted Superbowl rings without a single bruise. Surely the Clinton model of campaigning cannot expect the fans to stand for that. This just doesn't happen in American competitions. In America, the player MUST play and they MUST be judged by the efforts put forth IN THE GAME. Bill Clinton is looking for a legacy that surpasses honorable presidents like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Honestly, I don't think this man or his wife can hold a candle to these men. George Washington wasn't known for lying to the public about an extramarital affair he had in the White House. Abraham Lincoln wasn't known for committing adultery or serial sexual harassments while in office. Franklin D. Roosevelt never faced an impeachment panel in the Senate House. More importantly, all of these honorable men campaigned for themselves without the assistance of an ex-president. Before the ole switch-a-roo, when Hillary was fending for herself, America watched her have an emotional break-down on television. Just another sign that she's weak when it comes to a vis-a-vis political debate. However, when she's not face-to-face with her competitors, she's comfortable. She wants to get into the White House without playing in the game. It's time we tell Hillary Clinton to come out of the bleachers and either GET IN THE GAME or warm the bench so a willing candidate can get in. It takes more than the Clinton model of campaigning to fool me into voting for them! They sure had Nevada fooled; however, Barack Obama left with the most delegates.
Finally, these recent negative rants about Obama are blatantly coming from the Clinton campaign. Who else would stoop so low? Like the Democrats, the Republican candidates are engaged in a battled within their own party. Therefore, they currently have no competition to fend against within the Democratic party; it would be a waste of money for the Republicans to engage in negative campaigning at this point. The Clintons are relying on the stupidity of South Carolinians; however, I hope my hometown shows them we're smarter than that. I live right here in Westchester County, New York; the same county as the Clintons. They haven't done a single thing for us. In fact, on the blogs up here, the question has been raised: Name Three Things Hillary Clinton Has Done For New York. No one can name a single thing. If you'd really like to know about Hillary Clinton google "White Water scandal"; today, we call what she and Bill Clinton did "predatory lending." However, she speaks out against the same tactics she used to destroy the lives of others. Bill Clinton made Monica Lewinsky famous in the White House. Ask yourself, would I have known Monica Lewinsky if the Clinton presidency functioned the way it was elected to? Vote for the TRUTH and SHAME the Devil.
Well, I really don't know how well read you all are, but it would be obvious that Hispanics (this doesn't include Puerto Ricans who are Americans), would favor Hillary Clinton for president. After all, she's great at making bad judgment calls: Voting for the War in Iraq & Favoring Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. Honestly, illegal immigration is what led to the downward spiral of our economy. Therefore, Hillary Clinton is partially responsible because she favors amnesty for illegal immigrants and their relatives return their thanks by voting for her. To help you bring you understand the many atrocities illegal immigration has caused America, please read the links provided by Mark Gund: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t= 805435. As you peruse the various links you will acknowledge the problem quickly. It's unlawful under federal law for a state to become a sanctuary that houses illegal immigrants pursuant to 8 USC § 1324: http://www.newsmax.com/us/sanctuary_illegals/200 7/08/22/26488.html
In Economics there's a very important term, "all things remaining the same," our economy remained the same for years until illegal immigrants showed up and changed our economy. Our money is not circulating because the illegal immigrants are, or, have worked under someone else's social security number which led to the Social Security Administration having an approximate $520 billion dollar surplus that it cannot issue to anyone because the illegal immigrants cannot claim it. That's $520 billion dollars that would have been circulating had Americans held these jobs. Recently, Hillary Clinton offered approximately $150 billion dollars for her so-called economic stimulus package. If she would vote against illegal immigration we wouldn't need an economic stimulus package. Unfortunately, illegal immigration has cost us more than the war in Iraq. That's a fact! Don't be fooled by Hillary Clinton, she got it wrong the first time and wants to make bad judgments on issues that cost Americans trillions of dollars. WE CAN'T AFFORD IT! Let Mexico elect her so she can screw up their economy. Finally, when our county faced the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt sought John Maynard Keynes who developed what is termed “Keynesian Theory” to help bring us out of this recession. Nixon, Clinton, and yes, the simpleton George Bush, Jr. is using Keynesian Theory. Hillary Clinton’s economic stimulus package did not include putting money in the hands of tax payers for immediate spending; therefore, this was not Keynesian Theory. It was another “bad judgment call” associated with Hillary Clinton who reacts without thinking. I wonder if she’s ever heard of John Maynard Keynes. Experience, huh? Experience in making bad judgment for the State of New York and this Great Nation.

South Carolinians go to the polls Saturday and show Senator Clinton, her husband is not running for President. I think it is a disgrace that Hillary Clinton would leave a state for her husband to defend her positions, while she chases the bigger states. As Obama said in the debate, I can’t tell who is running for President, Bill or Hillary. Is this an indication on how she will defend the issues as it relate to African Americans if she is elected? Delight Hillary with the same affection she has shown toward the voters in South Carolina, vote your choice, and leave her out of the equation.
Hillary Clinton was a Republican (Barry Goldwater era) before she married Bill Clinton and she is still a Republican. She was just a woman, “Standing by Her Man” who happen to be a Democrat and only found her voice last week. Give me a break, “This is the biggest fairy tale of a marriage, 30+ years of government experience, and a useless health care plan (8-years as the first lady and 6 years as a senator and the American people still don’t have a health care plan. The sadness part to all of this is the American people are all being used.
How can how anyone, especially my Black brothers and sisters could defend Bill and Hillary after the low tactics they have displayed since Iowa. Bob Johnson and Charlie Rangel were the lowest. They have a right to support Hillary and Bill, but you do not have to tear down another man to gain ground.
Rep. Charles B. Rangel said in a CNN interview that Obama was "absolutely stupid" in his part of the exchange over the relative influence of Rev. Martin Luther King and President Lyndon Johnson in passing civil rights legislation..” My comment to Rep. Rangel, Bob Johnson, and Andy Young our so-called African American leaders, be careful of the message you are sending our youth.
I hope everyone will take time to examine the records of each candidate and vote accordingly. I do not think Bill or Hillary wants anyone to start talking about, Whitewater, Monica Lewinsky, or the IMPEACHMENT of our BELOVED BLACK BROTHER, President Bill Clinton. As always, the Clinton’s prevails, and everyone takes the fall through firing or death and his or her hands are clean.
Stop buying into the belief that Hillary Clinton will be better to take over the country, DAY ONE. Obama’s 7+ years in the Illinois State Senate and 4+ years in the U.S. Senate, out shines Hillary’s 7+ years in the U.S. Senate. Use the internet it is a great tool to help you with the issues.
Wake Up America, the Republicans want Hillary to win, she will easily be defeated in November if she gets the nomination.

As a Hispanic from California, MY ABSENTEE VOTE HAS BEEN CAST FOR THE MOST QUALIFIED CANDIDATE, "BARACK OBAMA".
SOUTH CAROLINIANS DON'T BE DECEIVED BY BILL CLINTON,AND HILLARY.
HILLARY CAN'T DELIVER A GOOD HEALTH PLAN, HER PLAN IS A "MANDATED PLAN". IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT? TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS, LET THEM KNOW WHAT A DECEIVING CANDIDATE YOU ARE DEALING WITH. WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS DID SHE HAVE IN THE WHITE HOUSE? WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS HAS SHE DONE AS SENATOR, ONLY "TALK,"TALK, BUT NOTHING YOU CAN PIN HER ON.
SOUTH CAROLINIANS, I URGE A VOTE FOR "BARACK OBAMA"

Congratulations to the wise editors of the largest SC paper for endorsing Senator Barack Obama. The campaign has gotten ugly and I am hoping the good people of South Carolina will not fall into the trap being set by the "dead hand(s) of the past" which I consider the Clintons and the Republicans to be holding on to. What we need now is a leader who can lift up our spirits and energize us. Senator Obama is a breath of fresh air and just what our nation needs to leave all that partisan bickering behind. He's a Constitutional lawyer who has the greatest respect for our heritage and I feel I can trust him with putting our nation back on the right track. My adult children are excited by the prospect of voting for the future....Hillary/Bill and John McCain are so 20th century and everything we need to put behind us.

I love the way newspapers back political candidates when their job is to report the news not influence others!
Yeah, go after those evil Clintons. Good thing we have good honest Americans like Carl Rove, Roberto Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Larry Craig and Tom DeLay. Lets not forget Scooter Libby. And Cheney keeping hush hush about Enron and Haliburton continues to ensure our national security.
I'll trade a Monica scandal, a record surplus, booming economy, leaps and bounds in technology and the lowest percentage of people on welfare in over 30 years- instead of this mess were in now!!

Can anyone tell me why you think Obama is so wonderful when he just got busted for his corrupt relationship with Rezko, you know, the slum lord? He defended Rezko instead of the American people living in unsanitary conditions like they were no better than sewer rats! And, this is who you want for our next president?
How about the website Obama shut down his website at www.islamichope.com ? It clearly showed Obama as a member of this Islamic organization claiming they want to unite all colors and religions but there was not one white or latino person posted on that whole site!
Obama has no problem slinging mud at the Clintons but when it comes back his way he cries "unfair" like a little baby! We don't need a whiner running this country folks.
And, why on earth would you elect a president by the name of Barack "Hussein" Obama-Osama? That there speaks volumes.. it's one of those things that make you say "Hmmmm"

Thank you Mary and others on this post for your insightful and excellent responses. I am in TX following what's going on in SC and I was wondering when will I see intelligent people speak out for truth . I am so disturbed of hearing the lie about Bill and Hillary have done so much for African Americans, or for Americans period. Black people and all others need to learn the facts and educate themselves about the political and economical history of this country. I am so sick of black folks jumping on a band wagon of ignorance behind useless black political leaders, and political preachers who use black communities and the church for their personal monetary gain. For our future pray to end the slavery of minds. I am a black woman who has the sense to seek truth. It amazes me that in 2008 there are still so many mental slaves in this country when America is the land of opportunity for intelligent freedom. Obama is for ALL AMERICANS, and that is what this country needs!

I want to thank this newspaper, and the state of South Carolina for endorsing Obama. I, too, have had 45 years experience in the corporate world. When there was a boss like Hillary, who acted like she always knows what's right and had no hesitation about criticizing others, it was stressful--the calm warm smile of a man like Obama, who had no desire for confrontation, always gave a peaceful pleasant working atmosphere--THANKS for a wise voting state!!!!

How I wish to delebrate more, but I believe that Few wards of facts shALL BE AN INGREDIENTS FOR THE WISE ONLY BUT NOT THE FOOLS.
aS SUCH NO ONE SHOULD BE FOOLED ONCE MORE. We should always prepared to be wised up as shown by the vbast majority of Iowa, New Hampshire -yet to be determined on thr Recounts althugh won by Hillary and The Great people of Nevada joined by the Wise people of South Carolina.
I am sure fellow young elites the students and the middle class of other states are getting involved, who I deemed already Wised up.
May I burrow from Tedy Kennedy, who said recentlly: 'I have waited and finally concluded who he feels shall bring Unity and good Leadership and finally found it, to be Barack Obama' That is what I termed good work of an elderly congress man, whose family had contributed immensely in the Politcal live of American for decades.
As such fellow Americans, this is the chance once more, refuse totally to be fooled by the Politica Egoism of the Clintos and do not be brained washed into loosing your votes to Unwinable Presidential Nominee, so as not to give an easy pray to Republican would be Republican Presidential nominee come Nowember 2008.
Long Live American Democrats, Long Live Independents and Long Live Converted Republican.

Barack Obama's Health Plan
Obama is offering a universal health plan for all America. For those of you in America who are familiar with the European universal health plan, you know that that means long waits for the doctors on the plan and even longer waits for surgical procedures. One family member we know waited three years for a gall bladder operation - the list was long! Many Europeans come to America or India or other countries for surgery because they need the surgery before it can be offered on a waiting list.
The Washington's Post describes Obama's health care as follows - I've copied it verbatim out of the article....
"Obama's health plan is really slow-motion Medicare for all. And the problem with Medicare-like price controls is that they reduce the number of people willing to provide medical services, which always means longer lines and rationing".
Of course, you don't have to take the Obama Health Plan....if you want efficient health care, you can try to keep the doctor you have now and be sure that Barack and Michelle will go to their own private doctor to avoid long lines. They can afford it as will other government officials. If supply and demand prevail, you will be fortunate if your choice of doctor can still serve you and if he/she does, what will their charges be for private care AND you will pay for it OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET. Can you afford it? Doesn't sound like a good plan to me - and if you're a senior like I am, you know how often you need to go and the urgency that sometimes comes with it. He suggests that low-poverty persons and illegal immigrants will have free health care.... "Everyone will have health care". California is already adopting this program. Barack always sounds good until you delve into his ideas and see them for what they are.
