NASHUA, N.H.—Republican Mitt Romney says he's not predicting a victory in tomorrow's nation-leading primaries and said regardless of the outcome, his is a 50-state campaign for the nomination.

With the former Massachusetts governor now running behind Sen. John McCain of Arizona in most Granite State polls heading into the voting, Romney and his staff also noted that a second-place finish would still make him the biggest vote getter of the early state contests.

Romney finished second to Mike Huckabee in last week's Iowa caucuses, but won Saturday's little-regarded Wyoming caucuses. Losing in New Hampshire would be a serious blow to Romney, who has spent millions of dollars in advertising and organization in both Iowa and New Hampshire.

``I will have come in second in Iowa, first in Wyoming, second in New Hampshire. That will mean that I probably have more votes than anybody else in those first three states,'' he said.

Attempting to recast the primary contest after months in which he was the New Hampshire frontrunner, Romney said a McCain loss "would probably end" the Arizona senator's campaign.

"This was the race he won in 2000, handily won in 2000" against George W. Bush, Romney said. "He has an organization here. He has a network here. He began here with a lot more than I did."

As he made several final-day campaign appearances, Romney showed little sign of easing off on his criticism of McCain as the former Massachusetts governor sought to portray himself as an outsider in contrast to the Arizona senator.

"There's no way that somebody inside Washington, a Washington insider, is going to be able to turn Washington inside out," Romney told the Nashua Rotary Club.

"It's one reason why I'm running," he said. "I don't have years and years of favors I have to repay, lobbyists who raise all sorts of money for me, deals I've worked out from the cloakroom. I get in from the outside. I've brought change to every organization I've been involved with."

And he again pointed to Democrat Barack Obama's success in Iowa in defeating a field of four other current or former senators, including Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, who all stressed their experience. He said Obama, a first-term senator from Illinois, won as an outsider campaigning on a theme of change that would hurt McCain.

"We're going to have to have somebody who can say, 'I'm not only am from the outside, I'm somebody who knows how to bring change and I can bring the change that America needs.'"

The theme of change is also the concept of a two-minute closing TV ad that Romney is airing on election eve. In Iowa, Obama and Clinton each aired two-minute closing TV ads leading up to the caucuses.

"If you want to change Washington and get America ready for the future, America needs you now," Romney says in the ad.

At one point at the Rotary meeting at the Nashua Country Club, Romney began to tell the members a final story "because we're ending the campaign of New Hampshire in New Hampshire." Then, he quickly clarified, "I'm not ending my campaign in New Hampshire. Let me be clear about that."

Some members of the local Rotary could also be heard grumbling after one member told Romney she had a question that had not been asked in the campaign so far. She asked Romney for creative solutions to deal with an "extreme overpopulation of pets" and the answer should not involve taking the nation's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants and "giving each of them a cat and dog on their way back home."

"I don't know how many excess a pack of pets there are in this country, to be honest about it. I was pretty well briefed for the debates," Romney said to laughter. "The cat and dog population and guinea pigs and the one that's most concerned, of course, gerbils…I intend to become better informed."

Here's the "straight talk" on McCain in case someone out there still believes this old man is a moderate.

From the Carpetbagger report:
So here’s what you need to know about John McCain: He isn’t a straight talker. His flip-flopping on tax cuts, his call to send troops we don’t have to Iraq and his endorsement of the South Dakota anti-abortion legislation even while claiming that he would find a way around that legislation’s central provision show that he’s a politician as slippery and evasive as, well, George W. Bush.

He isn’t a moderate. Mr. McCain’s policy positions and Senate votes don’t just place him at the right end of America’s political spectrum; they place him in the right wing of the Republican Party.

And he isn’t a maverick, at least not when it counts. When the cameras are rolling, Mr. McCain can sometimes be seen striking a brave pose of opposition to the White House. But when it matters, when the Bush administration’s ability to do whatever it wants is at stake, Mr. McCain always toes the party line.

Not surprisingly, I agree with all of this. For that matter, the closer one looks at McCain’s record, the easier it is to believe he won’t be president, conventional wisdom notwithstanding.

The odd part of McCain is that he’s taken just enough positions against the conservative agenda to make him unappealing to GOP primary voters and just enough positions with Bush to make him unappealing to Dems.

For the right, the campaign ads almost write themselves. Republicans were united on Bush’s tax cuts, except McCain. Republicans were united on the "nuclear option" for Bush’s judicial nominees, except McCain. Republicans generally opposed campaign-finance reform, the patients bill of rights, limits on torture, and Ted Kennedy’s immigration bill. McCain broke party ranks on all of them. He even opposed a constitutional amendment on gay marriage.

Go Mitt!!

McCain is toast anyway. Day old, cold, dry toast. The idea of this man becoming president of the United States should send shivers down every rational person's spine. Here is a man who suffered the horrors of war and did not have the wisdom to try to head off Bush's rush into the unnecessary war in Iraq. He still talks about invading Iraq to get Saddam was a good thing. He was the one who took a small army of body guards through a market in Baghdad and came back home to spread the lie that Baghdad was safe.

McCain is still fighting the war in Iraq, and is a mean, cold, fear mongering and war mongering old man, who sucked up to GW Bush in the worst possible way.

I wasn't impressed with McCain's behavior at the debate. I realize that he is known for being a hot-head, so I shouldn't have been surprised, but he seems down-right mean.

I think it is OK to disagree with your opponents on substance, but the level of his emotionalism, the degradation into mean-ness was very unappealing.

Our president needs to be rational in the face of opposition for there will be plenty of it. Thumbs down on McCain and Huckabee.

I wonder what secrets McCain gave to the enemy since torture works? We should be hanging traitors, not electing them President.

Actually the woman had a pretty good idea!

Good post, John E. Carpetbagger is right. Time to shed the myth that McCain is a moderate – just like it's time to stop this nonsense that Obama is non-partisan. Every position he holds lines up perfectly with the Democratic Party's platform. He is a liberal Democrat, just like McCain is a conservative Republican. And I am perfectly fine with both of those – as long as people are not misrepresenting themselves.

WHO IS THE BEST CANDIDATE?
John McCain has been in DC for 25 long years. He is a big part of the Washington grid-lock problem. He is aging like a fossil at 71 years old. He has ridden his war hero status for a long time with small results in Congress. Military leadership can hardly translated to excellence in real life management, because you only has one acceptable way to respond to your seniors which is "YES SIR!” How can any one believe he can revitalize the country? He should be getting ready to pack up his office and move to Florida for his retirement.
Reagan changed party and he worked out fine. Pro-life, pro-choice is not the most important issue facing this country. I don’t give a darn if he is a Mormon or a Jew. We need someone to win back the leading role in the world economy. Romney has the records of success to show for. He is a proven winner in both the private and public sectors. You need a successful economy to create jobs.

John mccain is indeed a crusty old man who would not make a good president.

Mccain better get on his knees tonight and pray that a lot of independents vote for him tomorrow or else he will get eaten alive by the real ruepublicans and Mitt Romney.

I never thought I would be rooting for that empty suit political ightweight Obama but I sure hope he sucks up every last independent vote in NH and Mccain is left out in the cold.

How can anyone seriously consider a 72 year old washington lifer for the role of President of the United States. The problems that we are facing as a nation require someone who isn't dependent upon Geritol and BenGay to get up in the mornings.

McCain is toast anyway when we get by these first two quirky states. Huck and McCain's rise has been totally media driven. Neither is a true conservative. The media doesn't want the conservative to win who is Romney or at worst Guliani.

"MITT PUTS ON HIS MITTS AND SPEAKS"

JOHN YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO TALK ABOUT THE CONTRACTORS, NOT IMMIGRATION. JOHN YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO TALK ABOUT GETTING THE CONTRACTORS IN IRAQ THEIR MONEY. JOHN YOU ARE OUT OF STEP NOW.

MITT YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO TALK ABOUT HILLARY, NOT ABOUT ME. MITT YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO SAY "THE GREAT RONALD REAGAN" AND NOT REFER TO HIM AS RONALD REAGAN. MITT YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO STICK TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, NOT IMMIGRATION REFORM. MITT YOU KNOW YOU ARE FLIP FLOPPING LIAR.

OH SHUT UP JOHN, YOU ARE A BUSH LOVING FREAK. OH SHUT MITT, YOU ARE MIKE ARE PHONY HOLY ROLLERS AND WULD PARDON EVERY PETIPHILE IN THIS COUNTRY IF YOU COULD.

YOU WARREN JEFF WANNABEE!

SO JOHN YOU ARE A TERRY SCHIAVO CRYBABY WITH A ILLEGITMATE CHILD. HEEHEEHAA HEEE HAHAHA...

OH LETS JOHN, OH LETS MITT, OH LETS JOHN, OH LETS MITT. TAP TAP,TAP TAP, OH LETS!

I just adopted 2 stray cats. people need to get their pets spayed and neutered and take unwanted animals to shelters. It is sad that people are not more sensitive to the cause. but I think a lot could be handled by reminding people to get their pets fixed.

I hope we've seen the last of McCain after tomorrow. He is offering America nothing. Romney has more to give.

GO ROMNEY!!!!!!!!!! Beat McCain!!! McCain is a traitor to conservative causes. Have we forgotten?

This video shows that Mitt is a "flip flopper"

Candidates in the past told Mitt "you're not pro-life or pro-choice" "you're multiple choice!"

When a leftist knuckledragger like John E. is attacking your candidate, you know he's doing great and will win. Good news for McCain! Of course McCain is a conservative, the same way that Obama and Hillary are raging leftists.

Romney was actually speaking about himself, unless you're one of the dozen people that lives in Wyoming and thinks that "win" matters.

McCain has taken this race by storm and will win the Granite State again. Romney has a lot to fear because a win puts McCain in the driver's seat in South Carolina, where he's got a great organization, and in Michigan which he also won four years ago.

Romney NEEDS South Carolina. McCain doesn't. McCain's ahead in all the polls. The press loves McCain because his campaign actually lets you talk to the candidate instead of going through three layers of press secretaries like Romney's and Clinton's.

McCain's path to the nomination is clear and if he faces Hillary in the general election it won't even be close. Obama might put up a fight but I'd love to measure McCain's foreign policy experience against BO's. It won't be a flattering picture for the democrat.

Don't believe the multi-million dollar negative attack ads by the richest candidates in America.

Believe the multiple nickel ads posted right here by us ordinary Americans.

Mitt is a Flip Flop. Watch this youtube video of several altering statements by Mitt placed back to back on this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inmijrUIA-4&f eature=related

Watch the video for yourself. Candidates in past stated " Mitt is not pro-life or pro-choice" "He is multiple choice!"

We need real leadership in America.

I support Mike Huckabee 100%

When you're filling your car with $3 gas and buying some $2.65 a dozen eggs, remember who is running on stopping deficit spending. The war for oil is what caused prices for anything that eats grain to skyrocket. When THOSE prices rise, the fresh fruit seller raises his prices again, now you have some nice $5 a pound grapes in the market. Laugh all you want, it's YOUR money being spent. YOU'RE the one going to pay $250 a week for groceries. Still think Ron Paul sounds like a bad idea? He's the ONLY candidate, Republican or Democrat that is running on reducing your cost of living. Maybe you have plenty money. Me, I'm not so rich.

If Romney wins in NH it puts not just McCain out of the race but everyone else besides Rudy. It will essentially become a two man race. Go Mitt!

McCandie is gonna lose in SC regardless due to the success of Turd Blossom's smear campaign in '00. It's the hurt that will keep on giving.

Let's see if McSleepy wants to hug Bush after SC.

A vote for McCain is a vote for more of the same -- continued presence in Iraq for the rest of our lives, higher taxes to keep up with the rampant spending, amnesty to illegals.
It is time for Real change from an outsider -- Mitt Romney.

I, who has been a Republican
lo these many years, don't see
one candidate of either party
that I want to be President.
The first time ever this has
happened where I am concerned.
Me? I was alive and well when
Franklin D. Roosevelt was
President albeit very young.

romney's 80 millions is going to the toilet.
he is actually a good man i believe. but he by mistake follows the advises of his high paid also hair-perfect managers and he is now known as the world's most famous american whinner and flip-flopper.
now his poll falls to single digit (gallop poll) his campaign manager can start looking for jobs as car salesman.

Even if McCain wins NH, I doubt he'll get the nomination. That will go to Romney, Rudy, or Huck.

I can't stand any of them, but the thought of Romney getting the nomination makes me ill. I sure hope Rudy or Huck can rally.

I plan to vote Democrat in Nov, 2008, but I'd like to know that if my candidate loses, a washout like Romney won't be taking over the White House.

and can anyone explain to me that some of this post looks like done by political professional done by the romney camp? Romney hires so many paid "super-volunteers" and there may not be any much real non-paid posts out there.
americans can't be brought.
check into the bain capital stories where romney and his managers came in factories and told workers that they are fired and they can fill out form for reapplication of jobs if they want mercy.

As a relative newcomer to Utah, having lived much of my life in Ohio and Maryland, I saw Mitt Romney in action during the 2002 Winter Olympics. He gathered an excellent team around him, encouraged volunteerism in a most inclusive and outreaching manner, and persuaded business leaders, government leaders and individuals to contribute in a way that was truly electric. He has a way of lifting people and encourages them to be the best that they can be. He gets people to work together in ways that are collaborative and results oriented. The whole Olympics worked smoothly and beautifully, and almost everyone involved would love to do it again. I think that we need this guy to break down the adversarial barriers that exist in Washington. I personally would rather have a leader who can learn and grow, listen to others and gather information before making decisions, and be willing to admit it when he is wrong, than a guy who is stubborn and entrenched. You know, sometimes a person has to pick his battles; you can't change everything at once. Maybe he wasn’t flip-flopping as much as he was being realistic. We need what Romney brings to the table, especially with the economy, which in case you haven't noticed, is in a mess. Come on New Hampshire, do us all a favor and vote for Mitt Romney.

McCain's path to the nomination is clear and if he faces Hillary in the general election it won't even be close. Obama might put up a fight but I'd love to measure McCain's foreign policy experience against BO's. It won't be a flattering picture for the democrat.

Bill/Jeff,

I'm quoting a report that is telling the truth about John McCrazy, that's not me attacking him, but this is....

Not only is this crusty old man (McCain) as dumb as a bag of rocks (he graduated 790th out of 795 in his class at Annapolis) his best political buddy is Prez Chimpy:

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?media=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm76%2FDrewziG71%2FMcCainlove.jpg&searchTerm=john%20mccain&pageOffset=11

Mitt is the only candidate that can win while preserving the Reagan's conservative coalition, the coalition that allows republicans to win. If it is broken, the democrats will have a huge advantage. We must preserve the coalition between economic, social, and national defence conservatives. A vote for Mitt is a vote for the Reagan coalition.

If Romney won in America, every taxpayer earning under $500,000 a year would be toast.

Bill/Jeff/Juanito/Leo T/Stan/Terry??
Welcome back!

Here's a nice tune for not only McCain, but all the candies on both sides.

All the stories have been told
Of kings and days of old,
But there's no England now.
All the wars that were won and lost
Somehow dont seem to matter very much anymore.
All the lies we were told,
All the lies of the people running round,
Theyre castles have burned.
Now I see change,
But inside were the same as we ever were.

Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Living this way, each day is a dream.
What am i, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?

Now another century nearly gone,
What are we gonna leave for the young?
What we couldnt do, what we wouldnt do,
Its a crime, but does it matter?
Does it matter much, does it matter much to you?
Does it ever really matter?
Yes, it really, really matters.

Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?

Now another leader says
Break their hearts and break some heads.
Is there nothing we can say or do?
Blame the future on the past,
Always lost in blood and guts.
And when theyre gone, its me and you.

Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line.

JE,
Looks like a reach around to me...

Wow, quite a few lefty loonies / blind Mitt lovers in this thread. If these people actually support the guy (and aren't on his paid staff, as some of the responses might lead one to believe) it truly proves why the founding fathers tried to keep average American citizens from voting: they'd make a poor decision, and fall for lies / exaggerations / good looks/ money, etc., instead of examining the issues and records. Romney has employed all of these tactics, and there are some that can be fooled very easily it would seem.

Your full of crap Hung! There are lots of people all over the US that support Romney but have never even met the man or even recieved any compensation from him! I'm an Alaskan and I support Romney for President! No matter how many times people like you insult him or belittle him it won't change my mind or those of many other Americans that support Romney as Well! He's a economic genius who can turn our deficit around and make America strong again and for that reason I support Romney!

Mitt Romney’s religion is still based on racism

Although any worthy man regardless of skin color or race may hold Mormon priesthood rights, all statements made in Mormon scriptures declaring that dark skin is the result of a curse of God has never been removed nor renounced.

Black skin as a curse is prevalent in Mormon belief yet today. As of the 1984 Winter Semester at Brigham Young University, in the Genealogy 263 class, the instructor Brother Bloxham explained the curse. The subject came up when Brother Bloxham was explaining the Mormon concept that a spirit in heaven selects the body within to live. A student asked “Why would a spirit select the body of an African baby who was born to starvation?” Brother Bloxham gave the explanation of the curse. The same student asked “Why would a spirit choose the body of a white baby who is born addicted to crack?” Brother Bloxham’s answer was; “Poor choice”. I was a student in that class at the time Brother Bloxham made that above mentioned statements.

These days, early Mormon theology is also reaffirmed in the Mormon Fast and Testimony meetings. On one Sunday each month, members of the Mormon faith stand individually and begin (or ends) the testimony with this statement “I know the (Mormon) church is true and I know Joseph Smith is the true prophet.” I attended these Fast and Testimony meetings for more than ten years. I have seen children just able to speak indoctrinated to say the exact above statements.

In combination, these two statements articulate (in Mormon theology) “Yes you may hold the Priesthood (“…all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color” June 9, 1978 press release to the Deseret News) while you are still inferior.” (Pearl of Great Price-Book of Moses 7:8; Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 5:21,22, Alma 3:6, Mormon5:15)

The foundation of Mormon theology (stating people of dark skin people are inferior), is not erased by as simple statement that blacks can now hold the priesthood. Stating that blacks can hold the priesthood does not equate and is immaterial to the Mormon scriptures and the Mormons racist beliefs.

Go to the below Institute for Religious Research website to read detailed information.
Reference:
http://www.irr.org/mit/skin-color.html

I refuse to accept any rationalizations. Until the scriptures are renounced or statements regarding people of color have been cursed by God is removed, I view Mormonism as baseless and not having factuality. I see Mormonism as white supremacy.

Obama might put up a fight but I'd love to measure McCain's foreign policy experience against BO's. It won't be a flattering picture for the democrat.

Keep dreaming Jeff. After all it's free. Obama 2008!

Come on guys can't we just give McCain the chance to show his stuff?

I know, he's been in Washington for about 30 years already, but remember he wasn't the president. Make him the president he'll show you the skills he's been hiding for 30 years.

I know he's betrayed us about once a year for the past decade, but thats only because he had the wisdom and foresight to know that this race would be so close that only someone who has been in bed with a Kennedy could beat a Clinton...sucks that now it looks like Obama's the one to beat.

I know he graduated at the bottom 1% of his class, but come on, that was at the US Naval Academy. According to John Kerry they are all idiots anyway so there's probably not much difference.

I know, he acts like he is so pissed off and mentally unstable that it makes you wonder if he's fit for the job, but just think of how all that pent up anger will feel to Osama Bin Laden as John McCain personally chases him through the gates of Hell.

And lastly, I realize that it would seem like a real waste to try and get our candidate elected only to have him die on us considering he looks like he could kick the bucket any moment... But, remember that his other lover is Mike Huckabee, and he cured death before he decided to run for presidident

I do like Romney as the best presidential candidate. He would probably top any of the leading Democrats in the general election. After listening to almost all of the candidates, several times, I truly believe he is the right person to serve as our president.

Go Romney!

An amazing leader, A patriot, a reputation for honesty (see Romney's website for a Utube video of McCain praising Romney to high heaven for his honesty, integrity, and values.

This is from Rush Limbaugh:

Iowa is a caucus; it’s a weird setup. New Hampshire allows independents to vote in the Republican primary, which is why McCain is doing as well as he is doing, and it’s why the media want this to be a bellwether against Romney. I mean, Pat Buchanan came in second. He came in a very strong second in New Hampshire in 1992. Now, I’m not saying that these contests are not to be taken seriously here, and that they’re not to be fought and to be won, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. New Hampshire is no longer the conservative barometer it used to be. The state has changed, it is now quite liberal. A lot of people who used to live in Massachusetts have moved into New Hampshire to escape New Hampshire’s high taxation and other problems. New England generally the northern states, states like Iowa, is not where the conservative base resides in large numbers. The Drive-By Media would love to destroy the conservative coalition. They would love to destroy the conservative base to the Republican Party. That’s why they are promoting Huckabee; it is why they are promoting McCain.

MITT ROMNEY WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED.

HE HAS NO SHAME.

McCain might win New Hampshire, but the only way I see him getting the nomination is if we change the constitution to require that the commander-in-chief must be a former soldier. I've always respected him for his service to our country, but McCain just isn't that great on the other important issues. In fact, he's been downright lousy on several of them.

I'm not from the US, lived in 8 different countries, speak 7 languages, soon will have a degree in Politics and International Relations and I can tell you that the rest of the world would rather not have Romney as your president.
If you want best for The United States of America then VOTE FOR ROMNEY. If you want to make the rest of the world content then vote for McCain.

Mitt will say anything to get elected. God, the level of discourse here in The Swamp is as childish as its ever been. How sad.

What the partisans here think won't matter tomorrow. McCain will win his first of many primaries and Obama will stake the final dagger into Hillary's campaign. Remember real conservatives that what the left wants is not you want. Judging by their posts here, they want Romney.

Wow, quite a few lefty loonies / blind Mitt lovers in this thread. Couldn't've put it better, myself, Jason. Let's hope that the angry leftists keep up their anti-mormon, ageist, angry rants. The more people who see this crap, the more that will run to the sane party in politics.

Mitt ran Staples.

What's so wrong about being a businessman anyways?

America's business is business.

I liked John McCain
but he can't beat Obama
and he's too much of a wise a-s for my taste
after watching the debates.

Go Mitt Romney in New Hampshire

Mitt Romney can turn this country around with dignity and without an unchecked temper.

Debrar,

Thanks for that illuminating analysis from conspiracy theorist and drive-by media tard, Rush Limpbag. Expect to hear the whole thing verbatim from Jerry White in an upcoming thread.

I believe Mitt Romney will become the next President of the United States.

At a time like this, we don't need pretty faces or smiles but someone with a backbone who can carry this economy and immigration problem on their shoulder.

McCain can't even carry his own weight, poor guy he's like an old horse who couldn't even tap dance.

Huckleberry might as well join the rest of friends down by the river and learn how to catch a fish or two.

Prudie will be better off becoming a priest or a cardinal in nyc playing tag with the corleone family.

Mitt Romney does get the vote from American people!

Mitt is a proven flip flopper. Changes mind constantly on the issues. "Called agent of change" because he changes mind so much. It's been said he is not pro-life or pro-choice, he is multiple choice!

Mitt is moody and snobby, not very becoming of a leader. Certainly not for President of the USA.

Mitt Romney had a devastating loss in Iowa, because people there showed that they could not be bought.

Mitt is way down in polls nationally and is in free fall desperation. He will do whatever it takes to buy New Hampshire, to include having his people take down Mccain signs and banners to be replaced for Romney ones. Sad.

Mitt Romney is flat out dishonest by numerous quotes. Don't vote for Mitt Romney, he will bring America to her knees!

Vote Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee is our choice for President of the USA!

We like Mike!!

Mike Huckabee is our choice for President of the USA!

We like Mike!!

Just a question. Roger Morris, have you ever had a thought that makes sense?

Mittles is a caution- McCain is a Warrior and Mitt is Michael on 'The Office'

"The Drive-By Media would love to destroy the conservative coalition. They would love to destroy the conservative base to the Republican Party. That’s why they are promoting Huckabee; it is why they are promoting McCain." Rush L.

Yep, sure, try to stay off the meds there ol' boy.

The reality is the GOP is destroying itself from the inside out. None of the candidates agree on much, and it gets really hard for a coalition of individuals to rally around one individual when 1/2 like one and 1/2 like another. Regardless of what happens in NH, the reality is that the divisions will continue until the convention, and things will get nasty and the Dems will at least have some semblance of untiy. The American public is tired of division, so watch out of the GOP can't come together. It'll be really tough come November

John NOBRAINER, your name fits you: "Reagan changed party and he worked out fine"

Sometimes we must speak truth to morons like Reagan and his unquestioning minions. He "worked out fine?"

* Iran-Contra. In Ronnie's loopy words, “A few months ago I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that’s true, but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not.”

* Savings & Loan scandals

* $3.3 TRILLION national debt

* "I've signed legislation outlawing Russia. Bombing begins in five minutes."

* Middle East

His policies in the Middle East and against terrorism was a disaster. He failed to prevent Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982. American forces also became involved until he was forced to retreat after a suicide bomb killed 241 marines. He also funded Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

And don't give me the line that he ended the Cold War. Even a GOP nutcase like Nixon refuted that idea.
"Nixon said 'Communism would have collapsed anyway,' in the 1996 book, 'Nixon Off the Record.'"

HUNGS:

If the pro-Romney posts here seem like they were posted by paid professionals, that is only because Romney attracts a more educated following than does Huckabee. Demographic polls show that Huckabee enthusiasts are less educated and are looking for a candidate who thinks the way they do.... (Yikes!) Romney enthusiasts are more educated and are looking for a candidate that is even more educated than them -- one who is capable of handling the rigors of the big leagues, dealing with international treaties, and conversing with the super-educated leaders of the world. Huckabee can rouse the passions of the bowling league flock just by flashing religious imagery about, but will hardly be convincing to the elites of other nations, even though convincing the elites of other nations would be his JOB.

What ever the results are in New Hampshire, I hope for a surprise.

And with all this talk about religion and politics, I was wondering if anyone has heard about the independent film coming out titled: “Article VI: Faith. Politics. America.” The film was directed by Bryan Hall and Jack Donaldson. It is an intense discussion of the role of faith in politics. The title is taken from Article Six of the United States Constitution: "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

If you haven't seen the trailer, I suggest you check it out:
