DES MOINES -- Followers of Rep. Ron Paul's presidential bid take pride in telling you that he hasn't changed his message in 30 years. But there's actually one word Paul has recently incorporated into his lexicon: revolution.
The 'Ron Paul Revolution' was not a phrase of Paul's creation, but one that supporters started using months ago. It's first appearance – the story goes, at least – was when some guys in Arizona began stenciling the phrase to look like this:

As anyone who travels on American highways can tell you, supporters have spread that slogan on signs all across the country. Like dandelions, the logo seems able to sprout up almost anywhere and everywhere – on overpasses, on onramps, on street poles. Last month, in New Hampshire, I met a woman at a Paul get-together who had driven from her home in Tulsa, Okla., to volunteer in the Granite State for Ron Paul, but not before she had a friend tattoo the 'revolution' logo just above her left breast.
Before deciding to run, Paul didn't see his trust in the Constitution as anything revolutionary; in fact, both he and his staffers say it took some convincing to transform him from a congressman into a presidential candidate. And only recently did he adopt the revolutionary lingo.
"I wasn't sure they were ready," he said of voters at a speech last night in Des Moines.
"When I started I didn't think there'd be much money available for the campaign. Who's going to donate for someone who believes in the Constitution?"
A lot of people obviously, as Paul just closed the books on $19 million of fundraising the past 3 months – believed to be the largest haul this quarter by any of the Republican candidates.
It's a good sign of a revolution of some sort, but exactly what outcomes it'll have – at tonight's caucuses and beyond – is a result even Paul struggles to predict.
"When do we think this is going to happen: this week or next week? We don’t exactly know when the revolution will take place completely.
"I know one thing: something significant in the last year has happened. I cannot describe it totally and completely but I think you know it, you understand it, and you feel it in your bones."
Paul can too – it's just that for 30 years he didn't know what to call it.

Ron Paul is a huge flip flopper. According to a Michigan newspaper, in 1988 running as a Libertarian, Paul answereed a questionnaire from CNN that he would "abolish the Border Patrol."
Now he's running a "Tough on Immigration" ad in NH and Iowa showing a Border Patrol Agent frisking illegal immigrants.
Guess this is the exact type of guy Paul would put out on the unemployment line.

Its easy to know what it is, America is finally (thanks to the internet) waking up and pulling the blinkers from their eyes and seeing what America has become and comparing it with what it was originally supposed to be and realising that the disparity between the two is immense.

More and more people in this country are beginning to wake up to what's really going on in our government, and who really has the power--big corporations and individuals/special interests with money. Ron Paul and his consistent message, his honesty, his integrity, and his genuine concern for where this this country is headed is finally being heard and understood.

One of the most endearing qualities of Dr. Paul--this "ah shucks" man, who is a noble hybrid of a modern day Jefferson and a Norman Rockwell character--is that Paul seems humbly convinced that the stunning groundswell of support from average citizens comes not from him, but his message. What a refreshing turn about of ego that is in a presidential field littered by candidates running on precision haircuts and charismatic personality.
The good doctor has the prescription for America: honest integrity toward the Constitutional principles he has voted for over the past 3 decades.

Excellent article. My bones felt a chill at the end. We don't know when the revolution will happen, but we know it is coming.

Ron Paul, 2008, FTW. We are tired of the lame stream media, the yellow journalism, the lies, the wars, the broken dollar, the identity politics and the military industrial complex. America is waking up to freedom and liberty. Its our last chance to have them again if we chose to walk with Ron Paul. If we don't chose him, we will become more authoritarian and America will no longer be what the founders wanted it to be and it will become a hell on earth with a dropping standard of living.

It must be a slow news day for the driveby media to focus so much attention on a marginal candidate like Ron Paul.
He is not revolutionary. He is against the Iraq war for the ACLU and parrots talk about torture etc. his followers are cult like disciples.
Paul is a libertarian and he is bad for the Grand Old Party.
No way will mainstream Republicans vote for this crazed maniac.
We have many good GOP candidates we don't need Paul for entertainment or emotional relief.

I don't always agree with everything Paul says, but at this point a vote against Ron Paul is a vote FOR Komrad Rodham and big more government. The fake Republicans (Romney,Giuliani,McCain,Huckabee) don't stand a chance. Their views lost in the midterm election and they will lose in the presidential election. America needs a change of course, a return to constitutional government, and that is what Ron Paul represents. Lets face it the radical fringe ideas are coming from the so called"top tier" candidates in the Republican party. Gearing up to bomb a country that has done nothing to you, is a pretty radical idea. America following the constitution, in other words America acting like America is not an unusual idea. Ron Paul can and will win, there's just no two ways about it. The support for ACTUAL conservatism in this country is too strong. Everytime I see writers try to bash Paul, the American constitution, and therefore America it just simply re-affirms in my mind that Paul is probably going to win. The poll numbers are simply flat out wrong.

Thank you Jason George for this article! It is so encouraging to read an article by a reporter who has the COURAGE to step up and write from a positive perspective, the world needs reporters like you for it appears as though you do not seem to fear the concept of striving to obtain freedom and liberty.

The complete comment from 1988 was to eliminate the border patrol and replace it with the Armed Forces. Changes the context a bit, don't you agree?

Ron Paul is the bane of the Democratic AND Republican parties alike. There's not a sliver of difference between Hillary, Rudy, McCain, Edwards, Obama, Thompson, Romney and the rest of this ilk that's being thrust upon us as this year's lineup of candidates.
AMERICA! WAKE UP! It's time to break from these media-fronted candidates and support a candidate who can restore our beloved country to its greatness by applying the wonderful Constitution given to us by our founding fathers. I fear that this may be our last chance before we slip into the abyss of total government dominance of our lives. Indeed, it is upon us as I write.
AMERICA! Our last great hope is Dr. Ron Paul. Support him now. Support America now. Tomorrow may be too late.

A great article! I am a 62 year old retired man. I served almost 5 years in the military during the sixties and one year of that was combat in Vietnam. I grew up a republican but became disillusioned after Nixon. I’ve watched both the republicans and democrats in power and the sickness and lies that they both perpetrate on the American people. The kind of politics this country breeds is sick. The money spending and power struggles by our national government is out of control and all three branches of government have lost their way. I used to believe “the national news” but it has become the media and they are now the forth branch of government and as corrupt as the other three. It seems like hardly any of the candidates for President look at history and learn anything. The framers of the Constitution understood all these problems and were honest enough to write a document that would work for everyone and it did until about 90 years ago when government began to get too big, secretive and money started to equate to power. It is time for a revolution in this country and I truly believe that an honest man like Ron Paul can lead it. I believe in my children and grandchildren and know they deserve better than what we have been getting. Fox News is a disgrace not allowing Ron Paul in its debate just before the NH primary, proving that fair and balance is a bunch of crap.
Anyone that believes in Ron Paul should not underestimate the power of these other candidates and their supporters like the vast military-industrial complex, the IRS, CIA. Or the extent they would go to stop this revolution in its tracks. Also remember, that the media is entrenched with the government and are all special interest groups by themselves.

THIS REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED! Thank goodness! The last thing we need is to see this whiner all over the television. If he could talk without whining maybe more people would listen to him. His supporters obviously can stand it, but most of us want to just cover our ears, and maybe try to lip read.

Ron Paul is not a flip flopper. He is consistently Constitutional, he has repeatedly said that illegal immigration would not be a problem but for the welfare state and this is true. Also, the idea that he ran as a Libertarian before and as a Republican now makes him a flip flopper is ludicrous. His message is unchanged.

I've been a libertarian for about 40 years (Ayn Rand, Rothbard, and von Mises in the late 1960s) and was an early member of the Libertarian Party and one of the early member of that party in PA in 1972. It is truly amazing what has happened in the past several months. I have no idea where all these libertarians have come from. I didn't expect to live to see a movement this large. The Internet is incredible and has made so much information available at a cost that approaches zero. All these "kids" are educating themselves despite having mostly terrible educations from our government owned and controlled indoctrination centers. Whatever happens with Dr. Paul's run, this should establish a real libertarian movement in this country and around the world. There should soon be people with libertarian philosophies running for congress within several political parties. It would be impossible for this movement to disappear now, regardless of the level of success of Ron Paul's campaign. I was happy when I read about his decision to run, but I never expected more than a little more success than he had in 1988.

It should be noted here that "Eric Dondero" who posted the first comment about Ron Paul "Flip Flopping" about immigration is a former disgruntled employee of the good Dr's. Appearantly he is bent on some sort of mission to go on a never-ending tantrum about it and attemnpt to smear the good Dr.
The Immigration issue in 1988 is not the some immigration issue we face today. Apples and Oranges. I don't see that as flip- flopping at all.
It's like the difference in treatment between a malignant tumor and a benign one. Both are cancer but one is not a big deal, the other is life threatening.

Ron Paul is more of a Republican than the rest, in the Goldwater/Taft tradition. He stands for low taxes, balanced budgets, non-interventionism overseas and a strict interpretation of the Constitution. And unlike the rest who talk a good game on some of these issues, he has the voting record to back it up.

The revolution has begun! Like Dr. Paul, I have been looking for something different for 30 years, and was not certain that people were ready yet. It is so heartening to see young people flock to his ideas of small government, more personal responsibility, no preemptive wars, and a dramatically different foreign policy that will do far more to keep us safe than anything the others have done or are proposing. They have the energy, passion, and intellect to take this and run with it. One disgruntled former employee of Dr. Paul who tries to smear him with untrue comments will not stop it. Vive la revolution!

So who exactly are these many good GOP candidates? Huckabee or McCain? Both of which are fans of Rev. Hagee, who wants to bomb Iran for Isreal (the chosen People) to kickstart the rapture (nothing crazy about that). Or is it Romney? Hard to say what that guy stands for from one day to the next. Guliani? How can he even be a member of the GOP? Oh yah, it could be old Fred, I forgot about him, but everyone else has too.
Sorry but Ron Paul is the only true conservative of the bunch. Yes he has libertarian leadings. But sense when does the GOP want to deny the people Liberty? OH WAIT, I know sense the neocon/fascists took it over. It is sad to see someone so brainwashed that they refuse to see what is right in front of their face. If you would like to see the GOP respected again, and working for the people, instead of corparations, vote for Ron Paul. The rest are a joke they will not work for the people, just their handlers. A vote for any of the rest is a vote for big government, wars, and economic disaster. and oh yah I'm going to say it ----just wait-------------------Go do some homework!

Dr. Ron Paul tells a story of a man who could not possibly win the battles he chose to fight, but did anyway. Ron Paul has awoken the spirit of liberty in the American people, and mobilized them like a relentless army that is determined to win.
This revolution is similar in a way to those fought by Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.
'Mahatma Gandhi
From the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire, let freedom ring. From the mighty mountains of New York, let freedom ring. From the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania, let freedom ring. But not only that: Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
'Martin Luther King'
Exactly like Gandhi, the Dr. is now at the first two stages of his peaceful and democratic fight towards full freedom. He has been ignored by main stream media, ridiculed and laughed at by the members of his own republican party. The giggles of Giuliani and the other debaters on a FOX News republican debate is a testimony to that.
Once he starts winning, their next step will be to fight him till the end. Usually by way of smearing intimidation, lies and vote rigging. But, his grassroots supporters are deeply patriotic and are determined to take back their country. There is nothing that can stop them now.

Electing Ron Paul is our opportunity to return to being free citizens in a country the world will once again admire or we can continue to be like sheep fleeced by those who lead us. The vote is our only way to choose. Won't waaste your vote on a candidate that does not even respect you (they get elected and ignore you until the next election). All candidates but one (Ron Paul) believe that we are so stupid that they must provide more government to "help" us find our way into a global society that none of us will like (unless you happen to be employed by the United Nations). Vote for freedom by voting for Ron Paul. Vote for serfdom by voting for any other candidate. Citizens of America, the hour is late and the demise of our country is much closer than most of us realize.
Posted by: Owen Adams | January 3, 2008 10:08 AM

Ron Paul wins Iowa today while Mitt cries, Huck lies and lies, Rudy retreats South, Tancredo quits and Fred naps. Except for Dr. Paul, "[t]here's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas, banning books like America Deceived (book) from Amazon, warrant-less wiretapping and the PATRIOT ACT. They are both guilty of treason.
Time to take sides, fellow patriots, you're either for liberty and Support Dr. Ron Paul or you're against liberty and damn us all.

Flip flopping on border security from 1988 to the present?
Let's put on the old memory cap...
In 1988 the US, under Reagan, had just recently instituted a program that granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens (and their employers). The program was passed with the solemn promise that in the future illegal aliens would be restricted from any welfare or civil programs, and that any employer of illegal aliens would be punished as a federal felon. Had the US political and judicial leaders actually enforced the law, there would not be an illegal alien problem today.
Dr. Paul has said that, on principle, he is a believer in easy cross broder trade and travel - as long as it is in accordance with the law and with national security.
Dr. Paul has said that as things stand at present, without enforcement of employer restrictions on illegal, with mandated free medical care, with various welfare programs, with easy voter registration for non-US illegals, and with the prospect of terrorist entry into the US, that he favors - for the present situation - a strong defense of the border.
1988 politicians promised enforcement of the law. 2008 politicians refuse to enforce the law. Dr. Paul's principles are the same, but both the situation and the pragmatic solution have changed.
I do not know what you do when a problem changes, but most people recognize that the solution may need to change as well.

A hypothesis:
The Paul "revolution" has arisen to soften Republicants' cognitive dissonance which has grown much worse over the past five years of this awful war. Lifelong, loyal Republicants supported Commander Dry Drunk despite knowing it was contrary to what used to be Republican principles -- fiscal conservatism, non-interventionist foreign policy, etc. We all knew in 2003 that the War was antithetical to those views (consider Pat Buchanan's positions at the time, which were strictly opposed to the War).
The sheeple supported Dear Leader despite knowing then that support for the war was inconsistent with their beliefs -- cognitive dissonance. That situation has only grown worse through the many years of Republicant mismanagement of the dumb war (see, e.g., political hack Cheerleader Mccain), and Republicant waste of tax money.
Ron Paul provides some relief to this otherwise untenable situation. Now the Republicants get to support a Republicant but have an outlet to express what a completely stupid idea the war was. This relieves their cognitive dissonance.
There are not that many true libertarians out there (see, e.g., Steve F.'s 9:32 post). There are a lot of sheeple Republicants seeking relief from internal psychological turmoil known as cognitive dissonance. There are a whole lot of phonies out there.

In 88 we were not in the "terror war". He believes that TODAY, we need to secure OUR borders- not Iraq's. Get your facts straight- even then he said that there may come a time when for security reasons we may need to guard the border closely. That statement upset quite a few libs in 88.

Hey Eric Dondero stop trying to twist things. When it came to borders in 1988 it was a very different place than it is today. There were no threats of terrorism in America and there were not 20 million illegal immigrants in America. There also wasn't an economic crisis as there is today.
Why you or anyone else would back a self-funded rich guy for president is beyond me. All it really proves is that some Americans continue to get all their information from the corporate sponsored media.

Ron Paul 2008! It's time to take America back. We NEED serious changes in our country and the other candidates just do not deliver this message. There is only one man that does, and he is RON PAUL. America will become a great nation once again!

RE Eric Dondero
He's a petty previous staffer with a VERY personal ax to grind.
Way I hear it he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar and got fired by Ron Paul quite a few years ago.
Now he TROLLS the internets looking to hurt the man he whose trust he betrayed at every opportunity.

All of the sudden, the Des Moines Register, which polled Ron Paul at 2% to 4%, today polls him at 9% to 11%. The plan to systematically deflate his supporters did not work, and now they are doubling and tripling the numbers to save face and credibility. Shame on the Register! They are part of the deeply entreched problem in this country, the media, banking and corporate "Good Ol Boys Club". We are behind you Dr. Paul, and we will press on, no matter what happens. Thank you for sticking your neck out to care about us!

The federal government needs to be rebooted.
Please pass the keyboard to Dr. Paul.

I'm ready to celebrate with those in Des Moines tonight. It will be even bigger in NH.

I see Eric Dondero is at it again (see first post). For those that don't know who Eric is, he's a former Ron Paul staffer who was fired years ago. He is now running for Ron Paul's seat in Congress, so he has an agenda.
By the way, Tim Russert used a quote from Dondero in his Ron Paul Meet the Press interview without disclosing that Dondero was running for office. That's more than a faux pas.

Ron Paul is a breath of fresh air. His non-interventionist foreign policy is exactly what America needs to survive. Our foreign wars and war mongering will drive our country in to ruin one way or another.
Either we'll leave ourselves vulnerable to an attack in the U.S. or we'll go bankrupt fighting wars that should not have been fought in the first place. And considering that China and other nations are financing a good part of our wars, all they have to do is pull the monetary plug, and we're so screwed for so many reasons.
Dr. Paul understands the global problem we have on our hands and has a real plan to do something about it.
Go Ron Paul! He's got my vote.

The new generation has been disenfranchised, burdened by our war debts and declining economy, and feeling rather hopeless. Now, they see a hope for themselves and for our country so they discover their motivation. This will not end with this election.
Long live the r3VOLution!

Eric Dondero, did you stay up all nite waiting to comment? You're the first one on here. You were fired from the Ron Paul staff for good reason. Want to share with us exactly why?
Stop expending negative energy. We love our Ron Paul and you can't change our minds with your slurs.
The Revolution Will Not be Televised -- but it is here now and We the People will Win.

Ron was asked about the change in the border issue just recently, and he mentioned how in 88 he got into trouble with libs when he said that "someday if this gets to be an invasion" then the policy would have to change. So, he was right on then, and he didn't change. When your position is that you have to wait and see what happens before you act, then you are not a flopper.
Ron also continues to state that if we were to fix the economy by changing foreign policy, then we'd be more generous to legal immigration and both we and the working (not welfare) immigrants would both benefit - another wise policy by someone who actually understand the economics of a free market which lifts all of us into prosperity.
If only Bush would flip flop on the Iraq war, we'd be so much better off. Times have changed, Bush has not, Ron has where it counts.
Ron also has changed on the death penalty given the evidence of DNA and how many innocent people were on death row.
This is how a wise man operates. The rest of the crowd of reps (and most dems) are stuck in the mud and quagmire Bush created. Not Ron.
Posted by: Eric T. | January 3, 2008 1:42 PM
Thank you Eric.
You've managed to change my vote! Ron Paul is a flip-flopper. I can't imagine that someone would change their mind from what they said twenty years ago. Next people will start believing that situations change and aren't the same as they were twenty years ago.
All sarcasm aside...why do we constantly punish someone because they have served this country for so long? Why do we go back twenty years and try to place the policy of twenty years ago onto todays issues?
Ron Paul is a huge flip flopper. According to a Michigan newspaper, in 1988 running as a Libertarian, Paul answereed a questionnaire from CNN that he would "abolish the Border Patrol."
Now he's running a "Tough on Immigration" ad in NH and Iowa showing a Border Patrol Agent frisking illegal immigrants."
Posted by: Tim | January 3, 2008 1:49 PM
Mr. Eric Dondero,
I'm confused. You seem like an intelligent man. Your web-site is well put together at least. Why would you accuse Ron Paul of flip-flopping, from his opinion 20 years ago, concerning a point of view that 9/11 has obviously changed? You look desperate.
Posted by: Andrew Crovo | January 3, 2008 1:53 PM
We didn't have 9/11 back in 1988 eric, so who could have known back then that the border patrol would be integral to stop the terrorists, it will only be a matter of time before the terrorists get more money and are able to walk into our country, or tunnel besides i think arabic and mexicans blend in I voted for George Bush and he seems to be stuck in that 1988 mentality and so is everyone else except Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul.
Posted by: Robert "Red State" Dawson | January 3, 2008 1:58 PM
Hey Dondero, How's the unemployment line? You never even deserved to staff for Dr. Paul. Keep supporting your neocons and maybe they'll give ya a job, but as of right now, it seems that they keep you in the background. What are you the neocon apologist guy? Maybe you forgot that PAUL was saying that if the immigration situation became an invasion that it would be legit to protect our soveriegn borders. The immigration thing has clearly changed since 1988, thanks to your neoncon masters.
On and Donerd, I hear the Navy is hiring....

America,
We have hope, a new voice and it is Ron Paul. He lives and breathes the Constitution and those in government trying to break down our most perfect document have realized- An American has slung the Stone, Ron Paul, and he and his fellow Americans are about to sling it and bring balance to a corrupt political system . America is a Nation of people, We the People, By the People, for The People. What Television has done to erase a fair and objective presidential race has been turned into a competition, transformed into a subjective mind controlling machine to sway voters while getting ratings. But TV and Print have a weakness, the INTERNET. We the People have sought out to find the truth, find the answers and find who is really going to represent us, that American is Ron Paul. He's won the straw polls online, he's raised incredible amounts of money from We the People, not from the menacing corporations with a political agenda to shape our country how they want it. If you are worried about issues, about immigration- think of it this way, if your body is ill, would you not slow down interraction with other people, until you were healed? We need to take care or ourselves before we can start helping others again. America needs to heal itself, bring its beloved soldiers back, brings its country back together and nourish itself back to health. We are not laying down or giving up, America is growing up, becoming more responsible, becoming a bodyguard, not a bully, a protector, not a politically motivated policestate. For women and men out there, I am Pro-Choice but don't allow Ron Paul's stance on abortion to sway your vote, know the facts. Though he might oppose it, he does not want to nominate politcally placed judges to overturn Roe Vs. Wade. He wants to leave it up to you, the people to decide on a State level. Or you might look at it this way- CHOOSE YOUR COUNTRY'S FREEDOM AND SURVIVAL over an issue that will stand as is and not be changed. If you allow this issue to sway your vote, the media machine has done it's job, to keep corporation minded politcians (who say the right thing for now), not American minded people, to run our Country. Right now I think America needs to think about the whole, not the one. I want a person, a neighbor, a human being to be the leader of our Country, not a festering political machine. Our forefathers stood up and fought for what we have today but that fight must be maintained everyday , have you forgotten how to fight? Don't be blind to what they say, see what they don't.

Eric Dondero-Former Ron Paul aid and disgruntled employee. Sorry Eric that Ron put you on the unemployment line. Deservedly so.
Posted by: gavin | January 3, 2008 2:18 PM
Eric Dondero provided the first comment here. In his post, he proposed that an issue for which the response was dependant on the conditions at the time, 20 years ago, should be used to determine if someone's response today, if different, proves that he's a flip-flopper. Nice try, Eric.
Posted by: Darryl Schmitz | January 3, 2008 2:23 PM
Ron Paul is different on immigration because most people believe that illegals are the cause for most of our economical distress, while Dr. Paul believes that by fixing the economy will cure the illegal immigration issue.
That said, Paul has changed his stance on a few things. Such as the death penalty and the absolute abolition of some agencies to just heavily reducing them.
All in all, you'll be hard pressed to poke holes in his platform in consistencies' sake. And I happen to agree with Goldwater-politics.
Ron Paul '08

Ron Paul, a once-in-a-lifetime candidate. His candidacy is test of how smart we, or have we sold out to big government, big media, the military-industrial complex, the medical-industrial complex, big banking and corrupt politicians? Here's your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make your voice heard and reverse the trend.
Posted by: Albert Meyer | January 3, 2008 2:51 PM
Ron Paul just plain makes sense. Everything he says is logical. He may not be right on everything but at least he uses reason and logic instead of pandering BS like most politicians.

The Ron Paul Revolution is destined to change the course of America's and the world's history. How can any American argue against following the Constitution? I look forward to reading tomorrow of the surprising results out of Iowa. To those of us who have followed Dr. Paul's campaign for the last year, we are not at all surprised as we have seen the momentum for his vision continually building. America is in critical condition and it needs Dr. Paul to administer the cure.

Jerry, Ron Paul is a "crazed maniac" in the same way Thomas Jefferson was a Raving Loony; at least he was from tyrannical King George's point of view. Both are True Statesmen who believe that the U.S.Constitution is a sacred document (not "just a god-damned piece of paper", like Shrub believes) that enshrines personal freedom and restricts abusive government power. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for your own personal freedom. You'd be crazy to vote for anyone else, Jerry!
Posted by: Jim Agnew | January 3, 2008 3:20 PM
I didn't realize Ron Paul was so popular with the scapegoating xenophobic "It's all the illegal immigrants fault" crowd.
Leave me ou of the "Revolution" if it's based on that fearmongering hysteria.

Ron Paul a 'flip-flopper'?? 'bad for the gop'?? It seems some don't yet understand the founders, the Constit., fiat-money, or indeed their own emotional state. Dr. Paul is the best chance at preserving the Constit'l Republic no matter what your hot-button issues are. He's the only one attacking the head of the hydra for all your hot-button issues - The Fed. Res.
pppppppthhhhh!

I really don't get you Paul people. Libertarianism has been around for a long time.
Yet the Libertarian Party has always tanked in elections.
What Paul is saying is nothing new. It's refreshing to hear, but it's certainly not novel.
SO where did you people come from? Where were you when a fascist dimwit clown, and his equally awful bootlickers (e.g., McCain), told the country how important it was to have the government intercept our phone calls? I'll answer: you were supporting the fascist dimwit clown.
To those few of you with actual libertarian cred, I apologize. To the vast remainder I say phooey. You're as principled as a weather vane.

Consider that between Romney, Clinton, and Obama they put $20 Million into mostly TV ads in the state of Iowa. How much did Ron Paul's campaign spend? Where does that $20 Million go? Oh yeah it pays the salaries of the media. It also is a great way to take money from the people and concentrate it in the hands of the rich since almost all media in this country (print, radio, television) is controlled by very few big companies.
It cracks me up when Obama says a vote for him is a vote for change...he wants to continue the exact same policies that the rest of the CFR members advocate. If you truly want change vote for Ron Paul.

Eric Dondero,
I hate to say it. But you have no life. You go to every article you can find on Ron Paul, and you try to smear him.
Why does he do it ladies and gentlemen? He's a disgruntled staffer! Who calls himself a libertarian, and wants to vote for --- Rudy Guiliani! WOW! What a guy.
Anyways, don't mind him. I would believe that 20 years ago he wasn't fond of border security, but for the past 10 he has been voting in favor for stronger immigration. That isn't flip-flopping.
Posted by: Brent | January 3, 2008 4:18 PM
LOL Eric D again with the flip flopper comment.
He's now the most famous fired employee in presidential history. Dr. Paul, of all peopled, fired him. The only way I know of to make Dr. Paul angry is mess with gold and not shower, apparently.

My youngest son David is the only one of my 8 children who won't be able to vote for Ron Paul. He attends a charter school in Oceanside, California where his advisor is an Obama supporter who thinks the North American Union would be a good thing. You might like to take a look at David's English essay on America's monetary history, which I've posted on his page at our family website.
http://www.richardbrodie.com/david/david.htm
Read it and see if it doesn't give you enough hope to bring tears to your eyes to see how much Truth just one of America's rising young generation has learned in a few months of watching campaign YouTube videos.
David is already very well armed to do battle for the cause of Liberty against the old Marxist instructors and professors whom he will be confronting over the remainder of his high school and college years.
Win or lose this particular election, Ron Paul has lauched a r3VOLution that must ultimately prevail!

America has become the Evil Empire from Star Wars fame. The Senate and House are filled with corrupt politicians motivated by their own personal greed. Too much government is killing the Economy. Ron Paul is the Jedi Knight that will bring balance to the force.

Republican President and current batch of do-nothing Democratic Congress failed us all. They have a neat pact to continue fleecing Americans and spread our empire throughout the world. We would not like it if Chinese bombed our country and spread their supposed "goodness" of Communism down our throats. Why do these neocons believe we can do this to others? Vote Ron Paul. Restore the Republic!

Ron Paul would wipe the floor on a 1:1 debate with anyone! Do you want someone that just acts the part and pander to you or do you want the truth. There is a big difference in saying great things like hope and change, but it is another to actually have substance. Sorry but all "major" candidates blessed by the media are funded by special interests. What candidate has received money from 130,000+ donors? Ron Paul.
Posted by: wesley | January 3, 2008 6:34 PM
Ex-Obama supporter here. Voting Ron Paul. Obama attracted me with his charm and good public speaking skills. However once I researched him, I'm digusted to find out his "change" message is a big phonie. He wants to continue building or empire across the world. Obama and Clinton are NEOCONS! These are same as Bush and Cheney! So I really urge Obama and Clinton supporters to look elsewhere. If not to Ron Paul, then at least to someone without CFR connection (CFR=Bush/Cheney).
