COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Speaking to reporters at the airport before heading to Chuck Norris' ranch, former Gov Mike Huckabee was asked if he saw the contest going beyond Florida and turning into a battle of delegates.
"I'm beginning to think so," he said. "I'm almost beginning to hope so."
Asked if he felt anxious spending Saturday night in Arkansas and Sunday in Texas, instead of heading straight to Florida, Huckabee said no. "I was so happy to be at home in Arkansas."
"It's a nice transition into the next phase of our campaign."
It's unclear at this point how a BBQ fundraiser in rural Texas will provide the boost Huckabee needs, but with Norris involved one never knows.
Just in case, Huckabee's senior staff did not take the trip to Texas, chosing instead to have day-long strategy sessions in Little Rock

Comments
Nobody can accuse The Swamp for not giving Huckabee enough print. Every story is about this miscreant.
How about we expose Huckabee. He's the one who ordered all of the hard drives and electronic backup systems in his office be destroyed when he was finishing his Governorship in Arkansas (this began after a file was leaked disclosing that he and his family had used emergency political funds for personal items, such as food and expensive clothing). The new Governor had to spend $400,000 of his budget to get all new computers and other systems due to the damage.
Yeah, Huckabee's not hiding anything. Also, his FairTax plan is a joke. Just like everyone else, he raised taxes and increased spending in Arkansas when he was Governor. He doesn't believe in or understand free trade policy, and worst of all, he wants to take away freedom of religion and turn this country into a theocracy modeled after his own personal beliefs.
Huckabee is a danger, and so is anyone who votes for him, as far as I am concerned.

Maybe the voters are simply realizing what a single issue candidate Mike Huckabee is. If he can't capitalize on his religious beliefs getting him through the campaign, what does he have to go on?
Couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.

A vote for McCain is a vote for more of the SAME! How is that working out for you?
So how weird is it that American continues to ask for change but the elite media only supports and offers people like McCain who will provide more of the SAME. Who have we entrusted with enacting change in the past? People like McCain and his gang? Oh, but now he knows what change looks like? The elite media only asks America to support the same actions that will provide the same negative results? Catch my drift? Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the other elite talk show hacks have asked their zombies many times to rally against McCain but now they are tolerant of McCain when an outsider now tries to get elected outside of their “good o boys” club. The elite media is taking away the voice of America that wants change in support of their misguided views. I hold the elite media and talk show host responsible for suppressing the voice of the peoples with there attacks against the political outsiders.
Only one candidate understands the kind of change American is asking for. He understands change doesn’t mean change of skin color, gender, or poll “a” tician. Huckabee understands Americans are asking for change in direction of family values, government and tax corruption, programs that do not work, illegal immigration, world trade that favors the other side and energy dependence.
Enough with the programs that damaged family values, school accomplishments, increases crime, and increases corruption in this country. Where does all the big poll “a” tician’s campaign funds come from anyway?
America has a chance for real change right now, or asks for more of the SAME! CHANGE or more of the SAME!

A vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for the worst of the sorst-not the best of the best. Who needs a religious freak in office. People do Pray you know they don't need to be preached to by a "wannabe". What rock did Norris find this guy under, or is he like "Holy Mackarel" with the Holy Spirit reigning inside "HER"? Yeah right, they lived together, what do you think they did - play patty cake, and "what kind of example are they setting for the young people of the world". Just as long as Chuck gets his rocks off I guess they can "do as I say, not as I do". What will there kids be like "THEM" WOW!! He "tries before he buys", "plays before he lays", "woos before he screws", and "beds before he weds"!! Looking for another White House invite?

Don't let the money-first curmudgeon-conservatives snow you against Gov. Huckabee. He is a principled man and a true Republican.

It's interesting -- and sad -- that so many people who are against Huckabee attack him personally and in vicious ways. He is in many ways a solid candidate, who is very intelligent and articulate. Look at his Web site, under Issues. If you don't agree with his stances, then why not civilly express why? Why resort to name-calling and bashing? And why attack evangelical Christians or their views with such hatred?
p.s. For the record, I am not an "evangelical Christian." I am a Roman Catholic.

Wow, spoken like a true Christian push poller who knows absolutely nothing about the next President of the United States or that fiscal conservatism is more than lip service! Well, McCain supporters know plenty about being on the recieving end of parade rain so we understand your position!

Tell me again why I'm supposed to be concerned about Chuck Norris?

John McCain at 71 is fit and vital. We should all be so healthy at his age.
There is no reason to believe from the patterns of work and behavior that McCain has displayed in his public career that he will be able to step his game to meet the demands of the Presidency.

Chuck makes a prediction:
McCain will die!
BRILLIANT!
Huck distances himself...but only so far.
Check out this attack ad that I was going to run, but I'll just show you guys what it is....Pssst..keep it a secret...OK?

All true. He has also intimated that he is not necessarily looking to be a two term president.

All true. He (McCain) has also intimated that he is not necessarily looking to be a two term president.
So, from day one McCain is a lame duck.
Bush has shown the dangers of that status.
Do you really want to take a chance on a guy like McCain who shows so little savvy?
