Ellen DeGeneres and Hillary Clinton.
It’s not quite the stage show, perhaps, that Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama put on.
But it’s a show, nonetheless, as the talk show host and Democratic candidate for president proved on stage at George Washington University yesterday. And, for the candidate running on “solutions’’rather than “rhetoric,’’ DeGeneres had a probing question.
“Now I have said I have a problem with glitter,’’ DeGeneres told Clinton. “It should be banned. It doesn’t warn you. There’s glitter on your fingers. There’s glitter everywhere. You open a card, you open wrapping paper…
“Will you put a ban on glitter?”
“You know,’’ Clinton replied, “I have been asked so many difficult questions in my life and, you know, some questions you can answer yes or no…. But when it comes to glitter, what on earth would grade school children do for their special projects?
“So maybe,’’ Clinton suggested, “maybe what we do is we ban glitter for anyone over 12?”
“There’s an idea,” DeGeneres said, picking up the campaign’s preferred theme without missing a beat. “That’s what I like about you. I like that you have solutions.
“The race is on, as we all know,’’ DeGeneres told Clinton, adding that “Obama has now won 11 states in a row....What needs to happen to change the momentum?” the talk show host asked.
Now, Clinton replied, it’s a question of winning the March 4 primaries in Texas and Michigan – oops, she added, she already won Michigan, uncontested. Make that Texas and Ohio.
“So,” DeGeneres asked, “is that really make or break? Is that really an important thing for you now?”
“Ellen,” Clinton replied, “I’d say that ranks way up there with banning glitter.''

What?!!
Ellen, stick to your silly day job.
Hillary, go back to the Senate, divorce that husband of yours so that he can be happy, and move on with your life.

TWO Swamp articles on Ellen Degenerate and this insignificant tripe?
Versus none on the London Times article about Obama and his ties to shady British and Middle Eastern financiers. See http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3433485.ece
for the reporting on Obama that Obama's hometown newspaper doesn't want to do.

For someone who wants to be the "serious" choice, this is very foolish!
This is worst run campaign in history!!! How can she run a country if she can't even run her own campaign???
Hillary Clinton is losing it!
She's all over the place!
Is this erratic behavior (attacking. blaming, crying, laughing, constantly changing "message") really supposed to convince us that she's fit to be President? I'm convinced she's fit for a Straight Jacket!

So much for the glitters, the real one would be, if we allow Barack Obama the presidential
attache case that contains the
nuclear buttons in case of
nuclear threat? How about if the terrorist-jihadist-fundamentalists, if not fanatics, will come from Kenya, Somalia, Iran, Pakistan, will he press the button to hit those
terror groups based in muslim countries? That, we can really see the real glitter, worldwide!!

I've been duped by Obama. Celestial choirs and the heavens have duped me. Millions of other voters have been duped too. We're all just not as intelligent as Hillary. She knows best.
I have a doctorate in literature, but my intellect is no match for hers. We've all been conned by Obama. We're all delusional.
Give me a BREAK. Obama '08!

C'mon you liberals. Hillary can flash a good sense of humor and is quick on her feet. She did not have to lift, excuse me, borrow from someone else to equate the momentous task in front of her with the business of banning glitter.
Liberals, be fair to Hillary. You are all about fairness, and equality of outcome, and none of this mean-spiritedness in our political discourse. Be kind to Hillary. Is not her quest for power just as legitimate as that of the "hope / change" neophyte guy? What did the smartest woman in America do to so offend the Leftist faithful? No one could make this stuff up.

Hey Francis, I hope you never have your finger on the button. You can't even handle the "post" button.
Hint: You only have to hit it once.

My family and I are definitely supporting Senator Hillary Clinton and have contributed financially to her campaign. We feel she is the most qualified to be President.
As a college educated young woman, I am proud to have a qualified and viable woman running for President. It's about time. America is a leader in the world, yet other countries have had women Presidents and Prime Ministers (e.g. England, Pakistan, Israel, Argentina, Philippines, India, etc.).
American women were given the right to vote in 1920, after a long struggle. A few women have attempted to run for President, without success. We now have a strong and viable candidate in Hillary. It’s a tough job running for President. For a woman, it’s even tougher.
Let's support Senator Clinton and make history by electing her the FIRST WOMAN President of the US. A woman President will be CHANGE. We may not get this chance again for many years.
See link below for more info on women's history in America. Thank you.

Bruce,
I'm not very familiar with Chicago politics and land deals, but even I have heard of this already.
It's old news.
I suppose the Tribune and others could run this story every day until it sinks in, but then they'd have to do the same with all of the Republican land deals, including that of a certain congressman from Central IL who has secured a nice retirement joint in Nicaragua.
Let me know if you need the info.

I love it. Clinton is damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. Try actually delving into her policy issues - you know, the ones that Barack Obama lifted his policies from? It's a sad day when people can be duped be words instead of substance...

I have been for Obama from the beginning, and am amazed at the blog comments on the Ellen/glitter exchange. I thought the routine was refreshing, worth a smile. An election is serious business, but it does need its lighter moments. Senator Clinton is still not my choice, although there is much to admire about her. And I think Ellen is a talented comedian who does not stoop to vulgarity as far as I have seen. I don't mind her supporting her candidate, and I think the destractors on this blog need to focus on what is really at stake in this election. m

We recently visited the Clinton presidential Library in Little Rock while on our way to Texas. We were amazed by a short hilarious video shown with Hillary portraying Forest Gump and Bill playing a "guy on the bench" who wanted a piece of Forest's chocolates.
We saw a different side of the Clintons and enjoyed it immensely. One cannot be serious all the time...
humor is a great release.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)
If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..
Best regards
jacksmith...
