SAN DIEGO – "How many of you watched that debate last night? Wasn’t that exciting?"
Sen. Hillary Clinton just asked that question to thousands of college students, and some even applauded. (Obviously they watched another debate or just like to slap their hands together.)
Clinton said she a good time at the affair, and recalled that there were a lot of "important points" and some differences revealed. "The most important difference that you heard" was "over whether or not we should attempt to work for and make a commitment to achieving universal healthcare in America."
That focus on healthcare follows up on the conference call with reporters this morning, when surrogates and speakers attacked an Obama mailer that goes after Clinton's healthcare plan.
The crowd here at San Diego State University was made up of about 6,500 people, according to the university. It was Clinton's largest crowd in weeks and was full of cheering supporters.
Before Clinton arrived the crowd entertained itself throwing hundreds of paper airplanes, cheering loudly when they hit the stage and cameramen. Clinton's staff laughed at the sight, although they didn't seem to realize that most of the airplanes were made up of blank cards handed out to sign up Clinton volunteers.

She probably didn't score a whole lot of new supporters, showing up an hour late despite the fact that many of the students at SDSU were waiting in line several hours early.

i was there, it was all around a fun event to be at. Everybody had so much support for Hillary and even though she was almost an hour late, the paper airplanes kept us all entertained.
but more importantly, Hillary gave an incredible speech and she was very welcomed.
She said she wasnt here to put band aids on problems, she was here to solve the problems that built up with the Bush Administration! Go Hillary!!!!

Did Hillary pick up all those paper airplanes? How much of my tax dollars went to pay for the clean-up? Boy, that sure says a lot about her ambition in that it over-rides her concern for the environment.
She was laughing too. Another phony display of emotion meant for the cameras.
Of course, the first words out of her mouth were lies, the debate wasn't exciting. Jason told me that, no need to make up my own mind.
Talk about media bias, no one bothered to ask a republican for an opinion on paper-planegate.
Who is she kidding about healthcare? This is just a ploy to convert America into a socialistic state with her as Czarina and Bill as Rasputin.

What did they do this time to get a crowd? Pass out free pizza and beer? Works like a charm. Last time, Hilly gave donuts to the NH snow-dopes. College students are a bit more demanding.

Real smart Hillary!
College students seldom vote.
But, if your name was Hillary Beer Kegger, you'd get 70% percent of the vote.
The other 30% would go to Barack Weed Obama...if they could remember to vote.

I was at the rally with my wife. Hillary was terrific! We weren't sure who we would support, but after her speech we both were certain. Hillary would get our vote.

Bruce,
Stop being grumpy. Paper airplane is fun. I guess you never had a childhood. And, how do you know those paper airplane came out of your tax dollars? Do you have proof before making accusations?
The truth is Clinton and Obama are well liked. Get use to it. But, you have the right not to like them. That's your right. The majority of the people just choose to like Clinton and Obama.

I was being sarcastic. I like Hillary. I am sick of the Hillary haters that hate her no matter what she does. If she shows emotion, they call it calculated. If she doesn't show emotion, they call her the Ice Queen. And worst of all, they always talk about her AMBITION, as though it's a crime, or that no other candidate in history ever had ambition.
Obama is as bad as the rest. He, too, made a snide remark about her ambition. When Hillary pointed out that Obama wanted to be president since Kindergarten, and she had the evidence to prove it, the Hillary -haters called it a low-down dirty trick.
She can't win, except in November.

I think it is going to be tough decision for most Americans come Nov. If its Hillary against MCCain you have 2 fairly moderates with a world of experience at their backs. If it is McCain vs Obama there will be an easy choice with someone with 40 years of great accomplishments against someone who is a media creation and is the Paris Hilton of politics. I would be happy with either Hillary or McCain but electing Obama would be a huge mistake. With his resume he isnt qaulified and he has to run on others accomplishments like JFK, Lincoln, and MLK. The GOP will eat him alive. The whole Rezko/cocaine/Maytag/playing the race card make him an easy target for the GOP. So by all means if you want McCain for president give Obama the nomination. I can just picture MCCAin and Obama debating and McCain just keep saying in a mocking way" well I know with all of your great military experience you are ready to be Commander in Chief". Imagine if companies hired CEO's on their ability to give a speech. Because after all that is the only thing Obama has ever proven he can do.

if you bickering about paper airplanes as your only defense on why you decided to hate on Hillary, Then you are just silly. If you knew anything about her then you would know she wants to end the war in Iraq, so if you really want to talk about tax dollars, then talk about the 179 billion that she will be bringing home rather then sending overseas.I was volunteering @ the SDSU town hall meeting (i seated elderly and disabled) and whether you support Hillary or not, those are amazing things to attend. THEY ARE HISTORY. She gave me goosebumps and almost made me cry. She was stern, yet amazing. All in all she got my vote since today is SUPER TUESDAY.

I was there for her speech at SDSU. It was pretty informative, but by far the part that people remember most were the paper airplanes and the fact that Hillary was over two hours late. It was even funnier when students would start cheering and clapping for a really good paper airplane flight, and some of the more ignorant people would think that it was Hillary arriving each and every time. You think they would have learned. But if you keep that many college students waiting for that long, expect them to entertain themselves. And paper airplanes seem the obvious answer.
