Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis on Wednesday said he is switching his support from Sen. Hillary Clinton to Sen. Barack Obama, according to a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Former Chicago Tribune White House correspondent Bob Kemper has the story, linked here.
Obama's campaign issued this statement for the senator: "John Lewis is an American hero and a giant of the civil rights movement, and I am deeply honored to have his support."

Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy.
Like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, and Mikhail Gorbachev, Barack Obama is a man of peace and love who is fighting against oppression and political corruption.
Remember this: no dream + no hope + no self-knowledge + no mindset change + no integrity + no passion + no trust + no love = NO SUSTAINABLE CHANGE---
Also Remember this:
Dream it, hope it, believe it, fix it in your mind, visualize it, accept it, respond to it with love, passion, and integrity, give your peak performance to it and you will achieve it…>>read more at http://rampersad.wordpress.com/2008/02/23/46/

In other news Hillary gets a major endorsement from former governor Ann Richards.
http://weblogs.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/politics/blog/2008/02/hrc_gets_support_from_the_late.html
""So many women around Texas and America are saying, `Wish Ann was here, for us and for Hillary,'" a female voiceover says on the video.
"Today Ann would be asking all of us to make a statement. She would be traveling to every small town and big city in Texas, urging us all to take a stand, be counted, to make a difference, to make history," it says while a picture of Richards and Clinton appears on the screen. "This one's for Texas. This one's for our country. This one's for Ann.""
Of course Ann Richards happens to be deceased! At least 2 of her children are not happy about this ad either.
I guess Obama can always respond with an ad saying that JFK and RFK are endorsing him.

Looks like the superdelegate problem may be taking care of itself...
I will vote for the Democratic nominee
whoever he is (JK). For the first time in my adult life I genuinely feel excited about my choice for President & it feels GREAT!!!
Our time has come, our movement is real, & change is coming to America...
Peace.

Lewis is just jumping on the Obama bandwagon, he's flip-flopping.

John Lewis is a bit late. He's now "following" his posse, not "leading" it. He should have stayed with Hillary. At least then his word would count for something.

I like Barack Obama, too, but let's not get carried away. I suppose the Gorbachev comparison works, sort of.
But as for Gandhi, MLK and Mendela, Obama has never had to endure the oppression that they went through. He is not in their class. These 3 were more than mere political leaders, they stood up and took the pains for oppressed people evrywhere and Gandhi and MLK were martyred (or perhaps even crucified is an appropriate word) for it.
This is where I disagree with the few Obama supporters who try to elevate his status to some kind of Messianic figure.
I agree with many of Obama's positions and will be voting for him come November (at least I hope he's the nominee).
But, please peolpe, let's try to keep a little perspective.

Shame on John Lewis! Where is his loyalty to the South. Who ever wishes to occupy the White House needs to win the South or its katy bare the door.
