Now that the presidential campaign of 2008 is underway and the Republican Party is rallying around a candidate, Sen. John McCain, who has wrapped his arms around the war-strategy of President Bush, wags at the Democratic Party are reminding us of that 2000 campaign when McCain and Bush stood not so much at arm's length, but rather at each other's throats.
This McCain ad from 2000 feattured the Arizona senator saying: "Gov. Bush's campaign is getting desparate with a negative ad about me.. The fact is, I'll use the surplus to fix Social Security, cut your taxes, pay down the debt. Gov. Bush uses all the surplus for tax cuts and not one new penny for Social Security or the debt. His ad twists the truth like Clinton. We're all pretty tired of that. As president, I'd be conservative, and always tell you the truth.''
Bush has not weighed in with an endorsement this year, but as his party gets close to coalescing around McCain the president appeared at the Conservative Poltical Action Convention today -- where McCain stood Thursday, and where Mitt Romney quit the Republican race -- to say:
''We have had good debates and soon we will have a nominee who will carry a conservative banner into this election and beyond. I'm absolutely confident that with your help, we will elect a person who shares our principles.''

Why has no one brought up the Clinton's real estate, etc businesses before his election where key individuals ended up mysteriously dead or missing? And files mysteriously could not be found to show how innocent they were? Also, why has no one mentioned this lady who is trying to convince folks she is keen on knowing stuff - had bimbo patrols in the White House and yet did not seem to know anything about Monica?

Americans are sick of trusting politicians we are supposed to trust.....we have been thrown aside for the goals of politicians with no consideration of the impact on our country. McCain has a long way to go before we can trust him.
Where did the money come from when the campaign was near death? From someone in the Democratic party or was it George Bush???

McCain will share and create legislation with such notable conservatives as Ted Kennedy and Russ Feingold.

Duncan:
It's now 2008 - the things you talk about were all looked into and found out to be irrelevant. Please tell us the names of the dead and missing from these investigations (and no, Vince Foster does not count).

John McCain didnt win the nomination yet. Hes NOT conservative. For all the news media reporting John McCain the winner... Watch out for Huckabee, he will be the nomination

Duncan, I guess it is true, some people do beleive everything Rush tells them to beleive.

The conservative candidates haven't exactly generated a lot of enthusiasm among the GOP voters this year, have they? Huckabee's still hanging in, and Paul is still around, but he isn't considered electable. Could it be that a lot of GOP voters are just a little tired of Bush-styled slash and burn conservatism? Maybe GOP voters are ready for an end to invasion, occupation, and empire building, and are ready to start backing people who will take care of things here at home.

Let's see--The Bush/Cheney total disaster mis-administration told 935 lies about Iraq. Is that ok with John McCain? Oops!--John McCain told a whopper standing in the Baghdad market surrounded by the heavily armed American forces and wearing his bullet proof vest. He basically said--It's ok, It's ok America. This was before the 'surge'. Yes he is truly John 'Baghdad Bob' McCain. Baghdad Bob was the Iraqi propagandist that was saying everything was ok and at the same time American forces were entering Baghdad. Chalk up a big one for McCain. More of the same????
