What Sen. John McCain could really use is Mitt Romney's hair.

Today, he got his endorsement.

The former Massachusetts governor, who spent many millions of his own dollars on a campaign for the Republican Party's presidential nomination, today stepped forward in his home town of Boston with an endorsement for the senator from Arizona, who is close to cornering all the delegates needed for the GOP's nomination.

These two who fought so fervently in the primary campaign now stand hand in hand.

“I think you’re very well aware of the issues where we disagreed,'' Romney said, with McCain standing by his side today. "We debated those extensively… I still have my views. The senator has his views… But as a party, we come together.

“Right now, the Democrats are fighting,'' Romney said. "Let’s us come together and make progress while they are fighting…. There is no question in my mind, this individual should be the next president of the United States – not Barack Obama. Not Hillary Clinton.''

McCain said: "We share a common philosophy, a common goal, a common set of principles that have guided our Republican Party...

"We all know it was a hard campaign,'' McCain said. "Primaries are tough... and now we move forward... and I am honored, very honored, to have Gov. Romney and the members of his team by my side... I'm grateful that he ran a hard, tough and frankly a campaign that helped me become a better candidate, not only in the primary, but also in the general election..

"Gov. Romney will help me draw the stark differences that exist between myself'' and the Democratic nominee, McCain said, citing taxes, social policy and the war: "Whether we will retreat and declare a withdrawal from Iraq, or whether we will continue the surge... There will be stark differences.''

Flip Romney endorses Insane McCain, these two flip-flopping panderer's deserve each other!

Get in line little Rethuglican sheeple, your overloards want you to do what you do best: FOLLOW!

Will Romney's sons be signing up for military service now that they are serving their country by trying to get Mittens elected President?

Jethro, did you serve? I didn't either, along with millions of other great American young men, but I don't fault Mitt's sons for not running to their local National Guard and signing up. Give it a rest.

Barack, Hilary? Huckabee? If Mitt is trying to unite the party with whatever influence he has, there is no better way than to put his support behind the nominee. What would you suggest Mitt do now, stand alone with his delegates or support the nominee? Yea, that's what I thought. Unless of course you are still for supporting Huckabee or want to support Hilack or Barary!

If Tagg and Craig, do, Jethro, they'll just be joining McCain's son who's already there.

I never liked Romney because of the classless campaign he ran that used dirty ads against both Senator McCain and Governor Huckabee. But I am glad he's endorsing senator for the good of the party. Maybe he can earn back some of the respect he lost in the primaries.

Are we going to see photomerges of Hillary Clinton with John Edwards' hair when he endorses her?

McCain was born in Panama and as such it is not a "Natural Born Citizen"
therefore it sounds as he does not qualify to run for the office of the president.
Panama was leased and we have no Territorial Rights nor it was considered US territory.

If I may, this is not about McCain per se but rather a legitimate quest for the truth and clarification; As of now there has been no good and well conducted public debate on this matter that I am aware of. As many Radio and TV shows talks about immigration issues none that I recall had actually come up with a TV or Radio series where the subject is around immigration and Citizenship and where Buzz words are not part of the context for serious discussion as to how US Citizenship is acquired, what current laws says on that subject and the relationship and impact of immigrants coming to the USA from all part of the Globe and those American Citizens to whom Childen are born abroad.

If I may I would like to bring this US State Department PDF document where in page 6 indicated the following:
"Despite widespread popular belief, U.S military installations abroad and U.S diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th amendment. A child born on the premises of such facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth."
this is in page 6... Please read it...
This is the US State Department web site which contains the file which is attached for your reading. www.state.gov/documents/organization/86755.pdf

As you recall in the past there has been elections (Primary) where US Citizens were running for the office of the President and those Candidates were born in another country and their Parents were US Citizens. (similar to McCain)

Not long ago it was said that Arnold (the governor of California) was actually indicating he would like the Constitution to be amended so he and others Citizens like him can run for the office of the President.
I'm not a Constitutional scholars, but if you feel as passionate and fascinated with this subject as I am, in the process of researching you will discover the vast data that exists of factual information extracted from US Supreme Court cases as well as the Founding Father Papers during the process of writing our Constituion you will discover what the actual intend of "Natural Born Citizen" was and is and what is missing or not to have it clarified once and for all.
Here is a set of web pages to help you all that love reading and educating themself.

Page 15- Last Paragraph
Then Page 32 and 33 have some answers; but I encourage you to read it or have some of your research personal to do so.
The question then is why it was removed on the 1795 Act?; What took place on Congress that moved them to remove such a clear definition as stated on the 1790 Act?

You guys are Tough!!! LOL

I wonder how much a "Romney" costs?

I am proud of Senator McCain and Governor Romney uniting today for the common good. And, I agree with their position that both Senators Clinton and Obama would do a terrible disservice to our country and our world by prematurely withdrawing from Iraq. We need to elect John McCain in this dangerous time. Of the remaining candidates, only he has proven himself to have the right stuff for the job.

Also, if every one of the 280 Romney delegates follow their leader's recommendation, then John McCain has already won the Republican presidential nomination.

Mitt Rocks!... he will be a great asset wherever he go and whoever he attaches himself to. John McCain is lucky to now have him on his team.

I just LOVE the photo composite! That is just a HOOT!

Mitt the Twit;
Have ya given up yet, buddy?

Message to Roger: If you are born on an American military base or vessel, you are qualified to be President. But what I find interesting is the disintegration of the GOP. I thought that Bush, the great unifier, had everything wrapped up for the GOP for a hundred years. Gee, what happened!

Oh, gee, another 4-8 years of the same? 100 years in Iraq?! Are you people NUTS?! Electing Johnny Mac would be a horrible mistake at this point, and would in fact prove we have learned nothing from King W. and Tricky Dicky Cheney. Thanks, I'm voting for Obama, and there's an end of it.

Jethro, thank you so much.

Lets see, we can take a verbal shot at Gov. Romney's kids but we can't say anything about Hillary's nearly 30 year old child.

Come on everyone, lets be fair and demand the editor to remove Jethro and the editor be fired for allowing this to happen.

If your going to get selective, then I guess the Clinton's are all signed up, right. Open one door and another opens up.

Just pointing out selective criticisms.

The Deseret News should do an article on the Lantos family. Annette Lantos-a holocaust survivor and convert to Mormonism- picture is on the front of the Washington Post on-line edition holding Harry Reid's hand. This is a big story as Lantos was awarded by Rice, Secretary General, etc. Bono was there and his wife, daughters, and a few grandchildren spoke-who are all Mormons. He was the only holocaust survivor to serve in congress. His one daughter and family were on the documentary- the Mormons.

No big surprise here.

Plastic Mitt has flip-flopped on every other position he's ever had and now he's pandering to crazy old man McCain who's vision for America is, LESS JOBS and MORE WAR.

Good for Mitt, good for McCain, good for the US. The Republican Party is the change for success party. The Dems are the change for defeat and failure party. Said by a former long time active Dem who gave up on the party after McGovern and his following wannabees who made the Dem party into the anti-US party.

This was too good. Stewart deconstructed Willard's whole speech, showing it up for the idiotic tripe it actually was.

Thank gawd he won't be president. Lord, save us from your followers.

PS: I think you can hear Bushman and 'Joe' booing in the background.

I DON’T GIVE A DAM WHAT ANY ONE SAYS IAM RIDING WITH BIG JOHN , AND IAM BRINGING HELL WITH ME , ANY CHICKEN REPUBLICAN THAT WANTS TO STAY BEHIND AT FORT HUCKABEE WITH THE OLD WOMAN AND CHILDREN OR HIDE BEHIND THE SAFE WALLS OF FORT BUSH, WILL HAVE GOD’S HELL TO PAY,HA HEAR ! GOD’S HELL TO PAY! HA HEAR! … GOOD ,NOW LETS SADDLE UP ,AND MOVE OUT !

Romney delegates: Please, PLEASE do not throw your support to a candidate who is NOT conservative in ANY way! For the good of this country, do what is right, abide by your principles, and support Governor Mike Huckabee. For a tough stance on illegal immigration, for a rejuvenated economy, for Second Amendment rights, for the sanctity of life, for a better America- please do what is right.

So now the race is between Mitt and Huck to be Mr Republican Man-In-Waiting for 2012 after McCain "runs" a Bob Dole-style race in 2008 against a younger, vigorous opponent. It'll be Evangelicals vs. Establishment.

Let me get my popcorn...

I know Mark is having a little fun here with the pics, but some valid questions and concerns do emerge.
First, will the same happen if and when Edwards endorses Obama or Hillary? Or if Hillary has to endorse Obama in August?
And, even though this is meant to be cute, it also points to another reality: purposeful distortion of the news by the media.

Now, bethidee, you say McCain is not a conservative in any way. While McCain was not among the top five Repulicans originally running in my book, I will support him in November. But please tell me how Sen. McCain is not a conservative in any way. He has never voted for a tax increase. He is a social conservative, pro-life and tough on crime. He also is a defense hawk.
Think and get a clue, OK?

Is this a newspaper? Is this guy a real journalist?

Can you imagine what would happen if this imagery were done to Obama or Clinton head shots? The shouts of racism and sexism would over shadow the tragedy at NIU!

As a minority from the south east side (South Shore) I am observing a clear shift - criticism/joking of my people of any kind is racism - criticizing/joking about (the looks of) Hispanics and whites is acceptable. against my people of Chicago I am really surprised.

Good for Republican Party and more importantly, good for Country. Now if McCain is smart, he will name Romney as his VP at the appropriate time. That would give the ticket the economic and the foreign policy expertise as well as quiet the concerns about age and conservatism.
